Bought a new Lumix Bridge Camera and memory stick. The sales person was absolutely first class, Great service and product knowledge. Earlier in the week I had tried to buy the same camera on Amazon ... which tuned out to be a horrendously big mistake which I will still be sorting out for weeks to come. I just wish I had gone to Castle Cameras in the first place. Even though I knew what I wanted, I came out with the right product and a lot more knowlegable. Amazon is great for small purchases, but you cant beat a specialised camera retailer ... and the price was great too!

Ok, I had a terrible experience at this store last Friday, It was almost like they didn't want to sell me something or thought i was wasting their time, awful place and staff made me feel like I wasn't welcome, to summarise, i will include my original message to them which has so far not been answered or addressed.

I dont appreciate the way I was just treated in your shop, I came in, with a genuine intent to purchase a computerised telescope.

Only to be confronted by a member of staff at the door telling me you were about to close in a few minutes, I was not aware of your closing time, I asked if thats what he said because I wasn't 100 percent sure because of traffic noise, he replied to say "yes we are closing, unless you want to buy something very expensive" then locked the door behind me as I walked in.

I then made an enquiry about telescopes with the lady at the till, we were trying to talk about my options when another lady appeared to say the warehouse room was now closed.

All in all a very bizarre experience.

Now, im not sure if it was my scruffy appearence or maybe my non hoity toity accent that caused your staff to assume I was wasting their time but I can assure you I was there to "buy something expensive" as the man so gracefully put it.

They say we should support our pixel businesses, then this is how a local business treats people? Very strange.

I shall take my business elsewhere and not bother you again.

I recently bought vortex razor 27-69-85 scope and after reviewing the photos I queried a small mark to the eye optic rubber cup. They said it’s only a scuff but I asked if it had been dropped and they emphatically denied this again saying it’s nothing more than graze it scuff. They boasted it was sold with a star rating so I went ahead and bought it. It seemed to be ok and I decided keep it but after about 3 weeks I decided to replace it as they free from vortex. Then when I removed the damaged rubber cup I noticed quite a bit of missing black paint exactly where the damage was. That confirmed it had been dropped as a scuff would not cause that damage. I contacted castle cameras but up to now they ignored me. I will up date this review in time

Excellent communication and delivery time. I bought a used EF100-400mm Series 2 Canon lens. I explored the market extensively (including a national search via AI) but the one I found at Castle is as new and arrived in its original box, with original case, scratch free, dust free with original instruction booklet. The same at MPB would have been a couple of hundred pounds more and I'd have paid a similar price via a private sale on Ebay with no guarantees. There was no lens hood so I emailed Castle and two days later I received one f.o.c. - they could not have been more responsive or respectful. I write lots of reviews and have high expectations of any company that has my business - I'd have no hesitation using Castle Cameras again or recommending them to friends and fellow club photographers.

I ordered a secondhand lens from Castle Cameras; the price was good and the condition was marked as excellent. To my amazement it was despatched that day! There was an issue with DPD so it was slightly delayed getting to me, but this was absolutely nothing to do with Castle Cameras, who were friendly and helpful when I contacted them. The lens is exactly as described - in very good condition and it performs well - I'm looking forward to using it. I wasn't aware of Castle Camera before now but I'll definitely keep them in mind for future purchases - excellent product and customer service.

Bought a Minolta X-700 from them that was slated to only have one 50mm lense included inside it. They included free of charge an extra zoom lense as well as a camera strap.

Camera worked a treat as I have now developed two rolls off it. Can easily reccomend. Very good for the price as well.

Ordered item znd received within 3 days. Good price for a relatively unusual item not a lot if 2nd hand examples item received appears to be better than rating they gave it. Will use again

Ordered a pair of steiner binoculars on Friday morning, and received them on Saturday afternoon.
Great service and £100 cheaper than Amazon.

My experience with Castle Camera was perfect. I bought a used Canon A1 with 50m lens in very good condition and the price was really reasonable. The camera came very well package and cared for within 2 days of mu purchase. I would defo recommend it for anyone one looking to get their first camera.

After narrowing down my choice of 2 cameras though exhausting hours on line, one quick call to the guys as Castle cameras and I was given helpful, impartial advice that ultimately ended up saving me money and with the perfect new camera.
Camera was delivered next day well packaged and does exactly what I was promised. I'm one happy Shopper!!

After being recommended castle cameras by every friend and family member from beginners to professional photographers in the local area I popped in for advice on the perfect camera for some upcoming travel. Every staff member was friendly, informative and excited to help me find the perfect camera for my needs. Charlie was particularly helpful and took me through the pros and cons for my needs between what felt like every camera they had available within my budget. They also offer a great trade-in service for old equipment you have which allowed me to buy the camera I wanted for a better price than anywhere else I found online. As a beginner I felt really well supported and listened to, there was no upselling and plenty of extra advice on apps and tips to get me started with my chosen camera. I'm sure I'll be back and recommending them to everyone!
