Unacceptable service
I bought a Chanel boy bag and wanted to return the item and was received a week ago told me they would issue me a refund. I keep calling the customer service and nobody answers the phone. Very delayed response and I'm starting to wonder if they even have customer service team available. Also I read some reviews on purseforum saying that this site sells fake items and saying it's authenticated item. Do not buy from here

Great, but not quite so...
I recently bought a vintage Chanel Diana 9' flap bag for my sister as a birthday present.
Slightly Disappointing as the listing said it came with a box and a dust bag - which neither came, and as it is a gift, it is annoying that it can't be presented with them.
Secondly, the bag is in far worse condition than the site made out, it rated the bag as 'excellent' which is one step down from their pristine (good as new) rating, however the flap is noticeably lopsided when closed and there is lots of wrinkles in the leather along the flap & a good amount of wear on the underside of the bag. I'm understanding that the bag is from the 90's, but it was mislabeled & the pictures uploaded were nowhere near high quality enough to make out any of these deficiencies.
To top it all of, it has been over a week since I received the bag and have yet to have a follow-up email from Portero asking how things went - which is common practice among even the cheapest online retailers.
I had to travel 4 days after receiving the bag and so did not have the time to re-order a new bag, which is what I'd have ideally done. The bag is still a nice bag, but it's half the bag I had intended to give. So that, teamed with the poor customer support is why I have given the 2* rating.
(note: I have not bothered reaching out to Portero - as mentioned i didn't have the luxury of time to send the bag back and re-order a new one - because in this case as I can't return it i waited to hear from them, and since i haven't I came here to let everyone else know! )

A trusted website for those who wish to purchase pre-owned quality designer items. This is my second time to purchase from Portero and have been satisfied from both transactions. The delivery of goods was always on time. Packaging is intact making sure that the item gets to you in good hands.
Pricing may be higher compared to other sites, though, but over all they do provide very good quality choices of goods.

Louis Vuitton Summit Dr Vernis handbag
I am very pleased with my purchase! My handbag was described as purple. It turned out to be Amarante which I thought it would be from the picture, so I wasn't disappointed. There is no sign of a date code but I am not too worried about that as I don't plan on reselling it. It was described as in very good condition and it definitely was! The handbag was wrapped extremely well for shipping and arrived quickly. A word of caution to Canadian purchasers, remember to factor in duty, taxes and exchange rate. With the 20% discount I received it help off set this, so it was still a deal and worth it to me.

I have purchased 2 LV handbags from Portero. I love the variety, pictures, descriptions. Handbag arrived in a very timely manner. Condition was even better than expected!
I ordered a Vuitton handbag that originated from Japan. It arrived in great condition, both packing and handbag. Would love to have had a bag dust cover but it wasn't imperative. I would order from Portero again.

I never knew the status of my order. I had to call to get a confirmation that my order went through, then never got any responses from any emails about further status. no shipping confirmation, but order showed up without notice

The experience
I have had good service from Potrero,and , I have also had 2 experiences of their not being able to either find the product ordered or it had been sold from another site ..that surprised me..they use alternative vendors who have multiple sites and sell the same products.
Few discounts after product being on the site for a while has discouraged me from purchase..no incentives for good customers.
Also, using only standard delivery for the post office and no 2 day special deliveries.
I also got a bag from Japan with no authorized paperwork for the domaine of the bag.
Not having any customer contact available during the weekend is also a minus because of the question of whether my order was accepted or just being held in the cloud.
I have gotten a few items with no issues and pleasant service when I did get a representative.
