Had an enjoyable experience

I came in 20 minutes early. My appointment was for 10 am one of your staff asked me if I needed assistance. Her name was Jess she was very helpful and after getting my glasses she took great care in ensuring every thing was fine. The service was excellent and I'd recommend Boots eye care to friends and family. As for recommendations I'd say you have no need to change anything. Thank you very much for making my visit a pleasant experience.

Regular Eye Test

I visited Boots opticians for my regular eye test and am very pleased with the service at the Trowbridge shop.

I was well looked after by Sarah, Bronwyn and Chloe right from welcoming me to my appointment, having my eyes tested and choosing new spectacles. They were all friendly and helpful.

My eye test was carried out very well. To be told my sight had not changed much since my last test, I did not feel pressured into purchasing new glasses which is reassuring good due to the costs involved.

A perfect expereience

Very helpful and friendly staff, very thorough examination followed by eye care advice. I am totally satisfied with the service provided. My only reservation is that Boots' central data base is unreliable, sending me reminders to make a booking when one was already made, or mentioning a cost for which I was not liable.

Excellent care and so friendly

My husband needed an emergency eye examination but was unable to get an appointment at our usual branch. We could however make a booking online at Leek and turned upon the Saturday morning. Unfortunately they had been trying to ring us to say the appointment would not be long enough but they could get us in that afternoon. They were genuinely apologetic despite it being my fault they couldn't contact us! When we did get there they were friendly, professional and carried out several tests before seeing the opthalmologist. She was excellent! Her examination of the eye was very thorough, she carried out extra tests to compare with previous readings and gave her findings clearly, in an easy to understand manner reassuring us that it was safe to wait for an appointment with his regular consultant the following week.
All the staff were excellent throughout the appointment and so friendly that we may swap branches!

Personal attention & super friendly

Personal attention & super friendly, in a quiet & caring setting. We like the fact that the staff are only dealing with you & not a queue of other people.
All the staff are super helpful in finding the right glasses that fit well & siute you. Large selection of glasses to choose from.
No trying to push you into buying coatings or other glasses related products.

The Primary Eyecare Acute Referral Scheme (PEARS)

A PEARS appointment yesterday reassured me that there is nothing seriously wrong with my eyes other than natural ageing. The optician/optometrist Amar at the Fargate Sheffield branch was kind and helpful. I was able to book an appointment within 24 hours of noticing symptoms rather than waiting for a GP appointment. The scheme is NHS-funded but saves the NHS money and should be better known.

Misleading information- waste of time

I booked what was advertised on the Boots Opticians website as a free contact lens assessment and trial at the Hounslow store using my valid glasses prescription.

I travelled to the branch, waited to be seen and was suddenly told by the optometrist that I would have to pay £50 simply because I’d worn contact lenses in the past. This exclusion was never made clear when I booked. A page on the Boots website specifically states that the free trial is for people where “it’s been a while since you last wore contacts” – exactly my situation.

Very disappointing experience, a complete waste of my time and misleading customer information. I had intended to become a regular customer, but after this experience I will be taking my business elsewhere.

EDIT - Boots have responded below, asking me to email them. I have emailed them and received no response.
