Excellent customer service from Cycliqs
Excellent customer service from Cycliq
I had an issue with the mounting interface on my Fly12 Sport, where one of the plastic locking tabs had broken.
I contacted Cycliq support, sent them some photos and explained what had happened. The communication was friendly, quick and straightforward throughout the entire process. They asked me to return my Fly12 Sport for inspection and arranged a replacement without any hassle.
The replacement arrived quickly and everything went very smoothly from start to finish.
It’s great to see a company not only making good products but also standing behind them when something goes wrong. Excellent after-sales service and a very positive experience with Cycliq.
Thanks to the Cycliq team!
Response to unit fault
After approximatly a year my cycliq fly 12 sportunit stopped responding. Cycliq were prompt and quick to offer solutions. When these didnt work they had me post my unit back and before it even arrived sent me a replacement. Very happy with support throughout and overall very happy with product which provides high quality action footage.
I had a very positive experience with Customer Service(Roger)
I had a very positive experience with Cycliq’s customer service. Roger was responsive, helpful and professional in handling my issue. I really appreciate the excellent after-sales support and the way he took care of my case. Great service and highly recommended!
Keep Cyclists Safer
I wanted to share how much I appreciate my Fly12 Sports. Its lightweight camera design is a brilliant example of practical innovation, and Cycliq’s clear focus on cyclist safety has given me greater confidence when riding my road bike.
Knowing that an incident involving an aggressive driver can be recorded helps remove uncertainty when accounts differ. With so many challenging interactions on the road, the Fly12 Sports can educate the public and encourage safer, more respectful sharing of the road.
I also appreciate how seamlessly the Fly12 Sports pairs with my Garmin Edge 1050. The integration is effortless and makes an already excellent product even more valuable. Please share my thanks with the team for creating such a thoughtful device.

Cycliq Fly6 Pro Rear Bike Cam opens up
Cycliq Fly6 Pro Rear Bike Dash Cam
This is a great device unfortunately it opens up while you are riding. It has opened on every single bike ride I've been on in the past month. Yesterday it opened up while I was going down a bumpy road. Today it opened up while I was climbing a 12% grade. Climbing a 12% grade does not have very many vibrations so I don't know why that would cause it to open up and then it goes beep beep beep, very annoying.
Have to get off the bike and close the door again.
On some rides it has opened up no less than three times on a 39 mile bike ride.
Long term review of Cycliq 12 and 6…
Long term review of Cycliq 12 and 6 camera lights ( > 3 years). Generally sales good, delivered in good condition. Peripherals quite overpriced, for example an additional handlebar mount is £25 for a very small piece of plastic, but generally very satisfied for the first two years of use.
The camera quality is good and battery life ok, though using the front camera with a light after 3.5 years of daily use, I can get less than an hour and a half even with the light intensity turned to low.
Biggest issue is weak plastic on the base of the camera, which uses a turn mount system. The small (few mm) plastic threads broke on routine use and now can no longer be fitted to any mount. Although CS were quick to reply and polite, they could only offer discount (30 increased to 40%) on an entirely new camera (basic price £319 new) and no option for workaround or offer of repair in spite of requesting this specifically (1.5 years out of a two year warranty).
In summary, a great product in the short term, but weak points at the camera base, lack of any suggested fix from the CS, and dwindling battery life means I cannot recommend this product.
A big note of caution - new camera required
A big note of caution. If the plastic “lugs” break on the mounting on the camera body (which they do) then the mounting can’t be replaced - IT’S A TOTALLY NEW CAMERA!! For such an expensive item this is a major design fault.
Cycliq warranty experience
Cycliq warranty experience:
I ordered a Cycliq Fly 6 camera from them almost a year ago. Some issues came up with the audio recording—at random. (Every now and then, the microphone was over-amplified on the recordings, resulting in noisy audio.)
The support team was helpful throughout the entire process and replied quickly to my emails. After I completed the requested troubleshooting steps/tests on the device, they shipped out a brand-new, original product without any hesitation. It was shipped from outside the EU, and Cycliq fully covered the customs duties and all other associated costs.
At the same time, they asked me to send the old device back to them for further inspection (it was enough to mail just the device itself). They provided an Austrian address for this, so it only had to be shipped there. This part was at my own expense.
My take: I experienced fair and professional customer service. I am highly satisfied, and the quality of the camera is excellent, as is the battery life.
Thank you Cycliq Support Team!
(P.S :I hope the Android app will get Strava integration soon as well)

Cycliq 12 sports
Cycliq 12 sports. Front video cam. Costly for what you get.
Unable to view film directly after event, doesn't connect to cellphone with Bluetooth, can't even view film on wifi when home unless you remove card and buy a reader or have to load onto computer/laptop.
Unlike a cheap Chinese brand at $160 that also has gps and you view straight away, also has speed straight away.
To connect to edge i had to attend their office is Subiaco to get technicians to do it.
Since than my videos are now upside down when viewing on laptop.
My opinion is lots of issues starting with software.
Their tram lines have nothing to do with legal passing distance as it's 50cm either side of camera placement giving 1 meter between tram lines.
I do not recommend this product and expect company to go broke.
Excellent Service — Above and Beyond
I own several Cycliq devices, and recently one of the tethers snapped. I contacted customer support and was genuinely impressed with how they handled it.
They responded very quickly and sent multiple replacement tethers with expedited shipping —> all completely free of charge. Albeit out of warranty coverage.
In short: Excellent customer service and a great overall experience. Highly recommended!
Excellent
Excellent. Very responsive customer service. Kind, considerate, help you out immediately with any questions. :):):)
Fly 12 Sport Battery & Lug Issues
My Fly12 Sport has lasted 3 years of summer use. By then battery life for camara + light on modest settings was down to 90mins. Support were helpful, I ran a bench test plus ensured all updated, on correct memory card plus full reset. Unfortunately out of warranty. I also noticed one of the soft lugs were broken off.
Of interest I also have a Fly12 CE and a Fly 6 CEGEN 3, both older, both continue to give 4hrs plus, on modest camera & light. Why is this?
I would suggest CYCLIQ that an review of battery life is needed on the Fly 12 Sport models. How about a replacement battery option?
Cycliq Fly12 Sport...my honest opinion
I have been using the Cycliq Fly12 Sport for approximately three to four weeks. Overall, my impression of the device is that it performs adequately, though there are some notable limitations.
The primary reason I purchased this camera was to capture incidents while cycling, particularly the ability to clearly record vehicle number plates if required. Due to my work schedule, I typically ride early in the morning and am often on the road from around 4:30 a.m. This means it is usually dark when I leave, and during the winter months it is often dark when I return home as well.
In low-light conditions, I have found that the camera struggles to capture readable number plates. Instead, the footage often shows a strong white glare or reflection from the plates, making them difficult or impossible to identify. It is worth noting that I currently use the Fly12 Sport purely as a camera and do not use its integrated light. Instead, I run a separate, significantly brighter front light. This may be contributing to the glare, although I still need to test the camera using the built-in light to compare the results.
Night riding in wet conditions further reduces the effectiveness of the camera. When vehicles pass in these conditions, it can be difficult to even distinguish the colour of the car, let alone identify the make, model, or number plate. That said, it is possible that even a high-quality action camera might face similar challenges in these conditions.
In terms of video settings, the difference between 4K and the 2K resolution I typically use is relatively minor. The 4K mode records at 24 frames per second, which I find slightly too jerky for practical use while riding. As a result, I generally prefer the smoother performance of the 2K setting.
During daylight hours, the camera performs reasonably well. Even so, to clearly read a vehicle’s number plate, the car generally needs to be quite close—within roughly 15–20 metres. Beyond that distance, the plate becomes difficult to read in the footage.
The stabilisation is acceptable, though it does not match the level of stabilisation typically seen in dedicated action cameras.
I do recognise that the Fly12 Sport is designed primarily as a cycling dashcam rather than a full-featured action camera, and that design intent likely explains some of these limitations. On the positive side, battery life when using the camera alone is very good, which would likely be a trade-off if using a traditional action camera instead.
As for whether it is worth the price, I remain somewhat undecided. While it performs adequately for its intended purpose, improvements to night performance would make a significant difference. Additionally, if the 4K recording mode supported 60 frames per second, it would likely result in a noticeably better overall experience.
Terrible products and support
Terrible products and support. Purchased front and rear cameras and they are far from cheap. Within 12 months the front failed, LCD screen was unreadable, SSD card could not be read. Endless back and forth to get them to replace. Fly 6 gen 3 rear camera started to turn itself off at random times while riding and would only charge to 84% (red light rather than green). Support were slow to respond and just had the usual advise of reset etc. Firmware needs a file to be downloaded from their website, can’t do it from the app. Website area for firmware download constantly said that it could not be contacted and please try again later. Ended up discarding both and buying Garmin.
Royal Mail Delivery Failed
Ordered a front and rear camera before Christmas. Royal Mail tracking showed it had gone awol, eventually being delivered to a place I didn’t recognise. Roger kindly got another parcel sent to me to replace, but again Royal Mail couldn’t manage to deliver it to my address. Didn’t even attempt delivery to my address in London, just redirected to Wolverhampton. Roger then was very helpful and gave me a full refund. However, despite the customer service being amazing, I still don’t have the cameras. Maybe they should think about trying a different delivery service!
Not waterproof and battery life is extremely exaggerated
Like others noted, battery life is terrible - if you use rear taillights figure 2 to 3 hours, without rear lights on, less than 4 hours. Worst deal breaker is the extremely poor waterproofness - unit will die even in a light drizzle scenario. DON'T BUY, including the "improved" model. Ironically, several Chinese companies turn out good rear cameras for under $100 with much better quality (check eBay or various Asian apps).
Very poor cycliq12 battery runtime after 3 years
I bought a cycliq12 about 3 years ago and now have very significant battery runtime issues. The spec says 7 hrs but within 2 years (the warranty period) it was running for c3.5hrs. Its now running at 2hrs 40m on a benchmark test and c2hrs on the road.
Support aren't interested in offering me a meaningful discount on a new one and as its a sealed unit they can't swap out the battery.
I fully accept that batteries degrade over time but not to this extent.
If you buy one go into it with your eyes open and diarise a benchmark test before the warranty runs out.
Great device and customer service
Been using the fly12 for a few years every day. Had been useful in reporting numerous incidents to the police (successfully). The device is good quality and had very clear videos.
After 3yrs the battery life was significantly shorter. While I would like it to last longer I had been using it continuously for that time. I got into contact with them and they offered me a discount on buying a new one (got the fly 6 pro too). Great customer service!
This is a company I really wanted to love
This is a company I really wanted to love, an entrepreneurial outfit based in Perth, Western Australia. I've had numerous products, at least half a dozen, beginning when they shipped their first rear camera, and while the features and functionality are great on the whole, with the exception of a Fly 12 CE which I've had for 18 months and continues to function, in my experience their products have significant reliability issues. Issues have ranged from water ingress (an earlier Fly 6 design problem) to charging connectors that are not durable and fail, to failures with internal electronics. The customer support on the whole isn't great. Within the warranty period acceptable, but out of warranty, when my products have failed as a result of poor product quality they are quite inflexible and unforgiving. Its too bad, a company I really would love to see succeed. And products that are a big deal to have on a bike. But my experience has me now buying Garmin cameras I'm very sorry to say.
