We ordered our usual coal from you. We always have the more expensive as it is low in smoke and very little ash.
This time the coal was appalling, we did contact you and a lady phoned my husband from the manufacturer stating that it was the products that were used at the manufacturers that were the problem.
That did not help us at all, we cannot believe that we had so much mess to clear up not once or twice a day but every time we refilled. It also smelled horrible. We won't be using it again and are looking around now to go somewhere else to get our fuel. We are very saddened regarding this as we have had no complaints with you and have been using you from the time we had our burner installed. We feel that we paid for the upgraded bags of fuel and the last ones were worse than the red bags we started with at the beginning. We have never been in such a mess with anything we have had from you before and we know that you do not manufacture it just sell it. Please could you advise as to any other manufacturers you deal with. We have looked ourselves and found a few but you being in the industry so to speak may have a better view of which is the best. I have used housefuel.co.uk for a number of years and after shopping around they are always the cheapest online.
They used to delivery on a pallet by HGV but the last 2 deliveries have been on their own vehicles in individual bags.
I wasn't in when the delivery took place, so they stacked the bags nice & neatly on my drive still leaving me with enough room to get my car back on when I returned. This was 40 bags @ 25kgs each!.
Definitely use them again.

Sadly the quality of products, especially the excessive amount of ash and correlating diminishing heat output, has radically altered very detrimentally.
This has adversley impacted how I would always have rated this company and its products.

Bought pallet full 40 bags . Ad says less ash more heat less smell . What a load of lies worse coal ever bought . So much ash, fire doesn’t give off half the heat used to so stuck with this poor quality coal.

No problem with the heat output but the ash left from the binder used to form the ovals is much more than the advertising suggests. A completely full ash tray after burning three quarters of a coal scuttle of smokeless ovals. On the positive side the ovals slumber very well overnight.

Be careful buying a full pallet or 1/2 pallet from this type of advert because i was caught out the whole 40 bags where complete RUBBISH soaking wet each bag full of wet dust and small broken rubbish didnt burn well at all and smell not very nice contacted seller regarding first lot of bags going into my bunker but the rest of the load was just as bad beware you have been warned

Been running Housefuel Smokeless Ovals in an Aga Little Wenlock for about two months. Got through about 300kg and it is awful! Maybe it doesnt suit my stove because the heat output is dismal and the ash volume almost equals the coal volume! In mid winter, the stove is running from 8am 'til bedtime and burning hardwood, I empty the ash pan every other day. Burning Glolite Ovals, ash pan is full and emptied once a day. Burning Housfuel Smokeless ovals, the ash pan is overflowing twice a day. And the heat output is so poor, I find myself having burning this stuff with a hardwood log. By comparison, it wasn't that cheap ether. Still got more than half a tonne of this stuff to get rid of - it's an absolute chore to use!

Agree with other reviewers, the smokeless ovoids are extremely poor quality, small pieces and full of ash, didn't burn hot, slow to light, and very messy. I didn't look at these reviews before ordering, and only came on here after the company's handling of my complaint about the coal quality, but it is telling that there is a pattern emerging of either people being really delighted, or like me, extremely dissatisfied. Company have offered a partial refund, which has never been received, and they have now said to take it up with my bank.

The delivery experience was something else!! I won't even go there as it probably wouldn't in of itself deterred me from ordering again, but suffice to say there was nothing professional about it.

I can not understand the few poor remarks for this smokeless coal it's does what it says on the bag, they burn perfectly on my dual fuel fire and being my flue is low I need to burn clean and these do. I ordered a ton and glad I did and will certainly order again in the new year. Highly recommend.

this is the worst housefuel(supposed to be smokeless ovals)ive ever purchased,thankfully i only had half a ton ,when opening the bags the ovals are a lot smaller than the ones i usually have (the coal hut,glolite ovals )twice the size of this crap,and where do you people reckon you get less dust with this product...i get hell of a lot more,also there is a lot of broken ovals in the bags,and yes the ovals' are damp,thus making hell of a lot of smoke,until it gets going,buy cheap buy twice,will never use this crap again will go back to my usual supplier,regardless of the cost.And by the way the 5 star reviews on there website are very dubious ,one guy called john had 4 ,5star reviews all exactly the same word for word,all the same date????Read the REAL reviews on Trustpilot before you waste your money with this lot i learnt the hard way.

First time ordering from this company, smokeless ovals. Ok heat outpout for stove only but horrendous ash content! Ash red in colour also, denoting full of non carbon crap. Delivery was fine although a day earlier than named day chosen which was ok on this occasion but not ideal if away etc. Unlikely to use again unfortunately.

This is the second time I've ordered from you and I was very impressed by the quality of the logs and coal last time so re-ordering was a no brainer. There was less than a week between the order being placed and the expected delivery date.

In the past we have used a local company to deliver our fuel . They were reliable always delivered on time usually the following day . Looking to save a little on cost we decided to use Housefuel due to their pricing . A lesson learnt we chose the delivery day as specified on the website , the day arrived but no fuel . I contacted customer services only to be told that there is no guarantee that delivery will be on your chosen day .I was given a new delivery day now well over a week since it was ordered . In future I will go back to supporting my local distributor .

The delivery was on time and the driver was extremely helpful.

We’ve always used anthracite nuts in our room heater but decided to try Stovemaster as it was on offer and have been delighted. It emits good heat, slumbers well overnight and importantly, doesn’t blacken the fire glass. Highly recommended.

The website is very easy to understand and navigate. My Order is always placed in the same spot as asked which I feel is very considerate of the Driver and very convenient for me to unload as other Delivery Companies often leave Parcels anywhere but where you ask! So thank you very much for your service, I certainly appreciate it and won’t be ordering from anyone else.

i have used this company for years,this year the smokeless ovals are bags fuel of smashed ovals and dust, when lite they start to lite up then the fire will go out, i had engineer out the fuel and fire are 100% in great working order, i purchased the coal july 2024 and have just started to use it, i complained to the company and they did not respond i even sent photo no response, i have been with them over 6 years just shows your only a payment nothing more

They were very obliging an put the coal exactly where I
Wanted it with no hassle or issues.
