Derek is a lovely driver
Derek is a lovely driver, he offered to carry my items inside for me because i was alone and they were very heavy! He even stayed for a moment to check i could do it myself! Items arrived very well!

Only 1 of 2 packages delivered (half of bed) poor communication
I ordered a double ottoman bed frame on the 5th July 2026 to be delivered by the 8th at the latest. Tracking said delivery would be between 8am and 6pm on the 7th, waited in, no delivery. Each day for the next 5 days I was again told it would be delivered.After 5 days staying in, half of the bed was eventually delivered. I informed them of the missing package on the 11th. Numerous emails later with no explanation or resolution I gave up and asked for a refund. Photos of package sent on 20th and still no pick up arranged or refund 3 working days later. Customer service have been totally unhelpful. Emails feel automated / AI generated.
29/7/26. Thank you for response to review Birlea, please respond to my messages on Birlea tracking asking for updates on collection. I am still awaiting a response or collection date and refund.

We sincerely apologise for the repeated delivery delays, the missing package and the frustration caused by the lack of resolution. This is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide. We will ensure your comments are shared with our transport team so they can investigate what happened, as this is not the standard we expect from our delivery service.
We're also sorry to hear that you felt let down by our customer service throughout the process. We understand how disappointing this must have been, particularly after waiting in on multiple occasions and then experiencing further delays with your refund.
If this matter has not yet been resolved, please contact us directly with your order details so we can investigate this further and work towards a resolution as quickly as possible.

Birlea and Homebase conspired to…
Birlea and Homebase conspired to deliver a bed I ordered but then CANCELLED at the end of June. The cancellation was confirmed by Homesbase and I was refunded to Paypal, but they still managed to deliver the bed. To make things worse they delivered it to my OLD ADDRESS, where I no longer live! The mess-up of all errors. Now I've got to mess about trying to organise collection of that bed from my old house, incredibly inconvenient for me and the new owner of that house who now has to store a bed which is not even theirs!! Absolutely unbelieveable. Now fair enough this is ultimately Homebase's fault but Birlea are equally to blame if their combined systems messed this up. Homebase also don't have a contact number, which just delays things further

Excellent delivery service
Excellent delivery service. Derek was on time, efficient and nice to speak to. He did not rush the delivery like most places do these days. Birlea arranged the delivery in advance which was helpful. Only suggestion is that the text sent by Birlea to confirm delivery reads as a bit of a scam when they say you ‘must’ click on a link. I only realised it wasn’t one because there was a corresponding email.

Brilliant delivery staff. Terrible communication policy.
The delivery woman. She did everything right, was very patient with me and explained very clearly and jovially what was happening, despite my initial, overly suspicious approach to her. I had ignored the terrible delivery email because it contained all the warning signs of a scam: no reference to what I’d bought or from who, just “regarding your order…. Click this suspicious link to someone you’ve never heard of”.
