I ordered roses online, one an hybrid tea rose called Rachel. When the rose arrived I could see that the flowers were different to the rose I ordered. I contacted customer services who asked for a photo. They told me that it was the correct rose, but in fact it was a shrub rose called Rachel’s joy. I then sent photos of the rose and the labelling which was showing Rachel not Rachel’s Joy, stating that this plant had been incorrectly identified. They replied saying they would pass this information on to the field team. To date I’ve had no further response from them , or apology. I’m stuck with a rose I don’t particularly like, which will eventually grow too large. I am disappointed in their lack of care. I have always bought my roses from them as I think they are the best. However May think twice before I buy from them in future

Would prefer to give 0 stars were that possible. My wife ordered two container roses, both apparently in stock according to their on-line store, with a 5-7 day delivery quoted. I then received dispatch details from DPD with tracking details for the order. 12 days later and no roses so I e-mailed Peter Beale Roses asking where they were only to receive a curt response saying they had trouble with their computer systems and neither were in stock so a refund was being processed. These were supposed to be a gift for a dear friend! It’s the last order I will place with this company, I cannot believe their indifference to customer service and the off-hand response after letting us down so badly! We have now ordered from the excellent David Austin who never let us down.

Sadly, seems to have gone drastically downhill. Have purchased beautiful plants and roses in past and been so pleased. Recent purchase included a rose that seems to have some disease. Ok it happens, but emails and telephone calls to them has resulted in zero response. If I lived locally I would have returned the rose. Unfortunately will not buy again from them as after sales service is so important

Ordered multiple roses online and in person over past 3 years. A memorial rose which we added ashes to died which was awful for the family. I reached out to beales to replace the rose as a gesture of goodwill as it was a really important thing for the family. Of course they didnt have to but this was a special rose. Ultimately they told us we had put a lot of ash in to the pot(!), to put the ashes elsewhere and that they wouldn't replace it as it was 3 years on and that we just hadn't cared for it. Started estimating to me how many kilos of ash we had added which was pretty awful to be honest. Another rose we bought on ebay on at the same time and added the same ashes to is doing well. I can now get the same name rose elsewhere online and won't be buying beales again. What a shame and horrible, unsympathetic customer service. So don't buy anything from here as a present or memorial.

I’ve only give this company one star as I couldn’t proceed with my review without adding any stars.
I have tried numerous times to make an online purchase for a container rose as a gift over the past seven days. After I click the purchase button, the wheel spins round then I get take. Back to my order page. No message to say the order was successful or unsuccessful which is very frustrating as I’m left in limbo not knowing if I’ve ordered or not! I have also emailed the company twice both of which have been ignored. I won’t be using this company and certainly won’t be recommending them.

Poor customer service.
Ordered bareroot roses, took a long time to be dispatched, and were a bit worse for wear when they did arrive thrown in a paper sack with broken branches.

All planted up and now they are in flower, one is the wrong rose.
Messaged the company with pictures of what I have got / what I should have got, and they are fobbing me off and not taking responsibility for sending the wrong item.
Takes a long time for a reply, despite my messages being read.
Pay by credit card if you order from here, so you can do a charge back when it goes wrong........

We went to the Cafe and ordered a ham and chutney sandwich and a coronation chicken sandwich. The price was £18 so we expected quality. What we got was part stale bread and tasteless coronation chicken. We sent an email to complain and got a reply saying that the staff had been very busy at the weekend and were tired. We were also told that we should have complained at the time and we would have been given a refund. We will not be visiting again out of principle because of that awful reply from management.

Ordered a potted rose, but have received no confirmation email, I have since emailed this company to find out when it will be posted out....no reply!!
I then have tried to phone, surprise, surprise the phone line cuts off after one ring tone (Sunday opening times).
I have since checked out the reviews on trust pilot, (shambolic) shame I didn't before purchasing as I would used another company.
I would like to cancel my order and shall never purchase of you again.

You wait and wait and wait, you contact to ask what is happening with your order and you wait and wait again.

AVOID THIS COMPANY.

I ordered 2 bare root roses and 1 container rose. The website said despatch would be 3-5 working days from ordering. As I have to be home to accept deliveries, it would be helpful to be informed of despatch. After 10 days I contacted them. I received a less than apologetic email and the bare root roses arrived a few days later and were of good quality. The pricier “container” rose however took over a week more, with no notice of despatch. It was poorly rooted with no rootball and had clearly only recently been potted. All the compost fell away immediately when the pot was inverted. Stems were thin and reedy.
Despite the 2 healthy roses I’m not impressed overall and likely won’t use Peter Beales again

Order was dispatched fast and securely packaged, a beautiful Rose Bush has arrived looking super healthy and a great size specimen in a
3l pot. Complete with labels and stake. I had a little confusion with my order, however the issue was sorted within minutes, definitely would order again and definitely recommend. 5* thank you.

I ordered a rose bush for a Ruby wedding. It didn't arrive on the expected date as, although my money had been taken weeks previously, the order apparently hadn't been processed! I only found this out when I phoned them. I got an apology but the anniversary rose bush I had paid for was no longer available. I opted for a bare root rose delivered last week as an alternative. I understand mistakes can be made but in my view it is how the mistake is acknowledged that is what matters in good customer service. As Peter Beale is such a big company I asked if I was going to get anything else to make up for my sister not getting her special gift till 3 months later. They had had had my money in their accounts since July. I was offered a free gift card and free delivery - oh and I would get the difference in the price of the replacement rose refunded! Really? I think that is a legal requirement! I ask the very nice and apologetic girl on the phone to ask again and said surely they could stick in a bag of spring bulbs or something as a gesture to make up for my missing this important anniversary date. She asked again and I got offered a 60g bag of rose feed. I gave up at that point. The rose was delivered last week with the (3 months late) free anniversary card and the very small bag of rose feed. Very disappointing customer service, each ' extra' being hard fought for and grudgingly given. And finally, on delivery, no planting instructions were included. I will never use this company again.

We had jacket potatoes which were not cheap so I was expecting to be really nice. The jacket potatoes were the worst I’ve had anywhere. They were small, skin was soggy and not fluffy inside. Also not very hot. I had to ask for more cheese and butter as there was hardly anything on it and the cheese was horrible processed stuff pre greated. Really disappointed would not go back again for lunch. Completely overpriced for that terrible potatoe

I cannot tell you how pleased I was with my eden rose from Peter Beales Roses. Great price, fast delivery and the rose arrived in bloom too. Fast forward a couple of months or so and my plant has grown beautifully healthy, has more blooms and lush foliage. If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would !

this company was recommended by david austen...i ordered a rose..arrived on time and in good condition..however within 2 days it started getting blackspot..leaves started flipping over upside down and gone yellow..i rang and got told to water it generously and give it liquid feed...so i did..but no joy..i rang again..got told the same thing...and literally the foliage looks terrible..o rang asking for my money back..and got told someone will call back..i hope they do..and the only department i seem to get through to is sales...any other department there seems to be nobody there...very very disappointed with advice given ..as it stands i cannot recommend peter beale...stick to david austen

Just had a phone call from peter beale..they apologised and gave me a full refund...so i have changed the star rating from 1 star to 4...plants falling ill is part of life..what the company does to resolve the issue is what makes a good or bad company..peter beale has just proved they care for thier customers...
what i didnt tell them till after the refund is that i have terminal cancer and very serious heart condition..so them refunding made a huge difference to me..

I have emailed and completed an enquiry form advising that 2 ground cover roses which were purchased by my son for a birthday present have both died and to date no response.
Other roses purchased from other suppliers in the same bed are thriving.
Disappointed and let down by this company.

Beautiful healthy hybrid Felicia potted rose, it's even in blooms🌹, delivered late than the date expected but it's worth the wait, understanble, garden centres are busy and sometimes it might in the post, but very happy😊, would buy again, highly recommend.

Would give NO STARS IF POSSIBLE. IF this is for a special occasion DONT BOTHER! I order an anniversary wishes potted rose for a 70th anniversary, very important to me anyway, on 16th june. Phoned on 20th june NOT DISPATCHED i was told it would be sent either 21st or 22nd . Phoned again today 23rd to find out progress. Still not dispatched after checking i was told dispatched would be SOMETIME NEXT WEEK!! Well thanks for that why not tell me when i ordered it on telephone as payment impossible on line. Very disappointed customer would not recommend.

Never heard of Peter Beales Roses before so was quite anxious after I placed my order of 4 potted roses for my horticultural therapy garden.

Ethel, St. Ethelburga, and two Souvenir de la Malmaison.

They arrived around 10 working days later, all absolutely stunning plants. Very healthy, established and quite large already. Can't find anything negative to say about the plants. Only improvement would be that a despatch email would be nice.

Thankfully, i'm broke. That's the only reason why I can't order anymore otherwise i'd be neck deep in St. Ethelburgas. The scent is so addictive!
