A EDP refugia-se nas estimativas para cobrar muito mais do que o devido. Quando se pretende cancelar o contrato enviam fatura onde referem leitura real e isso é falso. No meu caso a "leitura real' deles era muito superior ao valor marcado no contador. Fiquem atentos!

Worst electric company in portugal! They charge what they feel like every month even if the apartment is empty for 8 months or more. They promise to come and install equipment then don’t appear and no one gives you answers.
I really hope to leave this company and go with another electric company.

Não comprem ar condicionados na EDP !! Uma vergonha !!! Uma fraude !! Sem respeito pelos clientes !! Um péssimo serviço!! Estou desde o dia 15 maio 2023 a aguardar que me venham montar um ar condicionado!!! Quase três meses depois quando finalmente vieram montar o ar condicionado exigiram um andaime para a água gerada pelo ar condicionado não ficasse a cair para o terraço da minha vizinha !!! Moro num último andar e pretendia a montagem no muro do telhado mas para a EDP o ar condicionado fica a pingar para o exterior !!! Assim sendo, como recuso que o ar condicionado fique a pingar para o terraço da minha vizinha, não pude aceitar a montagem do mesmo !!! Exigiram um andaime !!! Uma vergonha !!!! Não adquiram aparelhos de ar condicionado na EDP !!!! Péssima equipa técnica de montagem !!!
Paying for non-existent service!
I took out the EDP Full contract 3 years ago which, amongst other things is supposed to give me access to an engineer to repair electrical appliances. Last year we had a problem with a dishwasher and more recently our water boiler broke down, so in both cases I contacted EDP to organise an engineer visit. In both cases I spent hours on the phone, often being hung up on after being on hold for ages. I finally got them to agree that they would send out an engineer but the engineers either did not turn up or never bothered to call me to arrange a date. Despite being chased every day for 2 weeks we never hot an engineer for our boiler and had to get it replaced by a local electrician. Terrible, terrible service by EDP and we are going to cancel the maintenance contract as it is a waste of money.

Portanto, determinam que vêm mudar efectuar uma intervenção em minha casa, determinam o dia e determinam a hora. Quando muito naturalmente não encontram ninguém em casa, cortam a luz, sem um aviso. Penso que isto dever ser, por si, ilegal. Mas não satisfeitos, ainda se atrevem a fazer-se cobrar por esse corte. O que estão a pedir? Que transite para outro fornecedor.

Cancele o meu contrato desde Fevereiro, passaram mas 1 factura, mesmo que tivesse feito novamente a reclamação na linha de atendimento, registrado como cancelado agora chega mas 1 factura de cobro com uma empresa jurídica, na línea de atención ao cliente dissem que tenho de pagar.
Empresa com a tarifa mais alta de electricidade.
Não recomendo a ninguém contratar com esta empresa

THE WORST COMPANY IN PORTUGAL AND IN MY LIFE!!!!!
I had an appointment to turn on electricity at my new apartment on Monday 13pm-15:30pm. Instead of sending a person they sent an sms telling they will do it online and, GUESS WHAT, THEY DID NOTHING. I was calling them all day to ask where is the electricity and what should I do. They answered “Oh it should work, well, we will send a person that may show up someday in 4 nearest days. Maybe tomorrow maybe Wednesday or Thursday”. FOUR DAYS!!!! I had cleaning, Fridge delivery, internet appointment. I had to reschedule everything 3 TIMES!!!! And they are so incompetent that weren’t even able to schedule a normal appointment.
Because of their own fault they didn’t even bother to come and fix it.
If you have a chance to work with any other company even from the moon better do it, but don’t pay this terrible service, terrible support, and terrible people!!!!!
A truly 'solar' destroying experience
After nearly 5 years with EDP whereby power service as generally been excellent I am disappointed to advise that for 2.5 years I have not had benefit from the 6 Solar panels/EDP box that was installed prior to house purchase.
It took 2 years of constant phone calls and going round in circles with their solar company to eventually get engineer to attend and fix broken box (they had advised me it was working and I insisted over and over it wasn't) That was 6 months ago or more. My bills, particularly in recent sunny months have not changed and after yet more calls I'm being advised that a colleague has yet to sort differences between single phase of solar and 3 phase supply of electricity. The chap from EDP solar says he hopes to get another colleague to call me within a week...
It's just soul destroying and unbelievable that EDP keep delaying and giving me the runaround. I guess it's to their advantage to have me pay month after month high bills rather than have cost saving but for me....I'm now going to investigate MEO or other supplier. I've long since had enough - now looking at alternative supplier.
Update: I’ve logged complain’t with EDP and seek compensation for numerous phone calls chasing for nearly 3 years and repeatedly being told someone will call back which they never do. I have yet to receive any response and am not surprised- they’re great at sending out invoices but lack customer service
Update: 16/05/23. So, after again not receiving any call back (this is the pattern for several years) I spoke to EDP who again put me through to their solar department. The chap was very helpful and I wasn't surprised that he could not find any trace of me speaking to his colleague a week earlier. He explained that, whilst he wasn't technical it could be I am getting benefit of solar panels - even when monitoring box was faulty. He could see a 'title exchange 5 years ago. However, I requested copy of contract as I don't have ANY confidence the 6 solar panels are giving me benefit from my 100+ euro monthly amount (1 person usage). He said he would investigate and 'get back to me'. Separately, today I received new contract info. from EDP to sign. 3 x PDF's with multiple pages of baloney from a 'no reply' email address...when doing a search NONE of the text contains 'Solar' within new contract. It appears to me the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. I am now in discussion with REPSOL to move away from EDP.
25/05/23 No contact from EDP ref. Numerous calls to verify solar energy being produced is benefiting me rather than them. The sun is shining for weeks yet my EDP bill is increasing rather than decreasing which makes me query solar meter is ONLY an EDP scam. Rip off.
Update 16/06/23. Out of the blue I received phone call advising EDP solar engineers need to install new equipment to resolve my solar issue on 16/06. 2 engineers came out and were initially uncertain why they were there but got on roof to check system (which had been checked when new control unit was installed Oct. 2022) and they advised me that 5 inverters weren’t working. Late Friday around 20:30 they finished and advised everything was now operative. However, the solar application EDP had asked me to install gave error that no solar panels were in situ? I contacted EDP again and was informed subsequently I need a new EDPReady box installed (I had one originally but EDP replaced it in Oct). So, they are coming out again on Monday 26th June to put one of these in….I’ll update further when/if it makes a difference.
07/07/23 So I had the revist as planned (same 2 guys) and they sorted out the application by installing some sort of unit into the control device that was fitted in Oct. 2022. I checked the application on my iPad and can now see solar wattage being generated - yippee! After years of phoning and rebuffs plus multiple visits it now appears working. However, I was a bit disappointed that upon leaving the guys said I would need to get log a call with edp to get the panels 'cleaned' . Especially since 3 times engineers were on the roof checking/repairing. Anyway I spent 40minutes last week to get through to solar dept. only to be requested to provide my phone and someone would call me back - this has not happened thus far. Back to square one? I hope not.
11/07/23 So I got phone call in the evening asking me to confirm my solar panels were now all OK. I highlighted that the engineers, as per my recorded call to edp a week before' had said there was low consumption as panels need cleaned. He then checked the 'EDP ready' status and said it wasn't working ! He said he would get another call logged. However, later that night I got a text from EDP out of the blue saying 'we have been trying to contact you please calase call us on xxxx xxxx number'. No one tried to call me since the chap earlier!

Where do I start? I would cry now, if it wasn't so laughably ridiculous to deal with EDP. To get electricity connected to our new home has been a living nightmare. Contracts can only be made online, so I hired an agent to take care of it, who was fantastic, and actually managed to jump through all the loop holes they set up. The bureaucracy is astonishing and EDP can only get away with it because they have monopoly on administrating the cobber. They scheduled us for connecting the electricity two times, two days in a row, and managed to not show up at all, and not sending any messages at all. When our agent called them, they had nothing but lame excuses, and lied about having sent messages. You almost give up settling in Portugal because of EDP alone... Unfortunately I can't give zero stars, or minus. They deserve that. And mind you, they have a profit of more than 680 million euros every year... They're a total and utterly disgrace!!! 🤬🤬🤬

The worst service i have come accross the globe. I had asked for the EDP inspection before I moved to a new rented place but they said all was good and we can move and need to switch on the gas. After a month of not getting bill I inquired, EDP store said no bill has come. The very next day EDP came and turned the gas off in the house on inquiring they say this the distribution company Which has cut the gas off as the last tenant might have asked to switch it off. I said it you are responsible in the first place wehn you didn't turn up. EDP didn't agree and fixed an appointment for 60 Euro after 4 days . The first one was free which they didnt even turn up and now i have to pay for the same and no reason was given. After 4 days when they came one of the guy says the inspector hasn't come so cant do anything. I mean am i responsible for this. I called up EDP again they say its the LISBOA GAS that didn't turn up so have to book anathor appointment after 2 days in the middle of Christmas .Now its been more than 7 days without cooking and heater . I had to take off from work for this, now again I have to take off. This is gross negligence of work and worst service. No one is taking responsibility in the company and everyone is pinning the mistake on someone else. NEVER Take such service .
All they want is to sell their extra service insurance card and stuff. Worst company and service
COBRANÇA INDEVIDA
Recebi um Vale Eficiência no valor de 1500€ ao abrigo do Plano Ambiental de fundo europeus,. A Edp aderia ao plano e garantiu que pela instalação de painéis solares não tinha que pagar um um cêntimo como vinha no contrato. Agora apresentan me uma fatura para pagamento da despesa (que até foi inferior ao valor do vale) Para não falar do que instalação demorou meses a ser continuamente adiada.
What a mess
Bought a new house and went to EDP to get the electricity contract on my name. I asked about the potencia because it seems very low. Can only run the fridge and the lights. As soon as you start the hoover or wash machine, the fuses go out.
The lady at the EDP office said that she would make an appointment with urgency, so that in 2-3 days the technican would come. The next day i got an sms saying it would be 8 days. I phoned to explain that this is unacceptable and the managed to move the appointment forward. Today I got a sms that the technician is on his way, and it would take 12 minutes for him to arrive at this address. I noticed the address number was wrong, so I phoned them again. While phoning, the technician already declared that he was at the address but nobody was there. He didn't phone or anything, while the lady on the phone with me said that if the technician had the wrong address, he will phone me for directions. But he clearly didn't bother with that, he just moved on to his next address. I phoned again telling them I have been without any power all week already and specifically asked for them to fix it today. Nothing is possible anymore, I will have to wait another week ... Maybe I should let them wait for the money of the next bill for a few weeks, I bet they will all of a sudden be very quick with treats towards me. What a ridiculous company ...
Looks like discrimination
I bought an apartment in Vale Do Lobo and set up a smart contract with EDP. I was called by an English speaking lady who ask me when the could inspect the electric inside for free as I have a smart contract. I lived now in an apartment in Castro Marim for 3 year and I have there also a smart contract and in these 3 years nobody from EDP has called me to make such an appointment. When I mentioned it, she told me that they only call in Vale do Lobo area…. Looks to me discriminations. A smart contract is a smart contract. Why only calling people in the nice areas and not people who has the same Smart contract in other regions. After my last question, she hang up…. and no one from EDP has came to check the internal electric anymore

Our experience of EDP Solar has been a disaster. We signed contracts in February for installation in May. A week in advance this was cancelled and rescheduled for July - again a week in advance it was cancelled and rescheduled for last week (early August) This new date was NOT cancelled so we had our electrician come to make the preparations - wiring, new fuse box etc. But nobody arrived, and EDP are ignoring our phone calls, emails and message left on their customer “care” site. We are in limbo, we have no idea what is going to happen and have been completely abandoned by EDP. Yet they continue to advertise their “5 Star” Solar Service. Avoid at all costs, I have never seen such an unprofessional service.
