horrible customer service! i went into the bank to make a deposit and had to wait while 2 tellers gossiped with another custome. then once i told her what i needed she continued to gossip and act like i did not exist. then she tells me we are putting a hold on your check since this is a new account. I said well never mind i need a cashiers check today and she slapped the check into my hand and walked off without saying a word. Back to Bank of America i go.

I went to First Horizon bank on Maynardville Highway in Knoxville, TN. I applied for a secure loan of 30,000 against a cd. Dee Dee and Angie were exceptionally awesome. Since I'm securing my loan with my own money and still had a 100,000 in the bank my loan would be 2.85 percent and payments of 523.00 a month. Now keep in mind I'm using MY MONEY AND GIVING MYSELF THE LOAN. Angie calls me Monday and says The Under Writer needs my last 2 W2s. Seriously? It's my money and it's a secured loan and I still had over 100,000 in checking. It's not unsecured so they the under writer doesn't need any w2s. All and all I told them to shove it. The under writer is wrong. I called 3 other banks and they assured me The under writer DOES NOT NEED this info when your securing your own money. Now we have had this account with first horizon since the 1950s. Sad I will be closing my accounts this weekend and changing banks.

This company looks good from the outside, easy and quick to put your money in but impossible to get any assistance once you get started. No response to emails or messages . There're way better platform out there than these folks like echelonis elitus who always process my payment. I encourage to look around.
Starting account at first horizon worst mistake I'v made this yr. Holding deposit check 9 days.. Turns into 20..Check good and printed From a major respected bank. I find that uncalled for and shady. Be pulling money out soon as I can get it. I bet all processes will math in their direction.
Poor customer service. My daughter has brain damage and I had to take over her account after moving her back to my home state in WV. I am unable to travel to a location and we need to close her account. They absolutely refuse to unless she appears in person. I understand security, etc. but with multiple methods of proof, no income coming in and nothing being paid out of it, they still refuse. She is now going to receive SSI/Disability but it needs to be at a bank close to where we are but this bank is of no help at all.
Need I say more? This was straight from the bank admitting they won't take my call or have someone I can speak with: They refuse to have someone I can speak with

Unfortunately there is no one that you can speak with in the unblock heloc department as they do not take calls.
UPDATE: Recieved a call back and have been charged this ATM fee for a while so FIRST HORIZON BANK has made a lot of money off the backs of their customers. Avoid using any ATM get cash back when you can and stay away from any and all ATM usage. Was not offered cash back for an account i should have never been put in and for the $9 monthly charge and i will be looking for a better bank. I would suggest anybody looking to start an account stay clear of this bank. ONLY decent thing about this bank is the two ladies working the window daily at west broadway location. SPARE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE OF DOING BUISNESS WITH THIS BANK! Let me start by saying west Broadway location in maryville has the best two ladies that work drive thru so this bad review has no reflect on them at all because they are awesome. My problem lies with the bank its self. When I use my ATM I pay surcharge at location to use but First Horizon charges a $3 fee and I also get charged a $9 monthly fee as well. I had no clue I was paying them a $3 fee with every ATM transaction because had I I would have changed banks years ago. I was getting this money back every end of the month and now I get nothing back at all. Called to ask about this and am told that even if I go to weigles who has no surcharge I will still be charged $3 by the bank. I have probably paid 100's of dollars to a bank for doing their job. I am now waiting on a phone call to see if I can get any of this money back because I'm sure I'm not the only one getting screwed by this. I will update as soon as I hear something.
I can see why 82% of respondents give First Horizon 1 star. I'd give them 0 if I could. I started out dealing with a csr named Sarah Boone. She is the most unprofessional rep I've ever dealt with. It's people like her that make you not want to do business with them. There's a reason why Bank of America is at the top and First Horizon is at the bottom. It's people like Sarah Boone. She's the absolute worst!!
Terrible experience with First Horizon Bank. Everything must be done in person by visiting the branch; customer service is horrible and a total nightmare. I will never do business with First Horizon Bank ever again.
There was a check on my account that was cashed from 4 years ago before first horizon took over, I have no checks with first horizon whatsoever, but they allowed a check to be cashed from 4 years ago which means it's a stale dated check. When I called Customer Service twice and went inside the branch, they basically told me that there is nothing that can be done and was very rude about it.
When this bank took over First Tennessee Bank it changed the hours to almost "Not Open". It opens an hour later than ever other bank in town and closes an hour earlier. It is not business owner friendly at all. A bank for the community would be always be open when other businesses are opening and not close until at least 5pm.
RUN AWAY...do not walk! This bank has been terrible to us since day one of their takeover of our previous bank a few years ago. Hidden fees, horrific customer service, and takes an act of congress to get the simplest problems resolved. They charge me to move my own money in between my bank accounts at their bank. If you have to call for a problem, expect to be on the phone for hours and the problem MAY get resolved. Don't bother going into the branch. Last time I did that they LITERALLY told me they couldn't help me and I would have to use the app instead to resolve my banking issue. Which of course did NOT work. Was hopeful this bank was going to be bought out by a bigger and better bank, but it hasn't happened and I've finally had enough. It is so bad now that it is worth my time and headache to pull out 3 business accounts from them. And guess what...they could care less. Maybe you will. DO NOT BANK WITH THEM!
This bank has the worst customer service. The branch locations are the best, only reason why I haven’t left. They took my ability to use my Zelle without informing me, told me it would take 5 business days to reactivate. What! are you kidding me. I told a friend no problem I can send her money😡 now no way to pay her.
The staff and mgmt team are very good,they are for helping customers and also customer service is what customer service should be.

I had an overdraft fee of only 57 cents and the cut off my debit card I have been with this bank for years and to do that for just that low amount is really ridiculous. I am on a fixed income I would have taken care of the fee but they cut my cards off so I could not transfer the amount to them very very!!!! Dissatisfied.
My girlfriend is a senior disabled lady and she had to cancel her card and get a new one because there was charges on her card that she didn't make and after she finally got it they wouldn't activate it on the phone because they said that she didn't know her Gmail address so she can't get any money and Then yesterday I tried to get some food and it said insufficient fund's on my card then today I had car trouble and I couldn't get a wrecker because it said insufficient fund's. I had $1,700 dollars in my account and I just found out that they had put a hold on my account for no reason in the world. I have never overdrawn or had a problem. I will be closing our accounts tomorrow. They had no reason to do that to us. We live way up in the Cherokee National forest and couldn't get to the bank today. I can't recommend them at all.
This is the worse bank ever and they should not be in business. I had my address updated with an agent over the phone last week, but she misspelled my street name. I called on yesterday to have the typo fixed in the address and they kept telling me I had to go inside of a bank. Then they told me to call the branch manager Mrs. Gibson to fix the issue which was insane. After I literally had to argue with several agents one of the agents by the name of Mrs. Carruthers cancelled my online banking. Then she put a security block on my account for NO REASON. So I emailed Mrs. Gibson and she responded that all of my accounts are being terminated. All of this is behind one of their incompetent, ignorant customer services reps DOING THEIR JOB WRONG! I wasn't given an explanation to why my accounts was being terminated and they did this maliciously behind me complaining about their employees. Mrs. Gibson should be fired from this location and could careless about customers at this bank. The customer service rep Mrs. Carruthers need to be fired for mishandling my account and putting a block on my account for no reason. Everytime you call client services all of the reps sound like they are sleep, they microphones aren't working, they lazy, don't want to help you, are unprofessional, and you have to repeat yourself a million times since none of them CAN COMPREHEND!
I had one of the worst banking experiences ever! I came in with a personal check. I tried to cash it and the teller immediately started questioning me about my out of state ID. He called the manager and things got progressively worse! Andrea "the manager "took my check and said she refused to cash it it she couldn't reach my boss. She didn't give me any explanation. I ended up going into her office and demanded my check! Terrible customer service!!!
