I read other reviews bemoaning HouseFuel’s delivery service and all I can say is my Coal was delivered on time without any hassle

❌ Poor contact follow-up - I never got a confirmation that my delivery was on route and no one ever returned my email asking for an update. In the end it didn’t matter as it arrived on date I specified, but a response to my email would have been reassuring.

It was just on time, on price and properly delivered.

The product I chose was at the lower cost of the range. The ash content was very high but all ovoids, including premium cost ovoids, seem very high ash and a difficult to deal with ash, powdery and retaining heat.

We have purchased from HouseFuel before and very reasonable priced and lasts a long time.

We've used Housefuel for some years now and have never had any problems with their service, in Al aspects of order . We will use them again in the future as always and would really them to anybody. Plus now that they have introduced PayPals 3 month interest free payment scheme it's even better. We only use coal on our fire but without the government winter fuel fund this year we were so grateful for the 3mth payments as we would have really struggled to afford 2 ton of coal while on offer when it worked out at nearly £1000

Had a phone call from the salesman to ask if we wanted to buy before the winter price hike so we saved £40. We didn’t need or have space for the pallet full at the time the order was placed so delivery was delayed by a month at our request. On the day the delivery was planned was when it went a bit to pot .. delivery between 6-8 .. did state AM or PM or 6am to 8pm so we made contact and they said the delivery would be at 7.30am. The household arrange to all be up and someone took a day off to wait in and planned to go to work after the delivery. Delivery arrived at 11.30am which annoyed a little bit the driver hand-balled 40 bags of coal into our garage so that made up for it. All in all a pretty positive experience and would definitely use again.

From ordering on line to the actual delivery of the fuel, it has been brilliant, what a breeze, the delivery driver was so very helpful too. The fuel itself burns well, projecting a lot of heat. We will be ordering more when the time comes to reorder if the prices remain as good. Brilliant company.

The delivery driver was very helpful getting the pallet as far on to the stone drive, making the final positioning considerably easier.

Can not fault the company or delivery but I have seriously noticed this year that the ash quantity of smokeless ovoids has increased considerably. The ash is also a red colour as opposed to white/grey. Heat output is lower to previous years, which suggests to me that the manufacturer is blending in a pile of muck that is not coal/carbon based, ie, crushed stone or dirt. Maybe a ploy to reduce manufacturing costs while being able to state that it is more environmentally friendly, well maybe so, but if it ain’t going to be able to heat your house at half a grand a tonne and instead of one you need two, what’s the point. Maybe profit?

I purchased this coal thinking was the same as last year. (it was in the same colour bag) Red
this is the worst coal I have ever had, there is a lot of slack (coal dust) with the coal, but more important, it makes twice as much ash, as the hot coal burns itself in the ash you have to regularly rake the fire,
because of this, its difficult to keep the house warm.
I have to empty the ash tray twice a day now, usually only once a day, so am getting at lest twice as much ash.
Can't wait to use it up, I hate it!!
on a plus side, this is the first time I have had a bad batch and the delivery is brillant and well organised.

Fuel was ok but was not delivered on the day aranged.
