I've fed Daf for years, weaned Boston terrier pups onto it...the cats also eat it and I've yet to have a problem with bone. It's not organic but plastic can be recycled (soft plastic like bread bag's). Have tried most brands out there yet they prefer Daf and absolutely thrive on it. Try it and let dogs decide..

DOG OWNERS BEWARE!! This brand of raw is LIFE THREATENING to your pups!! Absurdly high content of bones, writing this review while sat in the vets with my poor bulldog, his intestine are blocked with bone fragments and he requires emergency surgery to remove the blockage!! We will be taking This further its is disgusting that these scum bags claim to care for dogs wellbeing when in actual fact they are dishing out deadly, poor quality food for our beloved pets!!!

We have used Durham raw dog food for a few years with no problems but the last year their quality has definitely dropped. We had some packs that made all our dogs sick . We have had packs that have been well under weight by as much as 80 grams. Last week we bought a batch of 14 duck mince that we had to return to our local raw pet food stockists because every pack when opened absolutely stank of ammonia. The duck mince is not like it used to be and has got pinker and more like pate than a mince. Durhams quality has definitely got worse and we won't be buying from them again. I have tried contacting them but had no reply but from what I have heard they don't care about customer service anyway.

After 7 years of loyalty to this company, we caught on our ring telephone that the driver clearly and blatantly broke the handle on our chest freezer. Having notified them and showing them the video they have refused to accept any liability for it and instead blamed it on myself for asking the driver to put the delivery into the freezer. I am absolutely disgusted by thier actions over this, not even an offer to replace repair or take take responsibility for it. We have the whole thing on video and yet insist they are not at fault.
We have 3 dogs. My daughter has two dogs and would have continued to use them until this. Try a better product and far better customer care through “Just Naturals” 100% better by far in Every aspect.
DAF will come on here and reply to say it was my fault but don’t be fooled, they couldn’t give a crap about the customer as long as you keep buying their overrated food.

Lately meat has had pieces of bone that have been 1” long by half an inch wide. Also very sharp pieces are in the meat and I am sure the bone is being used as a filler as the bone content is definitely more than stated on the packs. My dogs are very constipated so the meat is diluted with bone free. It upsets me to hear my pets squealing when trying to pass the stools. I emailed DAF, a very nice man called me the next day and explained how the meat is processed and what size blades they use which didn’t mean much to me. I saved the very large pieces of bone, washed them and sent them to County Durham which I presume is the head office on 5th December 2023. As of yet I have not heard from them. I am contemplating speaking to DEFRA as this cannot be right. The DAF is competitive in pricing but it should be of a standard that ie right for our pets. I shall go back to my previous supplier whose meat is superb even though a bit more expensive.

If I could leave 0 stars I would, this product is DANGEROUS DO NOT BUY, my poor Frenchie has had to have an emergency vet trip because there was so much bone in this food, what are you playing at?! We found sharp prices of bone and teeth!! This should be illegal, we woke up in the middle of the night to her projectile vomiting out of her crate and has been throwing up yellow froth for 2 days since and has gone off her food entirely, we are now scrambling to find an alternative product that is suited to her allergies and she’s having to eat raw store bought turkey and beef mince until we can find an alternative, and she is allergic to beef and turkey! We are appalled and will be taking things further legally

Generally found DAF to be ok but very disappointed. Bought some meat-only food for my dog as she can't tolerate too much bone so I mix it with the regular DAF raw. The meat-only I bought this time is full of bones, some large and very sharp. I've had to go through it and pick out the bones as I wasn't able to get to my local retailer. Contacted DAF who were totally disinterested - no apology, no offer to investigate. Poor service, poor product.

We tried this brand as it worked out a little cheaper and I liked that they do their own deliveries. Our spaniel will literally eat anything we give him, except for this food. He's been eating it for about a week before he started refusing it and when he does have it his poos are sloppy and have loads of mucus, he's also farting a lot which he never has done before. He's never ever had bad poos and we've tried him on loads of different brands. When he refused it, i looked at it a bit closer and it doesn't look like there is any quality meat at all- just fat, bone and other unidentified parts. After reading horror reviews of frozen maggots, plasters and surgical blockages
I shall not be buying this anymore!

I recommend trying ProDogRaw- its not that much more expensive if you have a subscription and my dog loves it.

Not frozen or stored correctly made the dogs very sick, happened on 3 occasions so stopped buying them.

I have just used Durham Animal Feeds to deliver my dogs raw food. I can say from ordering to delivery I can not fault this company. I've had regular updates on time of delivery and have been spot on, one yesterday, and two this morning before it arrived. The driver, Taylan, was first class with his customer service. He took the time to answer questions on the products and gave me sound advice on my rescue dogs journey on raw feeding. He was very knowledgeable. I've used daf before buying from local pet food shops, first time buying direct and having it bulk delivered today and never had an issue with their products. I am shocked reading the poor reviews. I do see some of these reviews are old, maybe things have changed, I will be recommending DAF because I'm impressed with the service and it's great value for money. Thumbs up from me 👍

Delivery driver left frozen order on doorstep without knocking, we have a sign on the door for sales canvassers or cold callers to not knock, so he chose not to. Not a call to say the order is outside, in the 32° heatwave! It was left there for an hour! 2 previous orders they managed to deliver so why not today? I opened the order to slits in the packets and mushy defrosted food falling on the floor. I contacted customer service who seemed rude and stuck up with the driver?!? They offered an exchange to which I asked what date, then I have had no response since, half a day later, when my dog's need a delivery as they have no food! There is no compassion or empathy whatsoever. They seem to not care about retaining loyal customers, I will not be using these again and will advise people to stay away.

Meat was delivered was rancid, attracted big flys, sent photos as requested to daf, who could not have cared less, had to throw out £64 worth of meat, buy more, needless to say not from them. On my previous orders I have found BIG pieces of very sharp shards of bone and one order there were frozen maggots in the tripe. NO REFUND, nothing. Shall never be using them again. Save your money.

Please do not ignore the reviews on this website for the safety of your pets. My dog has vomited sharp bones and cut his backside with horrific bowel movements. The food absolutely stinks please do not just switch as its cheap. You get what you pay for and this stuff is dangerous.

Huge variety of raw food, bones and treats. Comes well packaged in easy to store blocks. Fab delivery service. I have been using Durham for a long time now (well over a year) without any problems. Always delivered (frozen) within a 2 hr window by a lovely man who my dogs adore. I cannot get over all the 1 star reviews on here it’s absurd and completely opposite to the service I receive fortnightly. My dogs (border collies) are thriving on daf and I am always being complemented on their shiny coats. Very happy pooches here.

My dog became incredibly sick requiring veterinary treatment due to their raw. Never again. They've changed, the food quality is not the same. I was disgusted to see them at Crufts. Please for the sake of your dogs avoid them.

Throughout the time of our pet shop stocking this we have had endless issues. Not only customer complaints but as regards to customer service too. They do not deserve business nor do pets deserve to eat it.

They always make excuses every other week of why it can't be delivered, the driver is ill, the van broke down. The vans of which are meant to be refrigerated yet the raw has arrived defrosted on various occasions and dripping in blood. The drivers have stated the van fridges don't work.

They have a can't be arsed attitude, money matters not pets. We have had customers complain of dogs throwing up, large, sharp bones with higher bone content than stated, foreign objects in the food and not properly ground. The customer service don't want to know or care. If you don't want a vet bill avoid this company. Take notice of the flavours and how each week it varies in colours of the rainbow and claims to be the same as the previous week..

We were told basically either collect the food from Halifax or we can't have it until after the Easter weekend. Basically tough s#&%!

It had also gone up for the second time this year with no notification. No refund given as was asked. Totally unprofessional company. Who don't take shards of sharp bone seriously and never accept fault.

Vans so called maintained yet break down each week and fridges don't work. They will leave it out in the sun or behind the back of bins at random times if they do deliver.

You get what you pay for. Avoid the vet bills and hassle please pay a slightly more and give your pooch anything but this food...

Ordered for the first time at Crufts, told them my dog couldn’t have bone, so they recommended the starter pack. I paid, delivery due a couple of weeks later. It arrives no problem at 6.30am (they didn’t ring the bell) so it was left to defrost before I even saw it in the porch. Then I open it and see every single item is 80/10/10, so contains 10% bone. Have called, emailed and zero response. Will not be ordering again from them.

I bought product from this company. I phoned to confirm money had been taken and my stock confirmed. When it comes time to deliver my product, I am told my product is no longer available as they have sold my product to someone else so they are double dipping.
Dont trust them with a barge pole as they are either crooks or are so amateur they cant keep a simple spreadsheet. trading standards have confirmed to me when you buy a product it is yours and the company has no right to re sell. speaking to the manager she lost it and started shouting at me saying I was shouting at her. no doubt after this review I will be band from purchasing off them again.

Good value for money compared to other raw brands - however both my cats and dog just didn't get on with it. After only a few weeks on DAF they all became constipated with big bone chunks in their poo, when my dog also threw up loads of bone chunks I decided it was time to stop. I will go back to making my own balanced raw, as I think the bone content in DAF is higher than the packets say - and I also think the bone chunks are far too big.

This was a substitute by my supplier who was out of stock of one of my normal proteins. Please be careful if you use this, the bone content I suspect is higher than states and fragments sharp.
