Car and Classic staff were very helpful in assembling information likely to stir interest in the car, and displayed photographs portraying the car's best features. This relieved sellers of a task they were not normally experience in. however, the price for this assistance was a sizeable reality check.

I’ve just completed the sale of my…
I’ve just completed the sale of my classic XJS convertible with Car & Classic and it was a classic experience from start to finish. I chose their photographer because professional pictures make all the difference, plus the buyer knows a representative from C&C has seen the car in person and then their creator puts the professional editorial together about the car.
We sold at our £price first time out. I believe the presentation of the images & their description sold the car. We had 202 pictures, and didn’t have to answer lots of questions because the pictures & video told the whole story. The sales process is highly efficient, the buyer must pay in full within 5 days ( they did) & the funds are safe in their escrow account until the day of physical transfer. On The day of transfer of the car, the buyer & seller both just hit the transfer button supplied by C&C. The notification that it’s complete and it’s okay to let the car leave, is instant. So the funds at this point can only go to the seller.
We were both very impressed how efficient it was & how these protections are in place for both the seller & the buyer.
The funds were actually in our bank account less than an hour later.
I can highly recommend car & classic, their auction process is ‘trustless’, meaning trust isn’t an issue.
Their process works extremely well.
All we had to do was take personal responsibility to present the car at its very best.

Having 202 images and video to give potential buyers such a clear picture of the car is exactly what helps make a remote purchase feel much more straightforward.
We’re also pleased the escrow and transfer process gave both you and the buyer confidence on the day. Knowing exactly when the car can be handed over and when the funds are released removes a lot of the uncertainty that can otherwise come with selling a car privately.

Bad comms, very difficult to deal with
Submitted my car to auction which is not a cheap option, service has been disappointingly poor. Emails unresponded to for days, dont pick up the phone, no control over your advert during the auction format. Terrible experience once you list, the service drops off a cliff.

Overall a very good experience
Overall a very good experience. The people I spoke to were very helpful, guidelines were clear and costs were explained. A very safe way to sell your car. Mine sold without hassle on the first attempt.
The only slight niggle i would have is the only form of identification they would take is a valid passport or digital driving licence which not everyone has. More flexibility on other forms if ID would be useful.

Pleased with the high bid
Great marketing created a larger than expected interest in my car which resulted in a higher final bid than expected. Kept in contact and gave sage advice. Price is acceptable. Only issue was that there appeared to be a lack of or miscommunication between my advisor and the person who was posting the photographs. Payment made within minutes of releasing my car to the lucky buyer.
