My family has chosen Opulent for travel (twice) to the Horn of Africa, plus Australia/ New Zealand, India, and Brazil. We have yet to be at all disappointed.

The destinations are discussed at great length, a unique plan of travel is derived, the facilities are excellent or superior, the guides are knowledgeable and fluent in English, and there is always a person to contact if some need arises.

These are high-end tours, but they more than deliver on yheir promise.

Thanks to the travel team at Opulent Africa for organizing an absolutely amazing African safari trip for our family. My husband and I traveled to South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana with our kids, ages 20 and 22. The camps we visited were unique and beautiful and the staff members were very friendly and knowledgeable. Our itinerary was perfect for the experience we were seeking, and transportation to and from each country and camp was flawless. We not only saw Africa's "Big Five," we learned so many valuable life lessons from observing, listening and interacting with the animals and engaging with the fascinating people at each camp. Two of our favorite safari guides, Estiaan and Aaron, will likely never forget us because of all of the questions we asked!

Africa is a beautiful and unforgettable place, and our family made memories that will forever remain close to our hearts. We hope to return in the future!

Wow! My safari was a peak experience. 15 days in 5 camps in Botswana and everything flowed beautifully. I can’t thank John and the ladies enough for going that extra mile to ensure everything was perfect. And, I can’t wait to plan next year’s trip.

We have used Opulent Africa since 2010 and have not had any sort of problem actually exactly the opposite.
They are totally professional and think of the client in every which way.
We do at least 1 safari to Africa every year and recently twice a year and John Harvey has been more than helpful and appreciative in our favour!
I have a breathing problem and the thoughtfulness that is put into arranging where we stay - ie not steps or hills to climb - is amazing.
I certainly would not hesitate to recommend Opulent to anyone and certainly do whilst on safari.
I would also mention the friendly and efficient personnel he has working at Opulent.

Opulent Africa organized a one-week safari in Tanzania for our family of four. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who is interested in this type of trip. Donna was our reservation agent, and she worked tirelessly and patiently with me to design a trip that would delight all members of my family. We actually organized and discarded two complete itineraries before coming up with the perfect plan on our third try. (I wouldn't recommend this, but Donna never flinched!)
Our guide David was extremely professional, kind, and attentive. We especially appreciated his knowledge and respect for the wildlife and his careful driving. David has a wealth of knowledge about the wildlife and about the history and culture of Tanzania that added invaluable context to our experience. David worked hard to make sure we saw the animals we were most interested in. He really went the extra mile to make our safari unforgettable.
The hotels and lodges that Opulent Africa booked for us were wonderful. Each property was unique, but the brilliant constant among the all was a friendly, kind and attentive staff. The lodge in the Serengeti even baked a beautiful birthday cake and hosted an impromptu celebration of our daughter's 23rd birthday!
If you can book a trip to Tanzania with Opulent Africa, do it.

Following previous trips to Africa and Vietnam, this was our 3rd holiday arranged via Opulent Africa. Again, the level of service and knowledge from destination selection, to hotel / room choice and activities was excellent. The knowledge and insight is informed by John, his very capable team and their network of contacts who have experienced the recommend locations, camps and activities first hand.

Professional, pleasant, efficient, extremely knowledgeable and very organized. Responsive immediately with all questions and issues. I have been to Africa and on several safaris so the experience was not new to me. But going during the end of year holiday season along with summer demand made arrangements more complex. All was handled with aplomb, deep expertise re the regions we were visiting.. and done with good humor.
My partner and I are both just home from our 5 week South Africa visit and reflecting on the excellent planning done by John and Faith to make this trip most memorable. Thank you! We are already dreaming of our next African adventure and will certainly use Opulent Africa again.

The company were very helpful at all stages particularly when we had to change hotels at the last minute due to the forthcoming Elections.

This was an excellent, magical and unforgettable holiday with the family. Our six nights away, in three different venue's and severn flights was seamless. Throughout the planning process, we were given excellent advice and recommendations that resulted in a holiday of a life time!

My trip to Africa was unforgettable and I am hooked so-to speak! I am sure I will be back. Traveling with Diane was a pleasure and I am sure we will repeat the experience, although I am not sure I will do it as often as she does!!!

Now I know what I would prefer in the future: smaller camps and camps that allow not more than three jeeps at the site. Out of four sites, I like three the most and Selinda Camp was the very best. I was not particularly taken by the Machaba Camp; although we saw a lot of animals, we often had up to 9-11 jeeps at the site. In any case, it was not bad but in comparison, three others and especially Selinda were super.
I 've heard that Selinda will be closed soon and they will install two or three villas there.... It is beyond me, why people need villas in the bush! What is the point to go to safari!! Whatever... people are different.

Great help and support. They made this easy for us. I appreciate the follow up before, during and after our trip. Answered all our questions. Thanks for the great work from Faith and Donna.

We used Opulent Africa as our booking agent to three different tented camps in Tanzania, Africa. Everything went off without a hitch and we were very satisfied with all the arrangements John the owner and his staff made for us. The camps were outstanding, the drivers were knowledgeable and personable. The food was excellent throughout the trip. There were no problems with check ins or pickups during the trip. This was especially satisfying because it involved being picked up at the airport. Transported to a hotel. Transported to three different camps. Flown to the Northern Serengeti and flown back again on bush planes. By the time we were done we had traveled almost 2000km and no problems. Everything was on time and no problems with reservations at all.

Our safari was fabulous thanks to Opulent Africa. The accommodations were excellent as was the itinerary. Each place we stayed was different and we were there for exactly the right amount of time. The food and service was also excellent. The staff was exceptionally friendly and anxious to please and went out of the way to celebrate an anniversary and a birthday with special attention. Our entire family of 20 ranging in ages from 5 to 72 said this was the best trip ever. The perfect way to celebrate a 50th Anniversary.

All was good except we felt the first Land Cruiser needed some updating. The seats were quite hard as compared to some of the other vehicles we saw and also rode in. Our guide SP was the best making the entire experience worthwhile.

This travel agency was great in terms of being helpful and responsive to our needs. They were always available and researched any topic they did not know about.

The only issue encountered was the quality of our hotel in Kagali. It was not the same quality as the others and felt that they should have made a different choice.

Although our accommodations in Rwanda with the gorillas we fine, it would have been nice to have been give more information about the facility and a choice of where to stay.

These were minor issues and did not take away from our trip. They were wonderful to work with and had expertise in the locations we visited. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Excellent service throughout whilst we planned a self-drive, small lodge/camp trip in Namibia. Always helpful and supportive. Every arrangement worked re car hire, accommodation, flights, transfer to Victoria Falls and a fabulous 4 days in Hoanib Camp. Faith's enthusiasm was infectious. Every aspect of our much dreamed of trip exceeded expectation and we loved every single moment of our month in a truly exceptional country. Thank you to the Opulent team for making a dream come true.

SAFARI AT ITS BEST

I have to say that the two properties that we stayed in were fantastic.

Ngala Tented camp is a very luxurious 9 room hotel right in the middle of the action. We ven had a lion kill a Nyala outside our tent at night. I consider this property a hidden gem and I hope it stays that way.

Ulusaba is located in the Sabe Sand Reserve so the sitings were completely different that at Ngala. It was very nice to have such a different experience. We loved the bonfire party, dinner in the wine cellar and the observatory. The hotel itself has the amenities of a larger lodge but with the convenience of just a few guests. Congratulations to Sir Richard Branson for this beautiful property.

Service at both lodges was just incredible.

This is our second trip to Africa through Opulent Africa and, again, they did an amazing job. John and Faith were so responsive and helpful all along the way. I gave some general information as to what we wanted to do and see and they took care of the rest. This trip was to celebrate a milestone birthday and they including wonderful surprises in the trip too. I would definitely use them again on our next trip to Africa and can highly recommend them!

Opulent Africa was amazing from start to finish. All we did was give them a budget, time frame and a general idea of the activities we were interested in, and they took it from there! They asked our opinions throughout the process of what they were suggesting for our trip, leaving it completely up to us. I was SO impressed by the fully detailed itinerary, from the times of flights and pick ups to the actual driving directions and maps! They answered every silly question we had and were very quick to respond back to us. I would recommend Opulent Africa in a heart beat to anyone wishing to travel to Africa and not knowing AT ALL what to expect! I would absolutely use them again when we go back there someday! :)
