We recently completed an incredible 17-day private tour of Peru for a group of eight people, organized by Machu Travel Peru, and the experience exceeded all our expectations.

From the moment we arrived in Lima until our departure, every detail was exceptionally well planned and organized. Our itinerary included Lima, Peru Amazon, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain, Lake Titicaca and Arequipa to experience the remarkable diversity of Peru’s landscapes, culture, and history. Train rides to Machu Pichu and Puno with beautiful scenery, relaxing, entertaining and with lovely food.

The hotels selected throughout the trip were excellent, comfortable, and well located. We enjoyed a wonderful variety of authentic Peruvian cuisine, with many memorable dining experiences along the way. The company was also very accommodating and flexible whenever adjustments were needed.

A special thank you goes to the guides, who were knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about sharing their country with us. Their insights greatly enriched our experience. The drivers were professional and reliable, and the vehicles were comfortable and well maintained, making even the longer travel days enjoyable.

We recently returned from the most amazing trip to Peru to celebrate our 20th anniversary, and we can’t thank Machu Travel Peru enough for helping make it so memorable! The level of service they provided was incredible!

From start to finish, everything was exceptionally well organized. A few days before our trip, a WhatsApp group was created just for us, which made communication seamless. We were able to ask questions at any time and the team was always incredibly responsive and helpful.

All of our guides and drivers were kind, friendly, and very knowledgeable. We spent four days with our Cusco guide Guillermo and our driver Omar, and they were both fantastic: professional, informative and a pleasure to be with. Having private transportation and a dedicated guide really enhanced our experience and allowed us to explore at our own pace.

All of the restaurants booked through Machu Travel were excellent, with great food, service and beautiful locations.

Highlights of our trip included our day trip to Machu Picchu (with train and bus ride to the top) and a breathtaking day trip to Rainbow Mountain. We left at 4:00 am. with our guide José, driving through stunning landscapes and charming villages, with a breakfast stop along the way. Reaching Rainbow Mountain at 5,000m was an unforgettable experience - highly recommended!

We also spent 3 nights and 4 days in the Amazon Rainforest near Puerto Maldonado at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción. The property was absolutely stunning and staying in a cabana surrounded by nature was so special. Our guide Frank was incredibly knowledgeable and fun, and we saw so much wildlife on the various tours. The on-site restaurant was also excellent and the spa amazing!

This was truly the trip of a lifetime, filled with unforgettable moments and breathtaking beauty. Thank you, Machu Travel Peru, for making our 20th anniversary celebration so special. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

I had an amazing experience exploring Lima and Cusco in just 6 days! I learned so much about both cities' incredible history. Machu Travel organized an amazing "Culinary Adventure" in Peru for us. They covered every detail for us, including many meals and drivers, so we were able to simply enjoy.

There's so much to cover that it was a struggle to narrow it down to a few highlights.

-Our guide Jose was a real highlight. His energy was contagious and his knowledge of Peruvian history was endless. He provided so much great context to go along with all the amazing sights. We met him on day 3 in Cusco and spent the following 4 days with him in the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Cusco.

-On day one we were driven from Lima to the Tacama winery and enjoyed a private tour and tasting with their house sommelier. It was beautiful and delicious. The journey then continued down to the Huacachina Oasis where we sand boarded and had a thrilling dune buggy ride. Overall, it was a long day in the car, but worth it!

-Christian from Sky Kitchen lead us on a market tour, followed by a 40 fruit tasting, and 3 course Peruvian cooking class. It was delicious. fun and we learned a lot.

-The Sacred Valley and all of it's historic sights are incredible.

-Machu Picchu exceed all of our expectations, it was truly amazing. The hike up Huayna Picchu was fun and provided the best view of Machu Picchu.

-Hacienda Sarapampa in the Sacred Valley is stunning. We enjoyed a private 4 course lunch that was authentic and delicious.

We are so grateful we went with Machu Travel for our Peru experience! I cannot recommend this agency enough. We did Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, and the Amazon rainforest. Their professionalism was evident from the start, answering all of our questions and guiding us on next steps for everything. In addition to tailoring the itinerary to our interests, they also took care of everything: hotels, drivers, tickets to certain attractions, tour guides, and domestic travel. All of the hotels we stayed at had excellent customer service and delicious breakfast (which was included as part of our package). They truly made this experience stress-free! My husband and I found ourselves saying (multiple times throughout the trip) “thank goodness we have a tour guide and driver for this!” Our tour guides were so passionate and knowledgeable, and fantastic to be around with (thank you, Sue, Álvaro, Guillermo and Free’t!). Our drivers were always on time and excellent at maneuvering the traffic and windy roads (thank you, Bryan, Martin, and Jesus!) and finally thank you to Maribel and Sol for clearly communicating with us about next steps.
