Ein kleineres Auto bekommen als ich gebucht habe. Die Kaution wollten die nicht zurückzahlen bis ich mich nach einem halben Jahr bei den Behörden beschwert habe. Und auch nur einen kleinen Teil zurück bekommen mit der Begründung ich hätte Mautgebühren zu zahlen.

Our car rental through Final Rentals went really well and we're very pleased with the outcome. Their price was much better than the usual large car rental companies and it was good to sit down with the rental agent and go through all the details together. We had booked a Kia Sportage but they gave us an equivalently-sized Jaecoo 7 - brand new. It drove well and we were very happy with it. We returned the car a little early and the staff gave us a lift into town, back near our hotel. In a nutshell, we were very happy because we got a good car at a good price, dealt with friendly staff who took the time to explain everything, and were helpful in kindly driving us back near our hotel. The rental car pickup/return location is a bit farther from Heathrow airport than the mainstream rental guys (about a 20 minute shuttle ride), but this gave us a chance to unwind a bit after our long flight before picking up our rental car. We'd happily rent from them again. 😊

I am frustrating because I have been trying to get in touch with some regarding their after hours policy of $60. No matter what time a day I want to pick up and bring back my car, I am getting charged. And the charge is $160, not even the $60. No one has explained to my question. And I don’t understand the policy.

DO NOT USE FINALRENTALS! This vendor is extremely deceptive and dishonest. They are posting scam rental offers through third party vendors like Discovercars.com. If you use this company, (which you SHOULD NOT) you must read EVERY piece of fine print in the renter's contract. They embed fraudulent terms in fine print that will commit you to spending much more when you get to the rental desk. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Discovercars.com listed a car rental in Palermo for a small compact car at the airport with a company FINALRENTAL for approximately $80. I booked the car to start a driving tour of Sicily. Upon arriving to the airport by bus we were advised to take a shuttle to a rental lot on a hill far away from any public transportation. I had prepared my international driver's license and all documents including my airline tickets and credit card.
Upon greeting me the representative looked at the reservation and said that my rental price was only good if my plane into Sicily arrived on the first day of the rental. I had arrived the day prior, so he said the price was invalid and that I'd have to pay an additional 125 Euros to rent the car in addition to what I had already paid.
Now, it makes no sense that the day a car rental starts has anything at all to do with when one's plane arrives in the city of rental. I had not booked the car rental in conjunction with my airline ticket. Nowhere on my rental voucher was this requirement listed. I immediately challenged the rental agent and he insisted on contacting the representative from Discovercars.com. A female phone representative spoke to me in English and apologized but said that this policy was something local car companies sometimes do. I asked the Discovercars.com representative why they would work with a company that behaves in such a dishonest and abusive manner and was told that the company can't do anything about it. I was given the options of paying the extortion fee and getting $30 refunded, making a reservation through a different car company located at a remote location with unclear car availability, or fending for myself. Trapped in a foreign country on the side of a hill, I had no choice but to pay the extra fee of 125 Euros. After raising her voice at me for being upset at the situation, The Discovercars.com representative seemed pleased with my choice.
FINAL RENTALS is clearly luring customers in on third party sites with good prices, trapping them at the rental desk and then essentially extorting huge fees when you have no other recourse. They should not be in business and should be investigated by the police.
They are criminals.

I strongly urge travellers to think very carefully before booking through Final Rentals or renting from RENT NEXT CO LTD – Keshava Duvah Pentiah in Mauritius.

I travel regularly around the world and have rented vehicles in multiple countries over the years, yet I have never experienced anything remotely close to the level of stress, intimidation, and uncertainty that my wife and I faced during this situation.

What should have been a normal holiday car rental turned into one of the most distressing experiences we have ever dealt with abroad.

On 9th May in Port Louis, I was involved in a road traffic accident while driving the rental vehicle. I had clearly indicated and stopped to make a right-hand turn into a side road when a motorcyclist travelling in the same direction attempted to overtake by moving into the oncoming traffic lane. The motorcyclist collided heavily into the driver’s side door of the vehicle.

The rider later verbally accepted responsibility and apologised outside the police station. Police attended the scene and I fully cooperated with all legal procedures, including attending the Line Barracks Police Station to register the incident.

However, the experience afterwards with the rental company was extremely concerning.

Despite the circumstances indicating I was not the at-fault party, my wife and I felt subjected to repeated pressure for money, intimidating behaviour, and what we believed were attempts to exploit the situation financially. The conduct we experienced left us feeling vulnerable and distressed in a foreign country during what should have been a holiday.

What made matters worse was the complete lack of proper support from Final Rentals themselves. Upon arriving at Mauritius Airport, there was no official desk, no visible customer service presence, and no face-to-face support staff available. We were simply met outside the airport by an individual from the local rental company.

This experience seriously made me question the business practices and oversight standards of Final Rentals. In my opinion, outsourcing customers to poorly managed local operators without proper on-site representation or customer protection creates significant risk for travellers.

The situation escalated to the point where difficult conversations involving lawyers became necessary before the pressure and demands finally eased. No tourist should ever feel threatened, intimidated, or financially cornered after cooperating fully with police and following the legal process.

I would also strongly advise travellers to avoid booking through third-party comparison websites such as Discovery Cars when using companies like Final Rentals, as this can create additional layers of separation and accountability issues when problems occur. In unfamiliar countries where uncertainty can arise at any moment, it is important to know you have legitimate, direct representation and accessible customer support both upon arrival and throughout your stay.

My advice to anyone renting abroad:

* Thoroughly research the actual local company behind the booking
* Take extensive photos and videos before driving
* Ensure you have comprehensive insurance cover
* Keep all communication documented
* Be cautious if there is no official airport desk or direct company representation
* Use rental providers with established customer-facing operations and direct accountability

I hope by sharing this experience, other travellers can avoid going through the stress, fear, and uncertainty that my wife and I experienced.

I have been renting cars in many countries and cities but with all honesty my experience with Final Rentals in Cairo, Egypt was exceptional and extremely amazing. Hesham and his team electronically handled all my paperwork before arriving, which saved me a lot of time and admin work. Hesham also prepared everything in advance and communicated with me electronically to ensure everything is done.

All the team there, were really helpful.

I had an awful experience. The lady that picked us up from the airport was okay but it was all downhill from there.

The woman at the office was unpleasant to deal with; she was rude, sarcastic, and hurried. She added an extortionate additional charge of €80 euros for using a debit card instead of credit card. SCAM.

We were given a unroadworthy car that was dangerous to drive. I raised an issue about it at pick up and knowing there was a fault, they gave me the car anyway. They seem to be all about getting the maximum money from people while offering the lowest value cars and a poor customer service.

I did not receive an apology for being given a car that might have caused an accident. They just changed it when the complaint was raised.

There is so much else wrong about this company but I’ll leave it there. Use another company, there are many other options.

They gave a very honest and easy going service. The price for their service was very affordable. I would definitely recommended this company.

Although the depot is not at Heathrow, but Windsor, which was a little inconvenient for us, as we were heading to Norfolk, that was on the booking, I just didn't see it, so it was my fault.

Apart from that the service was very good, great comms, good pricing and super helpful staff.

The car was clean, under a year old and performed well, I couldn't fault the vehicle.

We booked a rental through Finalrentals.com because the advertised price seemed very competitive. However, this is how they get you.
Our 3-day rental should only be $201.20 total based on the booking website which did not reflect the actual total we ended up paying.
I typically decline rental insurance because I carry full coverage on my personal vehicle. At pickup, though, the staff informed me that their location requires $300,000–$350,000 in property damage coverage. This is significantly higher than what most standard auto policies include (usually around $50,000–$100,000). Because of this requirement, I was forced to purchase additional insurance.
As a result, the total cost for the 3-day rental increased to $380.36—nearly double the original quoted price. On top of that, my credit card was charged $388.09, plus an additional $14.51 for toll fees that I was initially told were already included.
I’m sharing this experience so that others are aware and don’t get caught off guard like I did. Based on my experience, the pricing was misleading, and the situation felt deceptive/scammed.
Their pricing is misleading, and the added requirements are not made clear at booking. What looks like a good deal is anything but. Be prepared to pay far more than the advertised price.

We had an issue with the booking via a third party broker which final rental support center was taking care of immediately and the issue was solved very promptly. The communication worked very good and response was fast. We were treated very courteously, and our issue was taken seriously.
