I ordered beef organ meat and oysters. The products arrived two days late. The label on the meat had no use by date and there was also no label and no use by date on the oysters. The oysters were OPEN - meaning dead and needed to be discarded. The absence of food labelling with a use by date is in contravention of regulation 20 of the Food Labelling Regulations 1996
Exceptionally Poor Service & Dishonest Conduct
This is, without question, one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.
I ordered fresh duck from LondonGrocery.net for delivery the week before Christmas. I was told the order had been shipped, yet the company could not provide any tracking details. Shortly afterwards, they admitted — blaming a “technical error” — that the order had not been shipped at all.
Because I was away over Christmas and could not accept delivery, I requested a refund. I was told this would be processed within 3–5 working days.
That was 18 days ago.
I have since followed up multiple times and was again told that finance would process the refund in another 3–5 days. Nothing happened. Instead, I received repeated excuses about “bank processing times”, which simply do not hold up.
The issue here is not the money — it is the pattern of misinformation, delays, and broken promises.
I am equally disappointed in myself for not reading the reviews beforehand, because the feedback here and on Facebook is remarkably consistent: poor service, unreliable fulfilment, and refunds that do not materialise without persistent chasing.
Based on my experience, this company is dishonest in its communication, unreliable in its operations, and cannot be trusted to resolve issues once they arise.
My recommendation is simple: avoid, avoid, avoid.

Ordered turkey for the 24th December- got an email the night before saying they had swapped it for goose - without consent and no regard for allergies - this company needs reporting to health and safety as well as trading standards. Called and emailed loads of times - no response other that one text saying “sorry - merry Christmas” the cheek of them to say this … never ordering again

Excellent company , ordered for 23rd Dec but courier didn’t deliver . They chased the order & contacted me on Xmas day to make sure I was happy ! Very impressed , will definitely order again !

A big shout out to out to the agent who eventually handled my problem. I get the feeling that they are swimming against the tide of a less than user-friendly system. I had a delivery scheduled, but the tracking page didn’t work. There was no text from DPD. The WhatsApp chatbot was very limited. And there was no phone number on the website or reply to an email query. The WhatsApp number went to voicemail. The first contact with an agent didn’t seem like there was a human there. No names or niceties. But, after that, things improved. And a very helpful person provided tracking details, just as the package arrived. Suggest the company makes life easier for customers and staff alike

The order never arrived despite paying their high delivery fees. There was extremely poor communication and they have shown no effort to return my money. Avoid this company at all costs.

Ordered a large amount of cakes, cancelled within 30 minutes of placing the order, 7 weeks later the refunds have not been issued despite being reassured multiple times.

This company is a scam - AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I ordered an item that was meant to be delivered after 3 days. After no delivery and no update, I e-mailed their company only to be told that the order hadn't been sent because the item had expired. And that they would send me the correct items when they restocked. Two weeks later, still no update - I cancelled the order and asked for an update. They were very responsive and said they would refund straightaway. After 2 more weeks and no word, I reached out again. They responded and told me that they were in the process of sending the refund. At that point I raised a dispute with my bank and received my money back. Don't be fooled by their level of responsiveness. THEY ARE A SCAM!
No refund for 5+ months now
I spent £80 in April, they sent the wrong item. They took 2 months to schedule a return. Still no refund and its been 5 months. I message every other week which sometimes they reply to but recently they stopped.
Horrendous customer service!
Placed an order back in April 2025 which arrived incomplete, they promised to replace missing item in 2-3 weeks but didn't. I have been requesting my refund since June and still not received it despite several emails.

Waiting for refund for over a month and I just keep receiving polite emails with the same excuses that people mention below.

TERRIBLE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. They take your money, don't send you the product. They don't refund you (keep saying you'll have the refund by the end of the week, but it doesn't come). I've been waiting for over 3 months for a refund. They keep pretending there's issues with their finance department. I've reported them to trading standards. Please avoid them. As from a lot of the other reviews, I'm not the only one this has happened to.
