every aspect of our wonderful African vacation was handled with the utmost warmth and professionalism. some friends made the trip in 2018 and were so enthusiastic that my husband and i couldn't wait to retrace their travels. we were never disappointed.

Residing in Western Canada and contacting a company based in the U.K. to asist with making traveling arrangments for my wife and I in Namibia was a little daunting at first. I was impressed by their website as it provided me with the information I was looking for in planning our safari in Nambia. Notwithstanding the time difference, Opulent was quick to respond to my enquires and telephone calls.
I am happy to say that as good as pictures and descriptions of the places we wanted to visit were on their website, everything we saw and did in Namibia was even better! We were not disappointed. In the planning process our itinerary changed a few times and Opulent worked diligently with the supplier to ensure we were able to visit the camps we wanted to visit. During our travels Opulent was very responsive to our needs and when notified of a problem regarding a tour operator in South Africa they responded both promptly to our concerns and proactively to ensure we would be well taken care of. This is my definition of outstanding service! I have no hesitation in recommending the company and am looking forward to using them again.

We selected Opulent Africa to book our first trip to Africa to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We couldn't be more pleased. Our trip included gorilla trekking in Uganda (AWESOME) as well as safaris in Tanzania at Arusha National Park, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and the Northern Serengeti. The hotels and tented camps they booked for us were all exceptional. The multiple small flight arrangements all went smoothly. The drivers who greeted us and stayed with us through each location were courteous and exceptionally knowledgeable and they worked hard to make this an outstanding experience. I thought this was going to be a "trip of a lifetime". It surely was, but I don't expect it to be the only one! I plan on booking with Opulent Africa again!

Wonderful experience with Opulent Africa from start to finish!! John did a great job of customizing our trip to exactly what our family (Myself (48), Husband (48) Son (23) daughter-in-law (23) and daughter (20) wanted to see on our first trip to Africa. We did not do the normal route and added in several side trips. Transportation, guides, hotel and activities all worked out great!
Kate was amazing at facilitating our trip. We had our share of things go wrong and Kate worked everything out. Our flight out was canceled (not booked through Opulent) and we were not able to arrive until 2 days later. Kate was able to amend our arrival time and coordinated with the hotel, guides and transportation to accommodate and even got us refunded for the first hotel. We also had one of our travelers undergo emergency surgery and she had to join the rest of the family 2 days later (when you have an extra day to wait for your trip you do things that you have not had time for...like visit the doctor 😳). Kate quickly arrange new transportation and lodgings so that she could join the family in the Northern Serengeti. In Zambia we realized that we did not bring enough cash (Zambia does not have its own currency right now and so ATM's do not work) and Kate arranged for a local activity company to use our credit card to get cash from them. We were able to go shopping at a local artisan bizarre and had a great time!!
As far as Africa is concerned, you have to go. It was amazing! I kind of had to talk my husband into this trip because in his words "We can see animals at the zoo, its only 20 min away and much cheaper". He ATE those words! Africa is surreal, you cannot believe what you are seeing with your own eyes. We spent time in the Tarangire National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater, Northern Serengeti National Park and of course Victoria Falls. We safaried in Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti, they were all amazing but our favorite by far was the Northern Serengeti. It was open and FULL of animals, we spent many happy hours watching and observing nature at its finest and could not have been more thrilled with our trip. Our guide was wonderful, so knowledgeable and fun. He was also a great driver, knew just how to get us to the front for an unforgettable viewing of a wildebeest crossing, we were fortunate to see it twice!
This was the trip of a lifetime and I am so thankful we used Opulent Africa. I have planned all our vacations for the last 20 years and we have seen most of Europe, Southern Asia, Central America, the Carribean and Japan. When it came to planning Africa I knew I was over my head and needed help. Opulent Africa was easy to work with, prompt on replies and masters at handling logistics. Their connections in Africa to the best hotels, guides and activity companies was impressive and we were very happy with all of our choices. We were very well looked after, in fact we were downright spoiled most of the time and NEVER felt unsafe. I am also grateful they required trip insurance as we were able to get refunded all of our cost for the portions of the trip we did not get to do.
Long story short, this could have been a disaster of a trip but Opulent Africa efficiently and expertly rolled with all our problems and everyone (including reluctant husband) had a great time!!
I am not done with John and Kate, we have already started talking about South America for next year and I am excited to see that amazing country, worry free:)

Our experience with Opulent Africa was exceptional and beyond our expectation! From my initial conversation with John; who actually heard me when I explained the experience we were looking for, which was to "feel Africa",to the travel packet with comprehensive information, everything was perfect! Before our trip we called their office often(sorry) and our coordinator Amanda was always available to answer yet one more question joyfully.The properties chosen were exceptional in quality, super luxurious, fantastic service and food.Truly the Tanzanian people are some of the most hospitable people we have ever come across.Our guide David A.;now renamed the "Mayor of Arusha",was a wealth of knowledge regarding his community and every animal and bird in Tanzania.He took time to show us life in Tanzania great and small.He had an eagle eye for spotting wildlife and was equally as excited as we were when we spotted the wildlife.He was fun to be around and we were grateful that he joined us for lunch and dinner most days.He took us on a fun bike ride through Banana Plantations and showed us the local community of Mto wa Mbu. Using Opulent Africa was the best decision we made for the trip of a lifetime.We hope to join them again next year.Gorillas in Rwanda sounds like the next amazing trip to us.

Now that the dust has settled following our three-country safari I wanted to thank John for designing this adventure so perfectly. Having never travelled to Africa before it was overwhelming knowing where to start with planning and once in Africa it was a sensory overload from start to finish.

I expected the scenery and wildlife to be amazing but both exceeded my imaginings spectacularly. The scenery throughout Tanzania was epic. Driving in an open-sided safari vehicle through the Serengeti brushing side by side with enormous Lions and having one roar right next to me is a moment I will never forget.

The attention and service we received from start to finish both from your drivers and the properties was outstanding. The unexpected highlight of the trip for me was Lake Manyara Tree Lodge. A luxury tree lodge in the forest and we watched monkeys swinging on our outside shower and had a bush baby outside the front door. Dinner by the lanterns and bush fire was also very romantic. On arrival our butler had run a bath for my wife and tea arrived with Lion-shaped homemade cookies!

KasKaz Camp in Northern Serengeti was our combined favourite - the wildlife and seeing the migration herds gathering to cross was special. We saw 3 cheetah in one day and our driver Hauss was so much fun and incredibly professional. His driving skills on the wet roads were also admirable. We never got stuck once thanks to him.

Ehlane Plains Camp in the central Serengeti left us speechless at the endless plains views and the Lion sightings were amazing. We witnessed Lions mating, roaring and sitting up on rocks like in the movies. A very magical place and a lovely luxurious camp.

In Rwanda our stay at BISATE lodge was beyond our imagining, the lodge is impressive in design and their focus on conservation and eco-tourism was genuine. The village walk, tree planting and the nature trail were real highlights. It felt like staying with family we were made so welcome and our room was absolutely beautiful. The scenery from the lodge - mountain views - outstanding.

I will never forget the warm friendly people we have met on this journey, the landscape or the wildlife.

This adventure has definitely left us restless to return and see more of Africa. I have travelled the world but nothing compares to this experience and we cannot thank you enough for perfectly translating our dreams into reality and picking the best places for us.

We will be back with Opulent Africa as soon as we have saved up for the next instalment!

Opulent Africa help my husband and I arrange our trip to Africa in October for our 30th wedding anniversary and we could not be more pleased with their attention to detail and following our every wish. We started in Nairobi and visited the Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary and the Giraffe Center near by. Also, not to be missed is the Karen Blixen museum. The drivers that were arranged by Opulent Africa were always gracious and ready to accommodate our every whim. We moved on to Uganda to do two days of gorilla trekking which was an amazing, memorable, close up experience. Off to Tanzania for several different safari experiences where our drivers were all super knowledgeable about the animals, birds and plants. We stayed in both hotel/resorts as well as tented camps which still had a luxurious fell to them. We saw it all and got incredible photos and could not thank Opulent Africa for their outstanding service and for making out anniversary trip a so fantastically memorable trip of a lifetime! Thank you!!

Travel in South Africa and Zimbabwe: This is the second time I have worked with Opulent Africa on specially arranged travel. Each time my experience has been excellent. Hotels have been attractive and comfortable, safe, and very well located. All tours have been excellent, really focused on topics and activities I was very interested in and of the highest quality. And, most importantly, every guide has been top notch, making all the difference in the quality of my experience.

John and Amanda are the BEST. The plan they developed for us was wonderful and they framed our expectations perfectly. This is the second African trip Opulent Africa has done for us and both were trips of a lifetime.

I have traveled to Africa twice with OA, and I never, ever had to worry about details. We are not "tour group" travelers, and that is where OA comes in. Every detail was cared for. All we had to do was board a plane. I cannot recommend OA highly enough.

How thrilling this trip was! We could relax as well as learn. Our truly excellent guides took such good care to be sure we saw amazing things, from giraffes mating (not easy!) to the intense wildebeest migration. Also our accommodations were first-rate and the food was delicious and sometimes involved seeing the sunset by a lake with drinks in hand!

To be surrounded by African wildlife from lions to ostriches whilst still being in safe hands I fully recommend Opulent Africa. Their guides are outstanding and know the locations of the mammals and birds in the areas visited. They are also familiar with the calls of the birds making it easier to locate birds of thick forest. The accommodation which Opulent Africa select is secure and very comfortable. A sundowner in the savannah after a trip into the bush is a great way to finish the day and see the Ugandan sunset. As a birder myself over 7 days I recorded just under 200 species.

WE missed our connection, but Opulent Africa and their agent arranged a flight for us so we did not miss much time from our triip. We were happy
