We are a physically fit, 50-something English-speaking couple with no Chinese language skills. Our only previous visit to China was on a cruise ship that stopped in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, for which we had applied for and received a 10-year multiple-entry China Tourist Visa. From 17-27 October 2017, my wife and I returned to China for a tailor-made, private, 10-day tour of the interior of China. This trip included visits to the following cities: Beijing, Datong, Pingyao, Taiyuan, Zhengzhou, Dengfeng, Luoyang, Xian, Chengdu, Suzhou and Shanghai.

Overall, we had an excellent trip, saw and experienced amazing sites, and thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in the Chinese culture. ChinaOdysseyTours arranged for six different tour guides and drivers in each of the major areas we visited, each of which took good care of our safety and ensured that we stuck to our planned itinerary, but offered flexibility where possible.

All transportation costs, including airfare, train fare, and local transportation, was included. Breakfasts were complimentary at each 3 and 4-star hotel that we stayed at, but all other meals, as well as personal expenses, were not included. Tips were also not included, and the suggested gratuity guidance provided by ChinaOdysseyTours was CNY50-70 per traveler per day for the guide and CNY30-40 per traveler per day for the driver. For a 10-day tour for two, this worked out to about CNY1600-2200 total, or about $300 for tips.

Our pre-tour communication and coordination, including numerous emails and iterations to customize our itinerary and experience, was conducted consistently and expertly by Mr. Reinself Wei. His communication skills are excellent, always repeating and responding to EVERY question or concern, using very good English. Each email and interaction with him, including a phone call in country at the beginning of our tour to check on us and welcome us personally to China, was friendly, professional and left us full of confidence that we would be well taken care of, both before, during, and after our visit.

We started with an idea of what we wanted to see in China, and a basic time-frame and budget. After extensive research on the Internet, including reading numerous reviews and travel organization recommendations, we contacted three reputable tour providers, and very early on, we were very impressed with ChinaOdysseyTours (a sub-group of MyOdysseyTours), and chose them as our tour provider. Reinself was assigned as our Travel Consultant, and in response to our initial contact, he asked a few clarifying questions and then prepared a detailed itinerary of exactly what we asked for, including price quote. Once we had reviewed the first draft itinerary, Reinself politely and expertly made recommendations of how we could improve the plan, based on the time of year, our budget, as well as attempting to balance the visits to temples, monasteries, cultural sites, and natural areas. We iterated the itinerary back and forth six times as we honed in on the perfect tour for us, ensuring that we would have a good, full experience, but not too full. In hind-sight, his recommendations were spot-on and our trip was great and met all expectations.

Odyssey has arranged two tours for me: a tour of Northern India in June 2017, and a tour that will visit locations in China, Cambodia, and Japan in June 2018. The tour of India was an expansion of a basic tour listed on the India Odyssey website. Odyssey added two locations that were not listed, that I requested. The entire tour went as planned. The tour that I have arranged for June 2018 is a custom tour, and Queenie Yang of Odyssey, who supervised my tour of India, successfully arranged my custom request for the upcoming Asia tour. I strongly recommend Odyssey to travelers who want to take a basic tour listed on their website, or a customized tour. Travel arrangements between locations, appearance of guides and drivers, and hotel reservations happened as planned for the tour of India, and I am confident the same will happen on the upcoming tour. I have great confidence in Queenie Yang and Odyssey Tours.

We had a wonderful, well organised trip to India and Nepal early in 2017. Mavis Jiang always replied to my emails regarding changes to the itinerary promptly offering helpful suggestions when needed. Our accommodation and driver were of a high standard. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mavis and her company to others.

I selected My Odyssey Tours for a trip to Vietnam with my 18yr old daughter based on the positive reviews from Tripadvisor. I was skeptical using a tour company based in another country, but my travel consultant, Foring Huang, did an excellent job planning my customized two week trip and exceeded my expectations. All of the hotels, guides and tours were well planned and high quality. I am a seasoned traveler and would highly recommend My Odyssey Tours and have already recommended them to my friends traveling to Indochina.

We were looking for a very customized trip for two covering 7 countries in 6 weeks. I reached out to odyssey with low expectations. What Owen proposed was incredible. We made few adjustments and booked.

Throughout the trip I was really surprised at the attention to detail that was evident. I did not need to worry about anything. All information was provided in advance and with the right level of detail. If I needed something I contacted him and whatever it was was taken care of. While traveling I realized that he was particularly skilled at putting together a well balanced trip including culture, nature, history, food, experiences etc He allowed us to experience the culture while keeping travel comfortable.

I have already recommended this company to friends and will certainly use them again.

Myself and my husband went on a private tour to India (visiting Dehli, Jaipur and Agra) and Nepal (Kathmandu). Queenie was very helpful with arranging all the trip details for us plus keeping regular contact by email or phone to make sure we were happy with the holiday. Our driver Virginda was very good to us and made driving around India comfortable for us. All our tour guides in India and Nepal were excellent and had lots of knowledge about the local area... our favorites were the tour guides in Jaipur and Kathmandu (sorry I've forgotten their names). All of the hotels were great to stay in. The Florence hotel and staff in Dehli was very good. Our favourite hotel for the whole trip and staff were at the one in Nepal (The Tibet hotel). The staff were lovely and we loved all the colours/pictures in the hotel.

The only things we would change is the hotel in Jaipur (Leisure Inn Grand Chanakya)... nothing wrong with the hotel itself but a lot of the staff could not speak English and when we asked questions we felt we were being a nuisance to them because they seemed so uncomfortable talking to us. If I could make a suggestion, perhaps 'The Fern' in Jaipur would be a better option. We liked 'The Fern' in Agra the most in India out of all the hotels we stayed in and saw on their leaflet that they have another hotel in Jaipur and wished we could have stayed there also if we knew how good 'The Fern' would be, their staff and facilities.

Also the Visa on arrival situation for Nepal was annoying as there is a sign above the counter saying they accept card payments but when we got to the counter they said they only accept cash and accept USD or GBP only and would not accept Nepali currency. The only ATM machine available accepted mastercard only which we did not have. Luckily we were able to change the Nepali currency back to GBP and had exactly £40 to pay the Visa fees or else I'm not sure whether we would have been able to be granted access into the country. Please Queenie if you could advise future customers about this so they have enough cash in hand to pay the visa fee and have less hassle then that would be helpful.

But overall there was absolutely nothing wrong with the trip itself. We enjoyed the tour, were well looked after and would recommend My Odyssey Tours to future customers! 5/5 stars for their service and I would not hesitate to book another holiday with them again!

First time to use Odyssey--recommended through our travel agent--worked with Queenie who was engaging and accommodating--Our hotels were great particularly the Oberoi in Agra--best hotel we have ever been to! Our guides were knowledgeable and friendly--very nice to arrange some shopping sites for us in Jaipur--they changed our schedule to fit into our time frame--worked out great!--would use again

Our travel consultant, Foring, provided terrific service to us when booking our holiday in Vietnam and Cambodia. Her responses to our questions were prompt and clear. She allowed us to customize our holiday to include all of the things we wanted to see. She also arranged flights from North America for us at a price that we were unable to find our selves.

The tours were exactly as described in the literature. Two of the four local guides we were assigned were amazing. All guides spoke English and were very accommodating to our wishes.

We will definitely use Odyseey on our next adventure to Asia.

My daughter and I went on the 8-day Golden Triangle tour of India October this year with Odyssey Tours. Kyle Li was our travel consultant.
He patiently answered all my questions and made suggestions to ensure that our tour was exactly as we wished. He consistently responded by email/wechat promptly even on holiday. Everything was arranged very clearly.

Our driver was Mr. Vijay. He's very experienced, carefully, well-mannered, expert driver. The car was clean and supplied with bottled water, fruits, snacks each day. It amazed me there was wireless hotspot in the car. We had wifi anytime. It made my daughter so happy during the tour. We truly appreciated his service and good driving.
On top of this, we appreciated our Odyssey tour representatives to meet us at each hotel and helped us with checkin, Arrival and departure in New Delhi. The best thing, Odyssey tour lent us a local cell phone to borrow, and let us can contact them anytime.

Great coordination, well planned and fab driver! The communication was great with all. The driver was key to a great trip. He went over and above the call of duty. Lots of laughs and fun with the guides and staff at the hotels. We took mum who needed assistance in a wheelchair. We had a helper who was great also. We chose My Odyssey Tours for our first adventure to India. The itinerary prepared for us looked ideal and the costs reasonable, it turned out to be perfect.
From arriving in New Delhi and being met at the airport by the representative to 13 days later dropped off at the airport by the same representative everything planned went like clockwork. We felt to be in safe hands at each location and could not have wished for a better service.
We must mention our guides in each location, Raj in New Delhi, Raj in Varanasi, Ajay in Amritsar, Abbi in Jaipur and Rissy in Agra. All were efficient, knowledgeable and made us welcome in their city and ensured we were comfortable and safe. Apologies if the names are not the correct spelling.
Our driver (Karan) for the last five days of the tour was superb and really looked after us.
Overall My Odyssey tours were excellent from start to finish and we shall not hesitate in recommending them and we will be planning a second visit to India with them.
