I am writing this comment because I expect my issue to be handled immediately.

I lost a key for my Kryptonite lock and ordered a replacement key from kryptonitelock.com. When someone orders a replacement key, it is obviously an urgent matter. However, after reading the reviews here, I have learned that shipping can take several months, sometimes even half a year, and that communication with the company is almost impossible.

This is completely unacceptable. I need the replacement key now — waiting several months defeats the whole purpose of ordering one.

In Europe, it is standard to receive order updates, shipping information, and tracking numbers. In this case, there has been no information at all since I placed the order.(except for the order confirmation)

Therefore, I demand that my order be cancelled immediately and my payment refunded unless the key is shipped and delivered no later than November 12, 2025.

Even though one bike light stopped working after 1 year, there was no answer on the claim for 1 month, when I called they answered in under 3 minutes and they will send a replacement. Nice consumer service and I hope the new one will last longer.

I ordered a replacement key on August 20. One month later I asked for an update on the order. I received a response that the key would be sent the following week. No Key. Three more requests for status have gone unanswered. It is now 2 months since my order and no key, no update. Irresponsible customer service. (Conf. #: 1755693838510)

Update: After posting this review on Trustpilot, I was finally contacted by Kryptonite, and they quickly sent me a replacement key and apologized for the delay. They also committed to refund my original payment, but I do not see that they followed through on this.
In any case, I appreciate that Trustpilot provided a platform for getting this matter resolved.

New Update: Kryptonite did credit me as promised. I missed it upon review of my statement. Thanks for the follow-through.

After aboiut 5 years service, my Kryptonite Evolution D-lock began to 'stick' when I attempted to lock / unlock it, with the key sticking at 90 degrees.

I emailed details to Kryptonite customer services, and at their request sent on a photo of the lock, which I had registered on purchase.

Kryptonite decided to replace the lock: I had expected them to arrange for it to be serviced.

They sent a replacement from the USA to London within 48 hours.

Kryptonite Locks are hard as hell to breakthrough it took me over an hour to break through a kryptonite lock i was testing their locks well made lock.

The most klunky, difficult to lock bike lock I've ever encountered. Had it now for over a year and I have problems with it everyday. Time to get something more bicycle friendly and easier to use.

They are too lazy to even provide any instructions of how to mount the lock on your bike and instead just point you to their youtube page and expect you to go hunting for it. Haven't even used the lock and I don't like this company

I've been using a couple of Kryptonite locks for years — some for over 15 years — without any problems. Recently, I ordered additional keys for three locks through the Safe Key Program, and it only cost me €7!

Three weeks later, I received six perfect keys in my german postbox.

I really trust Kryptonite, even if customer communication isn't their strongest point. This program is awesome and yet another reason to recommend this high value products!

I've used these locks for years because they're secure and fix soundly to bike frames.

Recently needed to replace a couple of keys. One set arrived and worked great. They didn't have the blank for the second set so they sent me a whole new lock.

Friendly, great lock, great customer service.

Appalling have not heard back from them sent about a dozen emails about my claim have not even got a response would avoid this company for future reference.

I ordered keys for my lock directly from Kryptonite.com. Two of the keys did not work. I submitted an online request for a refund and never received a response. Phone calls to the companies number go straight to voice mail and are never returned.

Kryptonite hat mir Anfang April 2 Ersatzschlüssel für 45 USD inkl. Versand verkauft, danach gab es keine Reaktion mehr und auch keinen Versand. Ich habe ein Ticket eröffnet und erhalte keine Reaktion, nachdem sich vor 3 Wochen jemand für meine Geduld bedankt hat.
Eine Klärung über Amazon, wo ich das Schloss gekauft habe, aber über die es keine Ersatzschlüssel gibt, ist nicht möglich, weil die Bestellung nicht über sie lief.
Also niemand ist zuständig, Reaktionen gibt es nicht, und ich muss mir ein neues Schloss kaufen. Finger weg!

Update 25.6.: Gestern kamen die bestellten Schlüssel an, und sie passen auch. Zwar weicht der Preis auf dem Lieferschein deutlich von der bezahlten Summe ab, aber was soll’s. Danke jedenfalls - ich ändere auf 2 Sterne.

I've made a claim on the 3rd of April 2025 and they have not replied yet. The confirmation email clearly stated that someone would get in touch. It's now the 11th of May. This is ridiculous. Claim number is 110600

trash. their locks are not good and they will do everything they can to avoid paying you the anti theft protection

Suite à achat antivol Evolution. Fait le job. Attention cependant, comme tout autre antivol, il se vole en quelques dizaines de seconde (mon vélo précédent a été volé à l'aide d'une barre en métal servant à faire levier). De plus, l'assurance additionnelle (moyennant paiement) ATPO proposée exige pour fonctionner que vous transmettiez une photo de l'antivol coupé / cassé (cf les CGU sur leur site) ! Il est évidemment rarissime de le retrouver. Ne tombez pas dans ce piège commercial.

GOOD LOCK, YOU DONT RECEIVE LIGHTED KEY WITH ORDER AS STATED BUT YOU CAN CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND REQUEST THEM TO SEND ONE.

Really horrendous experience with this company. Purchased a lock with Anti-theft protection just to have piece of mind that if something did happen I'd get some sort of compesenation to be able to buy a new one. That day came when someone cut my lock to steal my EBike when I was at the gym one day. As soon as I filed a claim the first reed flag was that they state it takes 30 days for them to respond. Then after finally responding they refused to pay because I couldn't send a picture of the broken lock that the thieve must have took with them -- despite sending the police report with the stated events and CCTV footage.

Can't believe it, simply do not buy from this company.

I took out ATPO insurance with Kryptonite, I had a claim at the end of December, I sent all the requested documents but the
only thing that bothers them is knowing why it took me so long between buying my
bike and buying the lock (6 months) except that I already had one but it was defective so I bought another one in December.
Since then Sandy has been playing dead, she hardly answers emails, I am going to start a process to be compensated, it is unacceptable.

My claim (Claim Number 110308) was approved over two months ago. While I have received the settlement figure, I have yet to be paid despite repeated assurances that payment is "being processed." This delay has left me extremely frustrated. I rely on my bike for daily activities and work, and being without it for this long has caused significant inconvenience. Customer service, which was initially responsive, has now stopped replying altogether. The lack of communication and action is deeply concerning, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this company. It’s simply not worth the hassle.
