With the Railboard iPhone or iPad app, you can save lots of money by finding super-cheap split train tickets. Plus, you have easy access to live train times powered by National Rail Enquiries.
With Split Tickets, our clever algorithms find combinations of tickets that together offer the same journey but at a lower price than a regular ticket.
This is done by splitting regular train tickets at calling points along the journey. So instead of one ticket from A to C, you have two tickets from A to B and B to C. Best UI in a rail app!
I am finding Railboard very easy to use. The UI is clean and simple - the best I have found in a rail app. I find both the planner and live sections easy to read and navigate. The app would be perfect if the ticket page should include an option to remove used tickets.

Love this app!
Love this app! Fast, responsive and the forecasted platforms are brilliant! Whilst everyone else is stood at the boards - you’re at the turnstile ready to go!
This app is your unofficial seat gaurentee! (Disclaimer: predictions can be wrong use with caution, etc)
Oh and buy you tickets through it - the split thing was initially annoying but now I’m good with saving cash! (If you do they’ll build the android version)

Just a superbly well-designed app, which puts back all the useful features which National Rail removed in their disastrous re-design. And the split ticketing is worth the small fee because it’s so easy to use.

Sorry to hear your train arrived late. It's always annoying when that happens! Although, as a ticket retailer, there's not much we can do about that.
However, you may want to look into the Delay Repay policy of the train operating company that was running the service. As the arrival was delayed by over 15 minutes, you will likely be owed compensation from them.

Best in UK for checking live trains and also for buying tickets
It's not only the best iPhone app for buying train tickets in the UK, it's also the best app for checking live train times when you aren't trying to buy a ticket.
When checking live train details, all of the ticketing stuff is hidden, and they can predict the platform before it's official.
When buying tickets, there are no adverts or booking fees, and by using Trainsplit's journey planner algorithm, it often finds many more valid journey options that you just can't get through other apps. For example, you may want to buy a cheaper advance ticket on a slower journey which doesn't appear in most other apps.
The one thing it can't do is sell you a railcard. And sadly there's no Android app yet.
