With the Railboard iPhone or iPad app, you can save lots of money by finding super-cheap split train tickets. Plus, you have easy access to live train times powered by National Rail Enquiries.
With Split Tickets, our clever algorithms find combinations of tickets that together offer the same journey but at a lower price than a regular ticket.
This is done by splitting regular train tickets at calling points along the journey. So instead of one ticket from A to C, you have two tickets from A to B and B to C. Railboard is a really useful app
Railboard is a really useful app for booking tickets and following trains and journey routes. The live trains feature is really useful. The app works really well on my iPhone and plays nice with my screen reader software that tells me what's on my phone screen.

Great app
Love the app - nice and easy to use, and also reliable. Would be 5-star 'perfect' if it had an option to automatically add purchased tickets into Apple Wallet rather than needing several taps each time, and if the "via" option/filter was available in the Live Trains function and not only in the Planner

Railboard is the best train app
I've used several train apps - Railboard is the best:
- best - it's the easiest to navigate and use
- favourite stations/journeys
- live tracking and planned trips
- adds journeys to calendars (with a train emoji)
- best to purchase split tickets - std or 1st class - can save £100s of pounds sometimes
- tickets on iPhone
There's only one function missing that another app (UK Live Train Times app) has: Next Train Home, which is good when one is a bit lost, maybe tipsy, and needs to find the closest station and best route home.

Best rail ticket app for me
Definitely one of the better ticket purchasing apps. Very clear interface, easy to navigate. Good integration with my phone's wallet. It's now the app I use most for train travel.

Easy
Easy, simple, and reliable. I regularly use it to check train times and buy tickets. It’s better than the National Rail app, and unlike Trainline, it hasn’t yet sold me tickets for non-existent trains.
