Poor Installation and Unfair Charges
Very disappointed with HEY Broadband. After having issues caused by what appears to have been a poor original installation, they charged me £145 just to fix the problem. Instead of taking responsibility, they blamed me because I signed the installation form back in 2024 — even though the faults only became obvious later.
Customer service was dismissive, and rather than helping a loyal customer, they focused on avoiding responsibility. I would strongly advise people to think twice before signing up with them. Cheap broadband is not worth it when you end up paying extra later for problems that should never have happened in the first place.
I do not recommend HEY Broadband based on my experience.

Too many connection drop outs
When it is working the speed is good (nowhere near what I'm paying for though). However in the space of a month I've had (and the area I'm in) significant issues with the connection meaning no internet for at minimum over one day, sometimes several. Also noticed the customer service has noticeably dropped over the last year. I have a few months to go on my contract but switching as can't afford all the problems which are becoming more frequent.
Edit: throughout this latest outage of 3 days the HeyBroadband status page has indicated there is no problem however Customer Support have confirmed there is one...

Terrible experience with this company
Terrible experience with this company. I informed them in advance that I was moving out of England and relocating to Scotland, where their services are not even available. I was told my account would be closed, yet months later I started receiving payment notices and debt collection pressure.
Customer service failed to properly handle a simple account closure request, despite several emails being sent. Extremely stressful and unprofessional situation.
Be very careful and always ask for written confirmation when dealing with this company.

Great - until it goes wrong
I've been with them for nearly two years and I've had occasionally patchy but overall, probably a 3-4 star service, until recently. Consistent drop outs, slow speeds, and the coverage in my house has been terrible.
I'm pretty tech savvy, and have worked for BT in the past, so I know something isn't right and my job requires a consistent connection - doesn't have to be rapid, just consistent, so it was now affecting my ability to work.
Their tech department was pretty dire, firstly their phone line was very difficult to hear throughout, but I told them my router was consistently dropping out for 10-15 seconds at a time, but they couldn't see it on their end, so there wasn't a problem. I asked for them to send someone to look at it, or replace the router, they said they couldn't because there isn't a problem (that they can see) so I would have to pay £60. It very much feels like a computer says no moment, and after slamming my head against a wall for a few minutes, being gaslit that "there isn't a problem" I gave up. Bad customer service, no offer to find a solution, just being sighed at down the phone because I was being difficult trying to stay a customer of H!B, like they didn't want me to stay.

Ordering broadband was simple but a minor mistake of ordering the wrong WiFi and length of contract was soon fixed by a good team on the phone. I spoke with Sandile and all was sorted very smoothly with a new order confirmation emailed out in soon time. Thanks a bunch.

Great communication and Professional Service
Great communication from the company, everything was done very efficiently. I was always informed of any changes the cable engineer Chris Bellott was very professional and polite and was fantastic at explaining each element. I am getting very good speeds. I have had a very good experience and would highly recommend them.

The quality of Broadband service has been amazing. The best and most reliable service I have had in the UK in the past 17 years! I have been a customer of theirs since June 2024 which reminds me that their installation was also amazingly quick. Their call center is helpful to any questions I have had and the best of all is that their price is simply amazing especially in these increasingly difficult days for our budgets.

Sharing my experience here for other potential customers who are on the fence and considering HB due to it being cheap and having 6 months off offer.
I had my installation done on the 8th May, as I use my own router (Deco WiFi 7 mesh system which is quite expensive) I was promised a bridge mode option. This was not enabled on the day and after spending hours and hours with the HB tech support, I was informed that the lead time is 2 working days. So, I was without any internet for 2+ days and then on the 11th May it started working without me changing any settings (even though HB tech support kept on blaming my mesh system). Even when connecting Ethernet straight from the ONT to a laptop it wouldn’t work. I was able to see 192.168 IP which confirmed double NAT meaning HB were still doing the routing and bridge mode was not enabled. Then they decided that my ONT was faulty and sent me another one. This again left me without internet for few more days as HB needed to provision bridge mode on the new ONT. Now, I’ve a really strange internet connection, so close to 900mbps up and down from 9am to 6pm reduced to 10mbps down between 6pm to late night, so clearly throttling my connection during those hours. As I am in the 14 days cooling off period, I requested cancellation and to my surprise, they are asking for £50 cancellation charge and for me to pay postage to return the original faulty and the new ONT. If anything, HB should compensate me for the days I’ve been without internet and will be for a period of time till I have a new connection in place. The least HB can do is not charge me anything and simply cancel my account and connection.
In a nutshell, if you simply use social media and light web browsing, this maybe a broadband for you. On the other hand, if you require reliable, consistent and a fast connection (especially if you work from home) stay well clear.
I am not happy with paying £50 for cancelling within the 14 days and will use all social media platforms to raise awareness, including emailing Lourdes Saez.
