I cannot recommend Final Rentals based…
I cannot recommend Final Rentals based on my experience.
I rented a car in Bulgaria and purchased SCDW (Super Collision Damage Waiver) with zero excess for additional peace of mind.
After returning the vehicle, I was informed that I was being charged for a windshield crack that the local supplier claimed was new damage. However, I had recorded a video of the vehicle before starting my rental. The video clearly shows the same crack already present on the windshield before I drove the car.
I provided the video evidence, screenshots, and detailed explanations. To their credit, Final Rentals support escalated the case multiple times and even informed the local supplier that I had purchased SCDW with zero excess and had provided evidence showing the crack existed before the rental.
Unfortunately, despite several weeks of waiting, I still have not received a substantive response addressing the evidence. Instead, I continue to receive messages stating that the case is being reviewed and that they are waiting for a response from the local team.
What is most disappointing is not the dispute itself—mistakes can happen—but the lack of a clear resolution after providing evidence that directly challenges the damage claim.
As a customer, I expected:
* a fair review of the evidence;
* a clear explanation of the final decision;
* timely communication regarding the disputed charge.
At the time of writing, none of these expectations have been met.
If you rent through Final Rentals, I strongly recommend taking detailed photos and videos of the vehicle before driving away and keeping all documentation. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company until this matter is resolved fairly.

We rented a car for 7 days I Dubrovnik, crossing to Montenegro. This was a good experience; good English and easy “check in/ out”. Unfortunately we where stuck in heavy traffic in Montenegro on our way to our “check out”. We called them in advance, and they where very understanding. They did not charge us. So we are very happy :)

Worst car rental ever
Worst car rental ever, I wish I had checked the reviews beforehand... don’t book with this company if you want a hassle-free vacation. We had booked a new VW Touareg because I’m used to German cars and I’m 1.93m tall. Instead of a Touareg, we got an old Hyundai Santa Fe without being informed at the counter, with a rattling engine, already damaged all over, and dirty inside and out. They claimed it was in the same price range, but they wouldn’t show the list. In the end, it also turned out that they don’t even have the VW Touareg they advertise online. Total scammers! The only solution they offered was to cancel the rental, but then you lose your deposit and have to find another car at the airport yourself. Don’t make the same mistake we did and don’t book with this company, you’ll be disappointed anyway!

The vehicle provided met our contractual safety and maintenance standards. While it had cosmetic signs of prior use, it was fully inspected and roadworthy. Vehicle mileage alone is not an indication of reliability, and many well-maintained rental vehicles remain in service with higher mileage.
Regarding the insurance, all applicable charges are clearly explained before the rental agreement is signed. Customers have the opportunity to review and accept these terms before proceeding.
We also regret if you felt our staff were dismissive. That is not the level of service we strive to provide, and we will review the interaction internally.

Irene, treated us very well during our stay.
Unfortunately, although we received written confirmation that the hire car was returned in a satisfactory condition, and that the deposit would be returned, the deposit was not returned to us!
30 days on, we are still fighting for the deposit.

Extortion and Intimidation
I am writing this in absolute shock and horror to warn every single traveller to stay far away from Final Rentals/Apollo/United near Athens Airport. What we went through was not a business dispute; it was a terrifying, targeted extortion attempt that left us deeply traumatised.
Our rental car was stolen during our trip. We did everything correctly by law: we spent 7 gruelling hours at a police station filing an official criminal report and retained the physical keys to prove the car was locked and that we were not negligent.
When we arrived at the rental office in good faith to hand over the keys and process the standard insurance excess of €1000 (which we had already deposited as security at pick up) the staff turned completely hostile. They rejected standard insurance procedures and illegally demanded we pay the entire market value of the vehicle on the spot. They cited this would be €8000 at the time and then later plucked €20000 out of thin air.
When our insurance company called the office to intervene on our behalf, the staff aggressively shouted down the phone at the adjuster. They then refused to call the police precinct where we filed the report.
When we would not give in to their illegal financial demands, the experience turned dangerous. The staff physically exited the building, surrounded us on the street, and blocked our path so we could not leave. This location is extremely remote and desolate, with absolutely nowhere to go. Finding ourselves trapped in an unfamiliar, isolated area by a group of hostile individuals was a profoundly terrifying experience. We were utterly defenseless, overwhelmed, and couldn’t understand what they were shouting at us. They saw how nervous we were, and instead of showing humanity, the staff openly mocked, laughed, and jeered at us while keeping us trapped. It was malicious and cruel. A kind tourist family witnessed this harassment and bravely stepped in to keep us safe. They refused to leave us until we were with the police.
The Hellenic Police ultimately arrived, spoke with us, and escorted us to the nearest precinct. The police verified our passports, confirmed our active theft report, and dismissed us safely.
This company does not just scam people; they intentionally compromise the physical and psychological safety of tourists. We will be raising formal complaints with everyone we can but, for your own safety, pay the extra money to go to a reputable company. Stay far, far away from these guys. We are here in Athens on our honeymoon, to experience and learn about Greek culture, and now we just want to go home to Scotland.
If they claim you owe them the full cost of the vehicle, freeze your card and do not pay them a single penny. Phone the police if needed. Eventually the truth of what these people do will come out!

1 star because I can’t give 0. STAY AWAY FROM FINAL RENTALS
Service bordering on a scam. I booked a car at Athens Airport with Final Rentals but the experience turned out to be a surreal nightmare.
I arrived at the pick-up point at 3.45 pm. The shuttle was supposed to run every 10 minutes, but it never turned up. I tried desperately to contact them for a whole hour (from 15:58 to 16:50) by calling both numbers provided in the booking: THEY NEVER ANSWERED. No assistance, no transport, no respect for the customer.
Left to fend for myself and at risk of being stranded, at 17:07 I was forced to make an emergency booking with another company, paying almost double the price for the car (€292.76 compared to the expected €166.17) and incurring an unexpected financial loss of over €138 solely due to their total inefficiency.
A phantom company, unreachable when you need them and utterly lacking in professionalism. Never entrust your travels to Final Rentals if you don’t want to ruin your holiday and throw your money away.

Inden vores rejse til Grækenland, Peloponnes, valgte vi at leje bil i 10 dage hjemmefra. Vi bookede via Discovercars.com og deres leverandør bliv i kontrakten Final Rentals biludlejning. De havde dog sendt opgaven videre til et andet biludlejnings selskab, Apollo Car Rentals. Hele oplevelsen med Apollo Car Rentals har været en katastrofe og i høj grad taget toppen af glæden ved vores ferie. Serviceniveau hos personale vor ikke eksisterende, bilen vi fik udleveret var klar til ophugning. Havde buler og skrammer overalt, alt plastik var skruet fast og to gange var vi ved at tabe en kofanger. De benyttede mafialignede metoder da de ved aflevering pegede på en gammel ridse og påstod det var os der havde lavet den og dermed farvel. På trods af vi havde foto og video der modbeviste dette, trak de hele vores sikkerhedsdepot på 1.200 Euro!

Nakolkomeskal let 20min., detom po lete trebalo na wc a chvilu sme sa zdrzali aj pri vyzdvihnuti kufrov, tak sme na na dohodnute miesto prisli o 1min. neskor.. potom sme po parkovisku hladali transfer a ked sme ho nenasli tak sme o 4min. volali ze sme na mieste. ked sme sa po x pokusoch dovolali ( nebrali telefon) otrasnym sposobom nam bolo oznamene ze nam zrusili rezervaciu, lebo sme meskali. arogantny pristup, ziadna moznost dohodnut sa, tak sme s detmi ostali 3hodiny na letisku kym sa nam podarilo zohnat odvoz.Po niekolko minutovom telefonate, mali tu drzost ponuknut nam este auto skoro za dvojnasobnu cenu.Nikdy viac cez tuto spolocnost !!! pokazili nam celu dovolenku a dojem z grecka
