ERA Protect system

Use ERA products before and always found them good value.
I had mistakingly ordered some accessories that were not compatible with my ERA Protect system.
Tech support were very helpful in resolving the issue.
The system was easy to install but instructions could be more informative.
The App is the only way to set up the system and adding devices is easy.
The App can be confusing to navigate and is fairly basic.
As yet I have not found how to test system without setting off alarm.

Finger print unreliable

Installation was fairly easy, setup of the wifi took a few goes. The finger print is a bit unreliable, and it doesn't always lock first time. There are probably better locks on the market.

Reassuringly good tel support if ever needed

The telephone support line for Era was brilliant, got through to a support member without delay or twenty questions answerphone nonsense. The guy I spoke to was really on the ball and solved the problem I was having connecting my wireless siren to the control pad in a matter of seconds.
Amazing support and top quality alarm systems.

I like not using keys

I like not using keys.
Sometimes the fingerprint doesn’t work first time and also the lock
Doesn’t always activate when locked, you have to lift and lock twice for it to engage. Which is disappointing.

As the fingerprint is a captive sensor, as much as possible your finger and sensor do need to be dry. When you added your fingerprint to the handle, it is very important your finger is in a vertical position when it is added, and that the whole sensor is covered.

The handle should only have to be lifted once to initiate the lock process, if it is having to be lifted twice, then this could indicate a time issue, or possibly that the handle is being released too quickly from the upwards motion.

I've been invited to review my recent…

I've been invited to review my recent experience of dealing with this company. I can't fault the service I received - I ordered a replacement exterior siren battery pack online and received it within a couple of days. It's installed and it works. On the downside, I only realised the old battery pack had failed when I noticed it had stopped flashing and I was under the impression that the app should have warned me. It's a cr@p app that doesn't do very much. Another criticism I have is that their product range is miniscule and whereas I'd like to have an exterior camera linked to my system, I don't seem to be able to purchase one. On the other hand, when I had logging on issues a short while ago, I telephoned them and it got sorted within a couple of hours.

Support and sales department failure

Contacted ERA regarding an existing smart lock with a fault, they never confirmed if spares are available or whether they could recommend a current product to replace it.
The lock was replaced due to lack of communication from ERA. Not very good customer service.

Smart Universal Door Handle

My Blusafe Origin Smart needed replaced but the price has doubled.

The Era Smart Universal Door Handle as all the same features and was as easy to fit

The major bonus with this lock is the geolocation unlocking -as long as I have got my phone on me the door unlocks as get close to it.

Credit card sized key cards to fit in a wallet would be great.

I would recommend this lock.

I asked the help desk to give me some…

I asked the help desk to give me some basic information NOT in the user manual and all they did was to refer me back to the user manual. On further enquiry THEY IGNORED ME. It has now been nearly 2 weeks and there has been NO CONTACT. Don't bother with this company.

Please accept my apologies for the delay responding to your review.

The service you have received is definitely not what we aspire to.

In your case, if the wiring of the doorbell doesn't match the diagram in the user manual, you should have been referred to contacting a qualified electrician, as we are not qualified to give that information.

The ERA Protect Video Doorbell, needs voltage at the location of the doorbell of between 8V - 24V, however depending on your current wiring, may not be suitable as is.

Setting up has too many complication

Setting up has too many complication , i had a smart challenger before , a cheaper alternative but far easier to get working .

I have found that you sent a support ticket from a different email address on 20 June 2025, and this was responded to on the same day, with an alternative subscription code.

I’m not so good with sorting tek out so…

I’m not so good with sorting tek out so contacted the help line. They were straight on it sorted everything for me the alarm is first class ( brilliant) I’ve had it four years now and wouldn’t change anything. First class help
They are straight there when you need them all the cameras are very clear and being able to talk to people at the door so great when you’re out

A great product.

Fitted last weekend and did not work. Contacted support and after some discussion they sent a fitter out and sorted the issue.
Unit is now working as required and Smart. Access control by card, fingerprint and phone control.
