Real relationships, both with the farms and our customers, are essential to Rare Tea. This is what we believe defines direct trade.
We focus on quality, sampling the finest and only selecting the best: our range is small but carefully chosen, seeking out tea-gardens and farmers crafting the most delicious leaves. We are extremely lucky and proud to work with unique farms producing extraordinary tea.
Some of our tea is very rare, with only a few kilos produced each year. Others can be grown on a larger scale. All of our tea is crafted by skilled men and women on independent farms, not industrially processed by large agribusinesses. We buy harvests from farmers, not a commodity from brokers.

Good quality. A little expensive for fairly bog standard tea 🫖. I'd like a bit more variety 🌿, a bit more surprise 🌈, a bit more wonder 🦒 or wow 💥 factor but I do like the designs 🎨, the branding 🕊️ & the name ♾️. If you can manage that then I'll subscribe again ✔️🍵💧

Love the tea
Love the tea, I give it 5 stars. However your site boasts of not using plastics yet my order arrived in a plastic bag. Breaking the use of plastics is priority to me and so was very disappointed in this.

So sorry that we weren't clear enough on the packaging and its materials. Please let me explain a little more now. We have changed most of our packaging over to LDPE bags throughout last year. You are right – LDPE is also plastic. The choice wasn't easy, but we had to select a material that was best for our teas and better for the planet.

Flavorless and overpriced
Flavorless and overpriced. I was excited to try this company’s tea because of their values around sourcing and many great reviews but I was underwhelmed and disappointed with their product. I followed their brewing guidelines and it just fell flat for me. I can find sources for herbal tea blends that outmatch this for a fraction of the price.

The best Chamomile tea I've ever had
I recently received your Chamomile tea in the mail and I was in for such a great surprise! I have _never_ tasted any chamomile like it! It seemed as if there were little honey beads infused in it. Thank you for your strong commitment to high quality and ethically sourced herbs. It shows!

Delicious Teas
I purchased Malawi Antlers and 20th Century Afternoon both for me and as a Christmas gift for my sister. I have tried both teas and found them delicious.
The shipment arrived in a timely manner and in good condition. This was my first order from Rare Tea Company. I would order these teas again, as well as try some of their other teas.

Great tasting tea
I purchased online, which was easy to do, I also received email from the company etc telling me when it would arrive. The presentation box was as described and the tea infuser works well, The Earl grey tea is very good, the only downsides you only get 50grams, and it's very expensive.

What a find this Company is. I received the Jasmine as a gift and intend to try many more. I have searched for a Jasmine tea for a long time this tea is beautiful, I have now purchased a teapot so that I can make it properly. The website is helpful and contacting them easy.
