I don’t normally leave Reviews, but I have to say how impressed I am with Home Building. From the initial enquiry, the survey by Jake, who spent a long time assessing the possible causes and provided a speedy assessment with no pressure - right through to the work carried out by Jack and Harvey, who were so friendly, likeable, knowledgeable and respectful of our home. They fully explained the work they were doing and left everything so clean and tidy at the end of each day - even mopping the floor! They clearly take a pride in their work and the Company they work for. Thank you all so much - I have previously spent a lot of money trying to sort this issue, and, fingers crossed, you have found the solution. Also appreciate the offer of ongoing advice/help in the future . I would happily recommend you.

We needed damp proofing treatment for our Victorian terraced house and found the service we got from this company to be exemplary from beginning to end. The whole process was carried out thoroughly and professionally. Mark, the surveyor who came to carry out the initial diagnosis clearly explained each step of what he was doing. When we received the quote there was a detailed and easy to understand written description of the work to be carried out, including clear explanation of all the options available to suit our budget.
An appointment was made in extremely short order and all the work carried out by Jack and Harvey was quick and efficient and they were able to answer any and all questions we had. They left our home as spotless as they found it. Some redecoration will be necessary, but that was understood from the beginning. All in all we felt well looked after and there’s a 20 year guarantee on the work.

Richard was so nice. So relieved there was no hard sell (which we have come across before). Also an honest figure quoted with no negotiation that seemed fair and reasonable. No pressure to accept the quote there and then.

From start to finish, from the surveyor to the builders, they were all highly professional, and the work is spot on.

They were very clean and tidy, and nice guys to deal with.

We had damp throughout our basement and the walls needed to be taken back to the brick and then tanked. Jack and Harvey were a great team. They were very considerate and explained in detail what they were doing. They gave great advice on when to re-paint, not to replace the shelves etc. They went above and beyond what was required of the job. Given this was a dirty job, they tidied up each day and at the end not only cleaned the basement but the outside steps leading down to the basement. I cannot praise them high enough. Home Building and Surveying company were polite, punctual and maintained excelled communication right through from Luke the Surveyor to the company admin staff. I was really impressed with the building team, Sam and Bob. Sam did the replastering and was responsible for delivery of the job and bob did all the external work.. air bricks and the damp proofing. I have to say what an excellent job… Sam and bob were thoroughly professional, right from the start with dust proof and protecting the floor and furniture right through to removal of shot plaster to putting down the new mortar and then plastering and Bob did such a good job it was difficult to tell where the holes had been drilled for the damp proof cream. They spent 4 days working hard and I can’t thank or praise them enough. Definitely money well spent! Clive.

I had some serious concerns about damp in my property and reached out to the Home Building and Surveying Company after reading a few recommendations. From the initial enquiry right through to the completed work, they were absolutely fantastic.

They carried out a thorough survey and explained everything clearly, without any pushy sales tactics. The quote was fair and detailed, so I knew exactly what I was paying for. Once I gave the go-ahead, the team booked me in quickly and turned up on time, fully prepared.

The guys who carried out the work were polite, professional, and very respectful of my home. They kept everything clean and tidy and worked efficiently without cutting corners. They even took the time to show me what they’d done each day and answered all my questions.

Since the work was done, I've noticed a huge improvement – no more musty smell, no more damp patches, and the house feels so much warmer. I’m genuinely impressed with the level of service and quality of workmanship.

Didn't wait long for a survey & on accepting it i got a start within 4 weeks.
Quality of work was good & rendering finish excellent.
Issues
They underestimated time required to do the job & instead of 1-2 days it took 2 weeks with a week break in between, so scaffolding was up but they had other work to do.
4 hours after the workmen left site i received an aggressive email that i had an invoice to pay that day. I challenged there lack of politeness/professionalism & they said its generated by there accounts system as if this was acceptable. shame really as it completely ruined the experience for me.

Proposed works duly completed without any issues. Polite professional operatives who were clean & tidy throughout.

I contacted this company because I had two small patches of damp. A salesman came round to give me a quote. He insisted on testing the entire ground floor, and used a cheap pinless moisture detector. He was there for over an hour rummaging under the work tops, cupboards, wanting to pull the radiator cover off the wall... pointing out 101 things that were wrong with the house - pipes, guttering vents... I found the way he spoke to me very patronising. He was giving me permission to do things in my own home - "You can go and have your lunch now." "You can fix your own gutter if you want to, you're more than welcome." He went into my laundry room where all my underwear was drying without asking and stayed in there for ages taking photographs. He sat in the lounge doing things on his iPad for such a long time and when I looked in to see what he was doing he snapped "I'm doing your floor plan!!" At one point he said "What have I done wrong to you??" Finally he gave me the hard sell. Two damp patches would cost 3200 to repair with injectable damp proofing but the whole floor would cost 3900 so I should just get the whole ground floor done. He said that my slate damp course had disintegrated because they only last 100 years. He called the sales team in front of me and said that they were booked up for six weeks but if I say yes now he might be able to fit me in next week...
I found the whole experience intrusive and upsetting. it wasted an hour of my time and spoiled my day. I was very anxious so booked an independent survey from a damp and timber specialist which revealed that there were only two damp patches as originally thought.

Message to salesman and company: have some respect when you are in someone else's home.
Don't treat it as if it is your home, and boss the owner about. Come up with a fair quote, using fixed prices, that reflects the work that is needed. Squirting chemicals into two small damp areas, which would probably take less than two hours, is not worth £3,200. Your overheads can't be that much. What do you pay your labourers? A grand per hour?

Jack got the work done at my house all the while making sure I was happy with his service. He was so tidy and efficient. Would highly recommend jack and would use him again in the future.

Alfie and Jack were very professional, helpful, friendly and hard working and got the job done as agreed on time. Great team - thoroughly recommend them in the future! Bravo!

I was told a 2 to 3 day job for two and priced accordingly. The team did a reasonable job but rushed left early the first day did not return second day or explain. 3rd day was less than half a day but left rubbish and disrespectful of neighbours property. I had to clear their drain gully and clean up the shared alleyway.
