We have been working with Opulent Africa for ten years on at least five journeys to east Africa. We have nothing by high praise for this group and especially John who has come to know what works for us and never misses a beat.

Opulent Africa made our trip of 11 people such a pleasure to plan from the very start. From the first phone call introducing myself, to the return home- everything was perfect. We were met at each airport and watched over to make sure everything went smoothly and wonderful (which it did). I have traveled to Africa before; but Opulent Africa made this trip very special, easy, pleasurable, and efficient. We all loved every minute of being in Africa. Thank you Amanda and John (who I worked with) to make this trip so FABULOUS!

Opulent went over and above to ensure a smooth, and memorable experience. From the beginning, they took the time to understand our travel preferences and curated the most thoughtful, and luxurious 12 day itinerary which took us seamlessly, from safari to sand! I would not have known about the Ngorongoro crater had they not recommended a stop on our way to the Serengeti and the choice of camps and safari guide far exceeded our expectations. We loved the Zanzibar resort Mara, the service and food were impeccable. We will recommend Jill and Opulent to all of our friends and family. This once in a lifetime (or more if we are lucky) experience is one worth investing in.

Our trip to Africa and the Seychelles was absolutely incredible, thanks to John and Amanda! Every detail was perfectly planned — from safari lodges and guides to the most stunning island resort. The itinerary was seamless, and their local knowledge made all the difference. We felt taken care of every step of the way. Highly recommend for anyone dreaming of a once-in-a-lifetime adventure!

We just returned from our South Africa and Victoria Falls trip—our first time visiting Africa and experiencing a safari. It was an absolutely amazing adventure!

We did have a bit of a hiccup at the start when our flight was canceled, causing us to miss our connection to the Kruger safari. I was incredibly stressed trying to figure out how to get us there in time. Thankfully, I reached out to John, and he acted immediately to reroute us through another airport so we could still make it to Kruger. Although we lost one day of excursions, we were able to join the safari as planned.

John’s choice of lodge—Timbavati River Sands Reserve—was fantastic and I would highly recommend it. The Victoria Falls portion of the trip was just the right length for a couple of nights, and the hotel there was excellent. Our time in Cape Town was also great, with wonderful guides who were kind, knowledgeable, and happy to accommodate our requests.

Overall, this was an excellent trip, and John’s team did a fantastic job planning something that really fit our needs. We’re already looking forward to exploring other parts of Africa in the future—and will definitely be contacting them again. Highly recommend!

Honeymoon of my dreams!!!! They planned everything for us it was sooo easy and way more affordable than I thought it would be! They coordinated all of our transfers, hotel and lodge stays, arrival into the country with an escort to take us through customs. It was truly so easy and I will definitely be using them again!! Overall we stayed in 5 different hotels, had multiple internal flights, and car transfers and all we had to do was just show up!!!!!! They took care of everything I can’t recommend enough!

Everything went smoothly. Pick ups and drop offs were perfect. The drivers were personable and knowledgable. The accomodations that Opulent Africa arranged were 5 star and simply fabulous. We started off with trips to the bush and could not imagine a more rewarding experience. We then spent several days in Cape Town and followed their recommendations regarding sightseeing. We were very impressed. We went to Franschhoek for wine tastings and again the choices that they suggested were top notch. They recommended several restaurants and again they were spot on. I am glad they are expanding their offerings to other destinations outside of Africa. We plan on making them our go to for travel.

This was our sixth trip organised by Opulent Africa. As always the itinerary and travel arrangements put together by John and Amanda were seamless. We arrived in Johannesburg from a beach holiday in Mauritius and they organised storage of bags to enable us to travel lightly to Madikwe. The VIP arrival service and transportation to our private plane ran like absolute clockwork, likewise on our return too.
Opulent Africa are indisputably the best for organising trips to Africa.

We were looking for a one-week safari experience, and John Harvey gave us very good guidance, actually getting on a call with our entire family to discuss the attributes of various locations and time of year.
The experience we had in Kenya in the Masai Mara was phenomenal - all the attention and services and not one missing piece in terms of pickups and transport to hotels, airports, etc.
The safari guides and accomodations were excellent as well - really beyond excellent. We would say they were extraordinary considering we are basically out in the wilderness with few services.

We had an amazing trip to the magical island of Madagascar organized by Opulent Africa. Madagascar is not an easy country as its infrastructure is often underdeveloped and the distances are enormous. Opulent Africa arranged a dream itinerary including a private pilot and Cessna to fly from one beautiful destination to the next. The whole trip went perfectly with seamless flights and transfers, great hotels/lodges, professional guides and drivers, challenging but rewarding trekkings to discover the unique fauna and flora and to meet the welcoming population (especially the kids…) of the island.

This is our third safari with Opulent
Africa, and we would not travel any other way! The entire experience was seamless and the opulent Africa team is available 24/7 for any issues. From the time you send your first email to the time you get back from your safari they are with you every step of the way to customize each trip to your specific needs and interests. This really is an experience of a lifetime and I would recommend it to anybody in a heartbeat.

We had the most incredible honeymoon (Safari, Cape Town, and Franschhoek) thanks to the team at Opulent Africa. We left right after our wedding, so we had no time to really think about the details of the trip, but we didn’t have to! My recent African Safari adventure, meticulously orchestrated by Opulent Africa under the unwavering guidance of John, was nothing short of a transformative journey through the heart and soul of this incredible continent. From the moment we touched down in Nairobi on August 22nd to our reluctant departure from Cape Town on September 12th, every day was an awe-inspiring revelation woven with thoughtfulness and precision.
John, recognizing our craving for an unparalleled experiences, single-handedly crafted an itinerary that exceeded all expectations. His intuitive understanding of our desires was evident in every carefully chosen detail, leaving me, a self-confessed perfectionist and often times extremely OCD in nature, in awe of the premium attention to detail.
The surprises at each accommodation were like sprinkles on an already delectable dessert, enhancing the depth of each outing. Navigating through this captivating landscape was made seamless and stress-free through a user-friendly travel app, a true lifesaver that allowed us to relish every moment without fretting and stressing about logistics. In one 24 hour period we were on 4 planes, so you can only imagine how important “stress free” means.
The private drivers who escorted us from one enchanting destination to another added personality and many laughs along the way. As we traversed from place to place, we were enveloped in an aura of joy and profound happiness, manifesting in tears of elation and emotional overflow each day. (Finding words to describe the emotion is still difficult to properly express) The people we encountered, the majestic animals we observed, and the vastness of the Mara Triangle, the mountain gorillas and the bush of Kenya, left me utterly speechless, forging an emotional connection that defies words.
A particular highlight of this remarkable journey was the time spent with the people of the Samburu Tribe, the hosts and guides at Sarara Camp, where their genuine warmth and hospitality left an indelible mark on my heart. The Ngare Serian Game Drivers and Guides heightened our experience, imparting a wealth of knowledge and making each safari adventure unforgettable. The Zimbabwe Zambezi River Lodge, Cape Town's Silo Hotel, and the two incredible days spent trekking gorillas in Uganda's Bwindi were nothing short of extraordinary.
This voyage was a life-altering odyssey that has left an indelible imprint on all 4 of us. The memories of the countries we explored will forever be etched in my thoughts, a kaleidoscope of vibrant and unforgettable moments.
For orchestrating the best 22 days of my existence, I extend my deepest gratitude to John and his remarkable team at Opulent Africa. I struggle to articulate just how much this journey has meant to me. Thank you, John, for being the person behind this most meaningful trip.

WOW! Amazing 2-week honeymoon in South Africa, thank you to Jill, Amanda, and John for making every aspect of our honeymoon seamless. We felt so cared for and safe the whole trip. The team is incredibly personable and took the time to curate a trip that catered to what we wanted. The accommodations were absolutely amazing. This team knows what they're doing! We absolutely loved our trip to Rwanda, Kenya, and Tanzania...from the gorillas to the chimps and everything in-between! Our guides were so personable, knowledgeable, and such good wildlife finders. All of our lodges were charming with such hospitable staff. The Gorilla Safari Company/Opulent Africa customized our trip to pack it full of wildlife for us. They know and love Africa and care so much about what they do. My husband and I were able to travel with my sister and her husband, and we have memories to last a lifetime. Opulent Africa made our 2 week honeymoon in South Africa the trip of our lifetime. It was truly an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience. The team at Opulent Africa really nailed what we were looking for, were so accommodating and flexible in making adjustments to our schedule, and incredibly responsive any time we had a question.

My wife and I worked with Opulent Africa (specifically with Amanda and John) to help us plan our honeymoon. Our bucketlist items were to do a safari trip and see the gorillas. They made an entire itinerary for us with every day meticulously planned out. We are so happy with the entire experience that was set up for us. Amanda did an amazing job creating an itinerary that made it effortless on our end and she was always ready to answer all our questions for us. From the outset, we were met with the VIP treatment from the moment we landed in Rwanda, and met our amazing guide, Mugabe, who took care of us every single step of the way. He did an amazing job and was such a genuinely kind person. Seeing the gorillas and being so close to them was a life changing experience. After that we flew out to Tanzania and had an amazing safari in Ngorongoro. They set us up with the Nyikani Ndutu camp that was centered right in the middle of the great migration and every day was an adventure with an incredible staff of people making us feel like family.
I cannot recommend Opulent Africa enough. They made our honeymoon unforgettable!

This was our fifth time to visit Africa. All our journeys have been arranged by Opulent Africa. John and Amanda will give you the trip of a lifetime. Really, do you use a service five tines if you are not completely satisfied? I admit to a bit of trepidation because if the Covid closures. This trip had been planned for 2020, and I wondered about the infrastructure in Africa. All was exactly the sane as in 2019. Their ground agents, New Frontiers, Ilios, Wilderness Air, Safari Air, etc. were exactly as before. Quick, efficient, and on time. We visited four countries thus trip, had numerous light aircraft flights as well as the regional flights on Airlink. No problems.
If you desire a second class journey, book elsewhere. However, if you want first class service and an unforgettable experience, your only choice is Opulent Africa. We were gone for a month and the time just flew by each day.
