UNMITIGATED SCAM
UNMITIGATED SCAM: Demanded Full Payment Upfront, Failed the Job, and STOLE 25%! Do not ever trust Mr. Appliance—they are running an absolute racket. We hired them for a stove exhaust job, and before they even touched a single tool, they aggressively demanded the entire cost upfront. Foolishly, we trusted them and paid in full. That was our first mistake. On the day of the scheduled repair, the technician showed up, took one look at the job, and openly admitted he did not have the ability, training, or knowledge to complete the work. Instead of doing his job, he told us to contact the manufacturer. They pocketed our hard-earned money for a service they were completely unqualified to perform. It gets worse. When we demanded our money back for their total failure, they flagrantly stole 25% of our total payment as a "fee" for a job they canceled because of their own incompetence. To top it all off, the repairman—who doubled as a slimy, high-pressure salesman—was incredibly secretive, shady, and untrustworthy from start to finish. They are predatory, incompetent, and deceitful. Do not let them pressure you into paying upfront for work they cannot do. Save your money, protect your home, and look literally anywhere else.
Over price service!
Mr. Appliance is a total scam! charge high service price for the work. Qouted me 129$ for service call, end up paying over 300$ to fix a dishwasher. I could have bought new one at that price. Never again i would never used their service again. Live and learn.
$1025 Freezer repair causing more problems
My freezer stopped working and a technician was sent out which informed me it would be $1025 to have it repaired. I weighed that against a new refrigerator at about $2000. A week later technician came out,” fixed” the problem with a one year guarantee. After he left, neither the refrigerator nor the freezer worked. They can come back in a day or two to see what the problem is.
UPDATE… I will be getting nearly a full refund because when they fix the first problem, they blew out the condenser. Much arguing and I will be getting about $800 back.
Poor service. Over priced to fix nothing.
Called Mr Appliance on Sunday to report that my refrigerator was not cooling. I mentioned that the compressor was not running, only the fan. They sent a serviceman on Monday morning. After around 5 minutes, he said the compressor was not running. I asked if he had a compressor with him. He said they don't replace compressors. At that, he gave me a bill for $200 for confirming my observations.
He didn't even give me the name of a company that did, until I pressed him. He looked it up on the Internet. How sad is that!
I would give less stars if possible
I would give less stars if possible. I am having an issue with my less than 5 year old fridge- not cooling and tripping a breaker every few hours. The tech that came out was very nice. I was charged $500 to replace my control board. The tech told me to wait until the evening to start using the fridge again. The fridge never did get cool and continued tripping the breaker. I defrosted my freezer over night and then the fridge started cooling again but was still tripping the breaker. The tech came out again and said it must be an electrical issue. Plugged the fridge into a different circuit and it still tripped- so it was not electrical - it is something with the fridge. Mr. Appliance is now telling me that I will need to pay them more money to do a "deeper diagnosis". I have already paid $500 and am in the same boat I was in prior to calling them to repair it. Cassie (assuming the office manager) is talking about how they need to be compensated for their time to come back out. I am really not understanding how she thinks they are entitled to more money when they cant even fix the issue. I paid a diagnostic fee and they cant figure it out- so I am not sure why I would pay them more.
"Choose Mr. Appliance for simple, upfront pricing on appliance repair services. Your total cost is confirmed before repairs begin, with no hidden fees." LIE
" Mr. Appliance stands behind appliance repair services in Minnesota with a one-year parts and labor warranty " LIE
"Neighborly Done Right Promise" If the work is not done right, the fix is provided at no extra cost to the customer - LIE
I would not recommend this company if you need any repairs done.
⭐☆☆☆☆ Extremely Disappointed with…
⭐☆☆☆☆ Extremely Disappointed with Refrigerator Repair Service
I am writing this review to share my extremely frustrating experience with this company’s refrigerator repair service and the lack of effective communication and resolution throughout the process.
My refrigerator originally developed a leak. After it was serviced and I was told it was repaired, I restocked my fridge and purchased over $500 worth of groceries, only to discover that the refrigerator was still leaking.
On June 11, I contacted the company again to report the ongoing issue. I was informed that the technician was out of town for training, and despite my work schedule as a nurse, I was not scheduled until July 10. This delay was very concerning given that I had already taken steps to address the issue and had just restocked my refrigerator.
Unfortunately, the problem continued. On August 4, I again reached out after noticing the refrigerator was still leaking and was scheduled for service on August 7. During that visit, the technician resealed the unit and explained that the original sealant had not been sufficient and that this repair should resolve the issue.
However, the refrigerator is still leaking to this day, despite multiple service visits and two separate parts being installed that I was told would fix the problem.
Communication has also been extremely poor. I made multiple attempts to reach someone and specifically requested to speak with a manager on August 14 and August 17, but did not receive a timely response. When I finally did speak with a manager, the conversation was unprofessional and argumentative rather than focused on resolving the issue.
I was offered a refund for a part, but only if I returned it. This is not a reasonable solution, as returning the part would leave my refrigerator in worse condition than it was after the first repair. While the refrigerator was leaking initially, it was not missing parts, and I should not be left with an incomplete or further damaged appliance after multiple failed repair attempts.
At this point, I am extremely dissatisfied. The refrigerator is still not functioning properly, and the repeated delays, lack of communication, and handling of my concerns have been unacceptable.
I would not recommend this service based on my experience.
Read the small print!! Really bad business.
They came out to replace the seal on my Liebherr Freezer. The technician dumped out my full bin of ice as he was working on the unit. After he put the freezer back together ice maker stopped working. They would not come back out w out a steep charge even after technician said I was due to free repair ?? The person I spoke w at the company was like a computer and keep reminding me of the small print on my receipt. After weeks of nonsense I gave up..Very bad business..Shame on them!!!!
Had an issue with our dishwasher
Had an issue with our dishwasher. Looked all over the place for the issue (error code made it seem like a drain issue), but all the drains were clear. Called to make an appointment on Sunday, told we would have someone call us Monday with the details. No one called so we called back Monday afternoon, and we were told there was no record of our call. Told the earliest appointment was Friday. They called Friday after noon, AN HOUR BEFORE OUR APPOINTMENT, and canceled. Rescheduled for the following Wednesday. Guy finally shows up, tells us it's $500 to replace a valve (incoming water, not outgoing), and to expect to do this every 5 years or so (calcium build up in the water). He refused to give me a part number, or a breakdown in price for "legal reasons," and I told him to leave. Still got charged $150 for literally nothing.
DO NOT USE! FIND SOMEONE LOCAL TO DO YOUR REPAIRS!

If I could give less than one star
If I could give less than one star, I would.
My dryer has been broken for over two months, and Mr. Appliance has been out five different times to repair it. You would think an appliance repair company would know how to fix a dryer, but that has not been my experience.
On the second visit, the technician told me the dryer was fixed. As soon as he left, I tried to use it, and it still didn't work. Another technician came out, diagnosed a different issue, and ordered parts. Since then, they've been back three more times with no resolution.
The last technician took my dryer apart, then told me he didn't have the tools to put it back together and left my dryer in pieces. No one from the company ever called to explain what was happening or apologize.
To make matters worse, every time I call, I only reach the scheduling department. They refuse to transfer me to the local office or someone who can actually help. At one point, they even admitted they couldn't locate the parts they had ordered. I was supposed to have another appointment tomorrow, but they just called to cancel because the replacement part they've had for three weeks is apparently broken.
After more than two months, five service calls, multiple canceled appointments, poor communication, and a dryer that is still not repaired, I have completely lost confidence in this company.
If you're looking for an appliance repair service, I strongly recommend choosing a company that can actually repair appliances.
A hardly used LG microwave costs me…
A hardly used LG microwave costs me $119.00 to just look at. I offered to bring the microwave in to them. They said that is their fee... very steep. I would not recommend. A new microwave is the way to go and skip this service company entirely. Kate was not helpful.
Mr. Appliance Greenville - Zebulon

Repair mistake
Polite service tech however repair re-assembly was not completed correctly which resulted in the refrigerator operating improperly freezing items that burst causing me to disassemble, clean up mess and reconnect properly.
Now the company is disputing my claim, basically saying I am lying, after I reassembled properly and the unit is now working properly.
Would not recommend using.
Worst service call ever
Worst service call ever! The problem was a squealing clothes dryer. The service tech removed the tub and found a worn belt and pulley. Didn't have in the truck so he ordered it. Three days later he texts me that he is coming at 3 pm. I'm about to get in my car and he shows up. Makes me a half hour late. Gives me the bill of almost $400. One labor hour, one ten dollar rubber belt, one twenty dollar pulley, $400. Outrageous! They are not even worth the 1.6/5.0 they got. Skip this company. And they wanted $9 to run a credit card. Horrible experience,!
If I could give zero stars, I would
If I could give zero stars, I would. Do not use this company for your repairs in Madison, Wisconsin.
It took 4 or 5 visits for our refrigerator ice maker to be repaired successfully and cost us about $600. The inside door panel was removed and replaced several times in the course of the fix. The technician used an electric screwdriver, which must've stripped the plastic hole that the screws go into, so now the inside door panel keeps falling off. He screwed it back on in the last visit, but it fell off almost immediately after he left, again. We made a service call and waited days for them to return. He came back today and told us that the panel falling off was basically our fault and was unrelated to our repair with the ice maker. Not sure how we could've caused it, since it was perfectly fine until he messed with it and had to remove and replace it several times in the course of fixing the icemaker. He told us that he could fix it today, but said that he wouldn't do it for "no money" and that he'd already done us a favor by fixing our icemaker. We said that it was clearly an issue he'd created during the course of the ice maker fix. He responded that he wouldn't do it for no money, again, picked up his stuff, stormed out of our house, and drove away. Wow. Seems to us that if you break something, you should fix it without charging. Worst experience we've ever had with a service technician.
Everything is handled through a call center at who knows where, and you can't get to the local office without going through a call center. The web page says they're locally owned, which, I guess, we took to mean that we'd be speaking to someone locally when we called in to report the issues. We could report our problem through the call center, but had to reiterate the story multiple times. Surely, they should have records showing the activity that has happened, but every time, we had to start from zero and repeat the whole story of what happened at each visit. Now, we're waiting for a manager to call. We'll see if that happens ...
Shady business practices
I have never written a negative review before, but I believe people should know about my experience with Mr. Appliance.
I called them to repair my parents' washer and dryer, both of which were only four years old. The technician diagnosed both machines as needing parts. We were charged a $150 diagnostic fee for each machine, even though it was a single service call and the washer and dryer were right next to each other. Since they said they could fix the machines, we agreed to the repairs.
The company returned three separate times, but nothing was ever repaired. It became clear that the original diagnosis was incorrect. The technician even told us he felt bad about the situation and said he would only charge one diagnostic fee because neither machine had been fixed. He also told us we would receive a credit for the $400 we had already paid.
When no refund arrived, I called the office. Instead of the credit we were promised, I was told we would only receive $85 back. We paid $400 and ended up with two machines that still didn't work because the diagnosis was wrong. Despite this, the company refused to refund the diagnostic fees as promised.
My father is a senior living on a fixed budget, so this was a significant financial burden. Based on our experience, I feel the company handled this situation unfairly. If you're considering using this company, I encourage you to ask detailed questions about their diagnostic and refund policies before committing to any repairs. Better yet , skip this company altogether due to their shady business practices
We paid over $500 for a microwave…
We paid over $500 for a microwave repair that lasted less than a week. Now Mr. Appliance will not call us back!
