I purchased a Charles Bentley BBQ through Tesco Marketplace for £109.99, and it has been one of the worst online shopping experiences I have had.

The BBQ arrived with bent and deformed parts, and some components could not even be assembled properly. On top of the damage, the overall quality is extremely poor. The metal is incredibly thin, flimsy, and feels more like a very cheap budget product than something costing over £100. I have seen better quality products sold for a fraction of the price.

Instead of accepting responsibility and providing a full refund, the company refused to take the product back. They offered a BBQ cover as an apology or a replacement of the same product, but I had completely lost confidence in the quality of their products and requested a full refund instead. That request was refused.

My impression is that the company stands behind products of very poor quality while making it unnecessarily difficult for customers to obtain a refund when the product is not satisfactory.

Save your money and buy from a company that values quality and treats its customers fairly. I would never purchase from Charles Bentley again.

Recently purchased a parasol cover and base. The cover is good quality and will keep the parasol dry and clean when not in use.
The bases are very heavy and support the parasol keeping it upright and sturdy, very pleased with both items. Arrived quickly too.

Purchased large garden parasol with 4 weights. The above are all perfect and just what I expected.
The delivery wasn’t quite so good. Was told it would take upto 5 working days, in total it took about 12 days and arrived in 3 different deliveries.

Absolutely love my new 6 seater aluminium table and chairs set, not only did it come with cushions bit i managed to get a decent promo code. I love how sturdy this is, especially for the auK weather. I recieved all front legs for one chair, the company was very quick in replying back regardless it being the weekend, and have arranged for the right legs to be sent out. top customer service.

My 2nd Charles Bentley bench…my first one rusted very badly…I always painted it with hammerite paint every year…but it rotted away eventually…I will be mindful to put this one away in the garage through the winter

The protective coating is poorly applied with areas of bare metal visible. This was notified to Charles Bentley customer services who have not responded. When Charles Bentley did respond they referred to a totally different product to the one I purchased.

I ordered a parasol and a base. Two parasols arrived. No base. Spoke to customer services who arranged for the unwanted parasol to be collected and promised to send the base. Parasol was collected. Still no base. Yesterday another parasol arrived. What on earth is going on with your company? I have now spoken to customer services on three occasions but I am still deficient one parasol base and surplus one parasol. Please send no more parasols!

... (The next day, 09/06/2026). A courier has just arrived with ... ANOTHER PARASOL! No parasol base. We declined the delivery. Of course, it's just funny by this stage. And mystifying. I mean, how does Charles Bentley make a profit? Customer services are unfailingly polite and have undertaken to do their very best to find and deliver a parasol base. They've told us to keep the supernumerary parasol. We'll donate it to charity.
