If you don't want your holiday to start with stress, wasted time, and an expensive last-minute search for another rental car, avoid Final Rentals.
I booked and paid in advance for a rental car from 15 July to 4 August. When I arrived at Athens Airport, it turned into a complete nightmare.
The booking instructions clearly stated that a company shuttle would pick us up. We waited at the designated shuttle area for almost an hour, carefully watching every shuttle bus that arrived. There was no Final Rentals shuttle with the company's logo at any time.
I tried calling every phone number provided in the booking confirmation. No one answered. It was impossible to reach the company. Even airport staff could not tell us where this rental company was located.
As a result, we were left stranded in a foreign country without the car we had already paid for. To avoid ruining our holiday completely, I had to urgently rent a vehicle from another company. Because of the limited availability, I ended up paying significantly more and could only rent a car for a shorter period than originally planned.
Later, Final Rentals claimed that the vehicle was ready, the shuttle was operating, and that I simply failed to show up. This is completely untrue. We waited in the shuttle area for nearly an hour, no company shuttle ever arrived, and the company never answered a single phone call.
Instead of taking responsibility for their failure to provide the service I had paid for, they chose to blame the customer.
Because of Final Rentals, we lost several hours on the first day of our holiday, spent much more money than planned, and experienced unnecessary stress and frustration.
My advice is simple: choose any other rental company. Paying a little more for a reliable company is far better than risking being left without a car after landing.
I will never use Final Rentals again and I cannot recommend them to anyone.

Where to begin…. At pickup we were given a selection of cars to choose from that I assumed fit into the class we chose. Nope. It was just a ruse to upsell you, by a lot, after you find one you like. We were told to return it in the same condition that it was at return. Duh, I’m not going to return it trashed. Turns out you have to have it detailed at your own cost before returning it. Even that apparently might not be sufficient. I spent over an hour on the night before returning it to vacuum and wash and scrub the interior and exterior. Upon return I was told to go clean the car. Did that already sir. Not good enough. They proceeded to point out the 2 bugs on the bumper that occurred while driving back to return the car. They pointed out literally every grain of sand stuck in carpet that I guess I missed. I took photos to prove how clean the car was. Turns out 2 bugs and few grains of sand will cost you 50 Euros. Avoid these scammers please.

Family owned business with a great hands on service. Easy to book. Perfect communication via WhatsApp right upon landing with detailed instructions and timing. Shuttle from LHR to rental office in luxury Mercedes bus (approx 20 min ride) and a very updated fleet. I drove the hybrid Tiggo Chery which was large and roomy for my trip. I would definitely recommend over the big box companies if you are looking for great service and price. Would use again

My friends and I (9 people in total) decided to go from Portugal to Spain. We booked all our hotels, rented a minivan at Porto Airport through the Economybookings aggregator, and ended up with a local company called Final Rentals / DeluxeJourney. And boy, did we end up in a trap.

Before picking up the car, we called their manager, Miguel, to check a few crucial things. First, crossing the border to Spain. Miguel was so sweet over the phone, telling us it would cost a completely humane €45. Next question: the security deposit. Not a minor detail, since different banks have different credit limits. Miguel confidently reassured us it would be €4,200. Quite a lot, but we figured it wouldn't stop our trip.

Imagine our surprise when we arrived at their office late at night and discovered a whole new world.

How it works:

You book via a great aggregator like Economybookings and choose full coverage, specifically to cross the border smoothly. But at the desk, they suddenly look at you and say that "full coverage" only counts if it's theirs, which costs almost 6 times more than the aggregator's! You couldn't find out about this amount in advance anywhere. Basically, they ask you to put another €500 on the table—equal to the price of the entire rental. If you don't have this cash or your limit is hit, you can't go to Spain and you lose all your hotel bookings. What a beautiful choice of prospects!

But even if an extra €500 is pocket change for you, they have a "Plan B" to ruin your vacation. The deposit suddenly turns out to be not €4,200, but nearly €1,000 more because the company decided to charge VAT (IVA) on top of a security deposit! In my opinion, this is completely absurd. Since when does a refundable deposit carry "added value" that needs to be taxed?

And if you, like us, face this late in the evening on a weekend, when your credit card limit can't cover this surprise and you can't even call your bank, you just leave with no car and no refund. Why? Because according to their rules, cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance. Checkmate, dear tourists!

Oh, and the fact that they forced us into an absolutely useless Via Verde toll service that we tried hard to refuse? Peanuts compared to everything else.

We ultimately decided to go to Spain anyway, because canceling would mean losing too much money. But we didn't pay their ridiculous €500 on-the-spot fee. Now, we are fighting a €1,000 penalty that is written on the back of the contract in a font so microscopically small that even a magnifying glass won't help you read it. And by the way, they never even provided me with a copy of the signed contract at the counter.

I have rented cars all over the world, but I have never encountered such a toxic mix of contract violations, deliberately misleading information, and downright hostile behavior from staff.

The most stressful rental experience in my entire life! Highly NOT recommended!

Tramite un comparatore sono finito a prenotare con Final Rentals. Nonostante emails di conferma e valida prenotazione, mi sono accorto per puro caso a poche ore dal ritiro che la prenotazione con il fornitore locale era stata cancellata. Zero professionalità ed assistenza, non prenotate con questa roba se non volete rovinarvi la vita! Statene alla larga!

Grootste oplichters in de business. Trap hier absoluut niet in! Als je dacht dat je online een goede deal had gevonden via deze bemiddelaar, bereid je dan maar voor op een gigantische kater bij de balie. Dit zijn werkelijk de grootste oplichters die er bestaan. Ze lokken je met mooie tarieven, maar achter de schermen houden ze bewust cruciale informatie en torenhoge extra kosten achter. Eenmaal op locatie word je keihard geconfronteerd met absurde, verplichte toeslagen die nergens fatsoenlijk stonden aangegeven. Je staat met je rug tegen de muur en ze buiten je positie schaamteloos uit. Dit is geen eerlijke autoverhuur, dit is legale diefstal en pure misleiding van de consument. Bespaar jezelf een hoop woede, stress en honderden euro’s aan misgelopen geld. Boek via een partij die wél eerlijk en transparant is, want deze partij is werkelijk schandelijk onbetrouwbaar!

Para quem está à espera do transporte do aeroporto para a rent a car Final Rentals, não existe nenhuma carrinha identificada com o nome Final Rentals. Existem muitas exceto esta. Perguntamos a várias carrinhas se conheciam e ninguém sabia, até que a descobrimos que é a Apollo que gere esta empresa. O escritório do rent a car fica num terreno que se parece com uma sucata, cheio de lixo e carros que parecem abandonados. Preço muito bom, mas entregaram o carro com um problema que se desligava em andamento. Descobrimos que era uma peça que não estava apertada e que fazia com que a energia não chegasse à bateria. No dia de levantamento do carro, o escritório abriu 1h depois do que seria suposto. À excepção destas situações, correu tudo bem.

This was my very first time using VIP Cars, and it will absolutely be my last. I rented a car in Montenegro, provided by their local supplier, Final Rentals.
My official VIP Cars voucher explicitly stated under the 'OUT OF HOURS' section: "Out of hours fees is not applicable for this booking." However, when I contacted the local supplier to inform them about my 07:00 AM drop-off, they demanded a €42.35 "early return" fee.
When I politely reminded them of the exact clause on my official voucher that exempts me from this fee, the supplier's representative became incredibly aggressive. They actually sent me a text message threatening that if I continued to message them, they would automatically charge my card a fabricated €150 "after-hours assistance fee"! Threatening a customer with a €150 penalty simply for coordinating a drop-off and pointing out the contract terms is pure extortion.
On top of this nightmare with their local supplier, VIP Cars completely failed me as well. I had previously requested to cancel and refund my additional insurance, but VIP Cars never processed the refund or resolved the issue.
VIP Cars does not stand behind their own binding contracts, they allow their local suppliers to threaten and extort their customers, and they fail to process legitimate insurance refunds. I experienced immense stress during my holiday because of them. Avoid VIP Cars and their supplier Final Rentals at all costs!

booked a car in Istanbul through DiscoverCars with Final Rentals Istanbul. When I arrived at pickup, Final Rentals said they could not find my booking in their system and no car was provided.
I was stranded with my wife and our 4-month-old baby. I clearly told them we had a baby with us and needed urgent help, but nothing meaningful was done. I had to arrange alternative transport/rental myself, at my own cost and stress.
DiscoverCars later only refunded the small prepaid amount, but they did not solve the real problem or hold their supplier accountable. Even worse, their final response repeated the supplier’s claim that I refused to leave a deposit. This is completely false. How could I refuse a deposit for a car/booking they themselves admitted the supplier could not find?
In my experience, this was a serious failure of both service and accountability. A refund of the prepaid amount does not fix being abandoned in Istanbul with a 4-month-old baby. I would be extremely careful before booking through DiscoverCars. Booking Number : FRTR202604205512.

Customer team was helpful, responsive and easy to deal with.

Avoid this company at all costs. We booked a car almost three months in advance to secure our rental at a reasonable price, but our confirmed reservation was cancelled only a few days before our arrival in Albania. No proper explanation was given and no replacement vehicle was offered.

What makes this even worse is that the same car appeared to be available again around two hours later at almost three times the original price. When we contacted customer service, they falsely claimed that the car had been cancelled shortly after we made the booking, even though it had been confirmed for months. Cancelling a confirmed reservation at the last minute to relist the same vehicle at a much higher price is unacceptable. Their explanations were contradictory and misleading, so do not rely on this company if you want a stress-free trip.

Avoid this company if you value reliability.

I booked a rental car for Tirana, Albania through Skyscanner on 12 March and received a confirmation email, booking voucher and confirmation page stating that my reservation was confirmed. I organised my trip around this booking and had no reason to believe there would be any issues.

More than three months later, just before my trip, Final Rentals cancelled the reservation due to “operational availability”. By that point, rental prices in Tirana had increased significantly, leaving me with no choice but to pay much more for an alternative vehicle.

What made the experience even worse was customer support claiming that the booking had been cancelled within a few hours of being made. This was simply untrue, and I had screenshots proving that the booking remained confirmed from 12 March until 15 June, when it was finally cancelled.

A confirmed booking should mean something. If a company cannot honour reservations that it has accepted and confirmed for months, customers deserve to know that before booking.

Very disappointing experience. I would not use Final Rentals again and would advise anyone travelling to Albania to book elsewhere.

Another note to add which I have just noticed, they have advertised the same car at the same dates and time with a price x3 higher than the initially confirmed, which confirms that there were no operational availability issues, but instead they just wanted to increase the price.

From the second we landed until our very last second in Montenegro, the service was immaculate. Funnily, on our last day in Montenegro, there was an EU summit which caused chaos and closed all the roads. Normally, this would be a nightmare with a rental car as we couldn’t get to the drop off point. However, using Final Rentals made it so smooth - I’ll never use a different rental platform ever again!

I would strongly advise caution when booking through Final Rentals, as the reliability of their partner rental companies appears to be very questionable.
In particular, my experience with Planet Cars in Thessaloniki was extremely disappointing. At the time of vehicle pick-up, they refused to properly document minor scratches on the car, stating that only “major damage” was relevant for reporting and potential liability. Upon returning the vehicle, those same pre-existing scratches were suddenly treated as billable damage. I was then asked to pay a significant amount for repairs that were clearly not caused during my rental period.
In my case, I was charged €375 for the alleged replacement of a bumper due to scratches that were already present but not recorded at check-out.
This approach feels misleading and inconsistent, and raises serious concerns about the inspection and documentation process used by this rental provider

Good friendly service and very reasonable prices. The car we used was brilliant and economical and the shuttle bus to and from the airport was a huge help. ❣️Will use again if we are over in the UK. ☺️

Arranged with these idiots to collect a car after a lte flight said they were open 24 hours but when we got to chania Airport there was no one there the phone number provided just rang out so we were stranded at 22.30 took us another hour and a half to sort out another rental at the [ at the desk price] of three times as much so I would definitely not use these lyers again
