I agree, this app is useless, never works when I need it, slow to load, and very frustrating!

Just went to install HP's app for Android, and guess what, they want $70 per year...what a joke

Hvordan kan HP fortsat få folk til at købe deres produkter. I sep. 2024 købte jeg en HP printer/ Smart Tank 7006. Da der var såkaldt Cashback på 500,00kr.
registrerede jeg produktet og forventede at der ville gå penge ind på kontoen. Men ak nej, der er ikke kommet penge fra HP. Jeg har skrevet til dem, men ikke fået svar.

My card expired on the HP Smart app which (I thought) means the auto shipping of the ink would stop until I got it updated, ok no problem, I'll update it and move on with life. I was wrong. Even though I have purchased my printer AND the current ink cartridges IN the printer, HP turned my printer off and will not allow me to print anything. I use this printer for business so it was a little bit of a hiccup on the day it happened, but I just hopped on the app to update my card info, no big deal. Every time I clicked on the option to update or change my card info, it told me "Because you have been inactive for 15 minutes, your session has timed out, please try again later". This was not true as I was actively working on updating my card information. This happened multiple times and over the span of a week. Every day I tried to get into the app to update with no luck and the same " session timed out" pop up. I also tried using a desktop and going through the website where I was met with a completely blank screen when I went to login multiple times. Again, this happened every day for a week, trying to login both on my phone through the app and through the browser portal through multiple desktops and laptops. Now as I try to get ahold of customer service they are not very helpful and not understanding my issue. I have been waiting for them to call me back for an hour. If I could give zero stars, I would. Normally I understand business comes with hiccups and no business is immune to this but to have multiple online portals be down for so long AND zero customer service, I will be getting rid of my HP printer and finding something else.

Poor App - keeps hanging, have tried to use it and reinstall over 2 years. Now just rage uninstalled and using basic microsoft scanner app which is great.. HP only want you to sign up for this app to pump you with adverts and printer cartridges. Very poor show HP - you know better..

Unfortunately only the idea is great! It was a nightmare to register and connect.. the advanced technology has only made it harder to troubleshoot.
The app kept asking me to sign in after every minute that passed saying I have been inactive for 15 minutes. Customer service is only available during set hours and are patronising in their tone like you’re a delinquent! The call disconnected at 6, I couldn’t get through to anyone again and the advisor didn’t bother calling back!!!!

Even after removing/ uninstalling/ reinstalling, cancelling payment plan and resetting it I had no joy. I feel like it’s been a waste of money! I will now have to get something else because it’s just too much headache and stress to deal with!!!

L'application est d'une médiocrité. Beaucoup de bug. Impossible de faire quoi que ce soit (imprimer, scanner... ce qui est propre à ce produit), sans être connecté au site de HP. C'est une véritable honte.

The amount of emotional meltdowns, stress, and fights hp smart has caused in my hine over the Kade few years is ridiculous. When we are on the best of terms, we all refer to it to hp dumb. It has probably printed over 100 of their "help" pages all with steps that don't work. We recently upgraded our wireless internet and the printer simply refuses to recognize the new one. We have tried to tie to 3 phones and a desktop all using the instructions, in addition to direct wifi connection. It is simply impossible. We can print if plugged into the laptop, but since it can't find the network it even fights about that. We often run out of ink while I says we still have some. The ink/ page prices are great but simply not worth the headaches to save a few bucks every 3-6 mos.
All apps and customer service are pretty poor, though I can usually manually order ink when I am out and get it in a couple of weeks. :(
Not great when you really need to print something.
Would not recommend to anyone who wants to keep their sanity.

Suite à un changement d'ordinateur, je dois réinstaller HP Smart et pour scanner, il faut être connecté à son compte, ce qui est déjà un abus. On achète un produit, on doit pouvoir l'utiliser comme on l'entend, notamment sans connexion internet...
Et la, surprise: que ce soit en utilisant mes identifiants ou par une demande de code par email, je dois prouver que je suis un humain en 16 étapes ou plus, très contraignantes pour finalement voir un message "une erreur est survenue" et recommencer.
Après 2 tentatives, j'ai décidé de m'en passer, pour ne pas voir mon ordinateur voler (alors qu'il n'y est pour rien).
C'est juste hallucinant, tout ça pour un utilitaire gratuit à utiliser avec des périphériques achetés ?!?!?
Pourquoi les boites de ce genre deviennent si stupides ?

I have used HP Printers and HP eprint App for many years with very little trouble. However the HP Smart App is the pits! I would go as far to say that I will never buy an HP Printer again, and my present HP printer will soon be destined for the bin. On our android devices it is impossible to print off any documents seamlessly without spending hours adjusting settings, re-logging in etc etc. If you want a seamless printing experience from android devices, DO NOT BUY an HP Printer or attempt to use the HP Smart app!!

I should not have to create another username and password just to use my printer. HP Smart is a complete waste of time and just another way to for HP to have data. It's a printer. Stop making me login.

First of all in order to use this service and get the full use of your printer you have to pay
Second of all It only works intermittently If at all I think h p smart print is a rip off.

I had an HP printer for years, needed to update it - bought the smart tank 530 seduced by the " cheap printing " Then realised only functionality to scan is via the HPSmart App. The most useless app in creation. It beggars belief that any company would consider the response times of that app appropriate for any scanning use. If you do ANY scanning the ONLY way to use an HP printer is to scan efficiently is directly onto a dongle from the printer. SO DONT buy one without that facility . Appalling app If I could give it minus 5 I would .

Application qui bug en permanence, obligée de relancer l'application à chaque fois. Si plusieurs feuilles à imprimer, je suis obligée de les lancer une par une en attendant à chaque fois la fin de l'impression de la précédente. Si j'envoie plusieurs feuilles d'un coup, ça m'imprime trois fois la première feuille et pas les deuxième et troisième feuilles. On achète HP parce que c'est réputé et c'est vraiment pas qualitatif, super merci.

Do not use this app!! I installed it on my phone and laptop. My wife just clicked add printer on her phone. Using the smart app stopped my laptop printing in colour and made the printer cut out half way when using my phone. My wife's phone, without the smartapp, worked fine.

The app with worse the useless, it is malware. It is part of the race to the bottom, with companies only concentrating on making software look shiny and hiding setting.

It took me half an hour to remove all of the smart app and the drivers it has installed. Then I downloaded the driver from hp.com directly (labelled IT professionals only) and it works perfectly.

If you're going to do this, read the entire contract first. We all should.

This app is useless. Absolutely never works.
Needs a complete re-write and serious beta testing.
Totally frustrating. I can spend 30 minutes trying to print one page of a .pdf. Completely unreliable. Even worse with trying to print from a phone.

The app is USELESS! I’ve been paying $5 a month or more for this useless app that never works. Free printables? Forget that! You won’t receive it. Can print anything else but when I use the app to print anything it says failed. I pay $5 or more a month (not even sure anymore) to print 10 pages or less and it’s the most stressful situation anytime I need to print something. 0 out of 5 stars. RUN don’t walk from this terrible plan.

Wat een verschrikkelijk bedrijf. Als je je tijd graag verspilt, en wilt betalen voor niks, dan is dit de printer voor u. Ik denk dat de 1.2 sterren die deze printer kringt wel genoeg zeggen verder.

The HP Smart app is not fir for purpose, you can never log in for hours and it doesn't sync correctly.

This Company should be totally embarrassed with all these reviews.
