Staff are beyond rude. No help or friendly service at all on the phone to the south east phone line.

I have been with DAF for 9 years and seen the quality of meat go do with increasing price hikes. The service is abysmal with missing products ordered a frequent event. The delivery men can only apologise.
The beef chunks are disgusting. When defrosted it is just skin and bristles. Never used to be so.
The pretty packaging now used is useless. Do people realise you can’t put it in the recyclable. It has to be taken to a place that deals with this product. The bags often split so defrosted juices spill everywhere.
I used to recommend DAF., but no more. My sister and I are of the same opinion.

Shocking
I went away from DAF due to its shocking quality and ridiculously high bone content and terrible meat quality. Had hoped it was just a blip. My wife bought some DAF again recently by mistake and nothing has changed. It’s like spooning through grit that’s even after I have removed all the big shards of bone.
My dogs stool are like dust and she struggles to pass. It’s all going in the bin.
I want to add that the mince I now use instead is the same price but 100x the quality.
Spend 5 mins on Google and my review will be verified. Go elsewhere.

Been using Daf for 8 years on my 10 year old and now on my 4 month old pup. Started her on the mixed premium meals and all good, how ever started to notice big bone pieces in the Premium. So thought it was just one off but now in budget brand the bone chucks are just ridiculous and are going to cause some serious blockage in dogs. Once iv used up my months supply I'm going to another supplier as spending 10 minutes a food portion picking out the bone chunks is not worth it. Looking at all other bad reviews I'm not only one. Plus all your sprats are rotten as I returned 4 bags and retailer opened up 9 bags whilst I was there all rotten.

I have been using DAF for a few years now and it has been getting worse and worse. I have had a vomiting French bulldog for 3 days now, he is constantly bringing up lots of bone fragments, my old tyme bulldog has dry dusty poo due to the bone content. I am even mixing it with no bone meat and free flow mince to try and balance the bone and nothing is working. I threw out £20 worth of food today and I won't be going back to DAF, they used to be the top at their game but not anymore.

I have reported this company to trading standards. After going through and picking out vast amounts of bone before each meal my cat has today been sick and vomited lots of tiny shards of bone!

I have sent an email and will be sending a recorded letter via mail for them to respond within 14 days.

Their lack of compassion for what they’re doing to our animals is disgusting.

The bone content is dangerously high and not as stated. Despite a high number of complaints, and dogs ending up in the vets, DAF still don’t seem to want to acknowledge it.

The venison in particular made my dog ill. The bone content was SO high he was lethargic, passing pure bone crumbing from his back end and crying whilst doing so. He was vomiting bone that was too large and dense to digest. I put him on boneless food, and he continued to pass bone for the following 2 days. He is 42kg, a small dog could have been in serious trouble.

I contacted the company, and like everyone, I was ignored.

The consistency is also sloppy, many are very fatty, and smell rancid. Sure the price is low, but I wouldn’t feed this brand again if it was free.

DAF was the first brand I used when I transitioned my dog over to raw around 12 months ago. They seemed a good value budget brand, even though at the time I found some proteins to have more bone content than others which I avoided due to them giving my dog constipation. But I still found a good selection of proteins which suited him well. But over the months I’ve found the bone content to have continuously increased, with some of the proteins now looking a completely different colour to what they did. I took on board advice to dilute with boneless which worked for some time. But I’ve found I’ve used more and more boneless to dilute and spend a lot of time picking big shards of bones out. The final straw was a further bout of painful constipation where he was yelping in pain when trying to 💩 so I will not purchase DAF again. I feel their labelling is very misleading and is causing a lot of dogs to be very unwell. I’m just glad I’ve stopped using them before I ended up with a big vet bill.

Dangerous food due to high bone content. This food is around 20% bone when the recommended amount is 10%. I believe this food is what caused my dog to have long term joint issues. One of my dogs has a beef allergy and so I fed him non-beef proteins and he became very itchy. It would appear DAF are using beef bone but not stating beef as an ingredient. Untrustworthy company.

My dog has been ill for 7 days, 2 visits to the vets.
Bad constipation & sickness, all down to DAF & the fluctuating bone content.
I posted on a raw feed site on FB, so many people experiencing the same problem. Large pieces of bone, higher than stated bone content & lots of poorly dogs

Stay well clear unless you want a trip to the vets

After years with DAF I am finally done after the third price increase this year and ability to buy fresh chicken in the supermarket cheaper. The quality of the meat and bone content is shocking. I will be reporting this to officially body. My dogs who would usually woof this down have made me throw away more than they have eaten for ages now

My dog was really I'll needing treatment under anaesthetic to clear bowel blockage containing large shards of bone , he had vomited the same the night before.
I wrote to the md on teo occasions and have reviewed on various sites with no response. So many small dog owners are reporting the same and the company do need to address this.
Their labelling is misleading which must contravene standards and one has to wonder why they are getting away with this. I read recently a statement made by a previous employee which adds to concerns.
Shame on this company and the outlets that stock DAF need to be made aware and consider why they stock this brand. 😡

I have been using DAF for about 6 months but the quality of their food varied every time offer it contained a lot more bone and skin that was adverted. on the last delivery the food was clearly off and when i open a few packs the smell made me sick it was that bad. I phoned they to complain and they offered to collect it and test it. They did collect but never let me know the test results if they even bothered to test it. Every time I rang they would just say they would chase it up and get back to me but never did. Also I have been chasing them for a refund for 3 months now and over 50 phone calls and always get the same answer we will look into it and get back to you but guess what never get that call back. sometimes as soon as you said the word "refund" they would just hang up on you. Support your local business yes you will pay more but the quality will be so much better. I now use Natural Dogs Direct and wow what a difference in quality. My Dog is so much happier

Left our order outside yet again after having phoned yesterday to double check a note had been put on our delivery slip to put our order in the outbuilding freezer which was all left unlocked for the driver. Before the last two orders we've never had a problem with daf deliveries, drivers have never had a problem putting items in the freezer. Our dogs food is defrosted, again. And you've only sent four of the eight items. On our last order items were substituted without asking. Absolutely sick of the poor service recently, you order your dogs food to make life easier, now I'm having to go out to a local supplier to buy more dog food because daf yet again, have been incapable of doing their job. Why bother updating your website and putting the price of your items up if you lose customers due to continuous mistakes like this? After nearly four years of ordering from daf I won't be ordering again.
DAF have also charged me for the entire order and not even sent half. Who needs the inconvenience?!

Used for a number of years but went downhill in the last couple. Too much bone causing dry powdery stools, or bloody diarrhoea. No In between. The quality of the food was very inconsistent from one order to the next.

I found chunks of butchers string in the minces only to be fobbed off and they just said what I already knew that it was simply butchers string. No apologies. Didn’t seem concerned. They lack any quality control. It’s cheap for a reason and dogs shouldn’t have to eat string!!
Also ordered some carcass in a bag which had thawed by arrival and I picked up the bag to carry through my house the carcass came out and splattered all over my floors and walls and the bag had been badly cellotaped together at the bottom. Shocking company never use again.

Dog food was off when open to the stage one pack was green and stunk the house out.. customer services are the worse in any business I've dealt with. Stuff missing off orders. Advised using someone else so sending back as binning most they agreeded to look at the food and replace after me telling them not letting my dog near it.. Great and the start but gone down hill service and food. Avoid

Delivery experience was very poor. I had ordered about 35 dinners for my pet, with a lot of time in advance. I was called 3 days ahead of time and told that 30 of my selected dinners were not available and I could chose from only 3 dinners that were appropriate to replace the 30 I had order. I was not happy doing this as my pet hadn't tried most of the flavours and since he is a picky eater I did not want so many of a single flavour.
Overall my biggest issue was that the person who reached out did not care about the inconvenience, never apologised for their poor stock selection and seemed very annoyed and me not being able to make up my mind quickly about the alternatives.
I had DAF before and agree with the quality described below, the bones are giant I could hear our pet struggle with them but he seemed to enjoy it so I wanted to give it another try. Unfortunately being left without food with 3 days notice is just not acceptable.

Wish they had a minus score. Complained about the large amount of big bone fragments in food. Weren’t interested. The reply was very dismissive. I would rather throw the remaining food away than risk it causing damage to my three Frenchie’s!!

Really bad quality meat, food crunchy from the massive amounts of bone, rancid and made both my dogs either sick or basically pooing chalky bone fragments. Staff completely uninterested, argumentative and rude, I really don't understand how complete food needs to be "elongated" with meat only to reduce the bone content, both my dogs have been absolutely fine on 10 10 80 on meats elsewhere - surely it's not balanced if I do that!
