DO NOT HIRE from this despicable company. Aca rent, near Corfu airport.
They advertise on airport car hire. They are not. Arrived and was supposed to be met at the airport. Nobody there. The company phone number unobtainable. Managed to find a number on an email and was told to wait at the front of arrivals.
Ten minutes later a battered car arrived and we had to speedily put our bags in, and drive to the OFF airport car lot to pick up the rental.
I was told BY the driver that the company are not permitted to pick up at the airport,as they would be charged additional fees.
We waited at the car rental site for a considerable time and was served by a surly woman who eventually gave the keys to the car.
The car was nearly new and I was told to take a video of the car for any damage. There were scratches on the front bumper which I recorded but there was no other visible damage.
The car was hired with under half a tank of fuel and I was informed to bring it back the same. Should be full to full.
On returning the car a week later, another surly female employee asked if I had videoed the car. She then proceeded to check over the car for at least ten minutes for any marks or damage. She manually felt beneath the bumpers and sills hoping to find damage or scratches. She was actively looking to find the slightest blemish that I hadn’t recorded in order to keep my deposit.
She rubbed out insect splats hoping to find the smallest of marks that wouldn’t have shown up on a recording.
Finally after much searching she pointed out a minuscule stone chip less than one millimetre in diameter at the bottom edge of the drivers door and excitedly informed me that the chip was recent damage and as such, I would have to pay 550 euros, unless I could provide video evidence it was there on hire.
Because I had not taken out their insurance at an exorbitant price, 30 euros a day, and which they obviously receive commission for, she was actively seeking to keep my deposit ….scamming me.
I refused to accept that the pin prick, paint loss , was damage and demanded to speak to the manager. Only after I informed her that I would involve the police, she Reluctantly contacted someone by phone ,
Not speaking Greek, I did not understand what was said.
After the phone call I was told that the manager had stated it was recent damage, but I would not need to pay.
I suspect the possible involvement of police and my refusal to accept any damage had an effect on the managers decision.
The scam is …if you do not take out their additional excess insurance, they will find the slightest mark and suggest it recent to keep your deposit.
Incidently I had taken out suitable excess cover in the UK,but I refused for the insurance company to be coned.
This is a despicable company with calculated, dishonest employees, actively scamming their customers.
DO NOT HIRE FROM ACA RENT.

Worst experience of renting in Palermo (Sicily) , upon arrival the man with glasses at the desk was disrespectful and scammed us into getting a new booking done as we were 20minutes late , he then lied and claimed there were no smaller vehicles available and forced us to get a SUV , he completely disregarded the fact my wife was pregnant and took advantage of us as we desperately needed a car , this employee needs to be fired at best , very condescending behaviour . Stay away from the Cinisi branch at all cost SCAM SCAM SCAM

Esperienza estremamente negativa Acarent Chania a Creta.
Al momento del ritiro dell’auto ci è stata proposta con molta insistenza un’assicurazione aggiuntiva che avrebbe praticamente raddoppiato il costo del noleggio. Abbiamo rifiutato e ci è stato chiesto di fotografare accuratamente tutti i danni presenti sull’auto, a mezzanotte, al buio e con la vettura sporca, perché al rientro sarebbero stati verificati eventuali nuovi graffi.
Alla riconsegna ci sono stati contestati alcuni graffi che, secondo loro, non risultavano registrati. Fortunatamente avevamo fotografato l’auto al momento del ritiro e le immagini dimostravano che quei segni erano già presenti.
Inoltre, un operatore ha sostenuto che avessimo percorso una strada off-road in una località che non abbiamo mai visitato. Solo dopo le nostre proteste e dopo aver detto che ci saremmo rivolti a un avvocato è intervenuto un altro operatore, il quale ha ammesso che il tracciamento GPS mostrato apparteneva a un’altra Peugeot e si è anche ricordato che il graffio contestato era già presente al momento della consegna.
Se non avessimo avuto le fotografie, probabilmente ci sarebbero stati addebitati alcune centinaia di euro per danni non causati da noi. Per questo motivo sconsiglio a chiunque questa compagnia.

Una stella è troppo. Pessima esperienza con autonoleggio Acarent di Corfù, prenotazione tramite Do You Italy. Al check in cercano in tutti i modi di propormi una loro polizza ma comunque cara , con franchigia di € 300 e diverse scoperture. Ritiro l'auto in tarda serata, al buio, nel loro contratto non evidenziano alcun danno ma da una prima ispezione noto diversi danni leggeri. Mi invitano a girare un video (al buio!!), al rientro cercano di addebbitarmi i danni citati, me li scanso tutti (grazie al video) tranne uno impercettibile (meno di un centimetro), sul paraurti tra l'altro danneggiato anche in altri punti come da video in mio possesso. Purtroppo tale danno di così bassa entità che con la scarsa luce non sono riuscito a riprenderlo nel video. Addebito franchigia € 625! Ho capito che è una politica a basso costo di noleggio per poi aggiustare il prezzo per benino. Scappate!!

Esperienza pessima – dei very furfanti attenzione ai costi nascosti
Ho avuto un’esperienza davvero negativa con questo rent a car a Palermo. Al momento del ritiro, l’auto presentava già diversi segni, molti dei quali non erano stati segnalati correttamente nel contratto.
Il personale si è dimostrato poco disponibile e per nulla collaborativo quando ho fatto notare questi problemi. Nessuna attenzione al cliente né volontà di chiarire la situazione.
Il peggio è arrivato alla riconsegna: mi sono stati addebitati oltre 1000 euro per due graffi che, secondo le loro foto, non erano presenti alla consegna. In più mi hanno fatto pagare 15€ per il lavaggio dell’auto.
Peccato che le condizioni del veicolo non fossero state documentate in modo trasparente all’inizio. Mi è sembrato un comportamento scorretto e poco professionale, anche perché sono convinto che quelle riparazioni non verranno nemmeno effettuate.
Esperienza complessivamente molto negativa: poca trasparenza, servizio scadente e rischio concreto di addebiti ingiustificati. Sconsiglio vivamente.

I travel a lot and rent cars all the time but this was the worst experience.

On the day of picking up the car they have claimed that the vehicle must only be used on the asphalt roads otherwise I will be charged €3000 and any additional damages up to €2000 that may cause, in Albania roads are mainly no asphalt. There were no previous notifications about this and make me more worried.

On the day of the return they claimed that there were scratches even the car was dirty and start to scratch on a dirty car even more. There was no visible scratches at all, still charged me €550 for the damage I have made.
They wasted my time and I nearly missed my flight as they were just saying I made scratch but no documents they wanted to complete so I could leave.

As I had cover from the external company they refused at first to provide me the full report of the damage and any charges they have made to my card thanks to the AcaRent in Italy they have helped me to get my documents and full report.

I don’t recommend this company for rental in Tirana, the service was terrible at the time of picking up the car and returning, not feeling welcomed but felt like I am borrowing vehicle and they claiming I make a potential damage.

Un’esperienza penosa.
Avevo prenotato la macchina dalle 8.30, poiché arrivavo all’aeroporto alle ore 8.
Ho scritto un messaggio per essere venuta a prendere, non mi hanno risposto per mezz’ora e poi alle 8.50 si sono presentati e mi hanno portato al loro ufficio alle ore 9.05.
Il personale all’accoglienza lo definirei:

MALEDUCATO
CAFONE
Dovrebbe cambiare lavoro.
Ci ha fatto dei problemi e poi quando io ho chiesto di rimborsare il tempo per cui non avevo usufruito la macchina si è rifiutato di darmela e mi ha lasciato a piedi.
Inconcepibile.

Avevo prenotato una auto categoria economica (opel corsa o simile) e mi volevano rifilare una fiat tipo station wagon (che non è neanche più in produzione oltreché ingombrante) o peggio ancora una panda vecchia e sporca. Nessuna altra alternativa. Mi sono rifiutato.

À mon arrivée pour récupérer le véhicule l’agente très désagréable a tenu absolument à me vendre des assurances (nettoyage véhicule 50e j’ai dit que c’est nous qui le ferons , panne sur l’autoroute, 2e conducteur etc etc etc….).
Un échange houleux s’est tenu.
J’ai l’habitude de louer et les assurances sont incluses avec ma carte.

De retour pour restituer le véhicule, un homme se dirige vers nous (il est 19h il fait nuit), la 1ere chose qu’il demande si nous avons nettoyé le véhicule ce à quoi j’ai dit oui que nous l’avions fait la veille au soir.
Il a dit que le véhicule n’était pas propre et l’échange s’est envenimé car j’ai tenu tête et ça ne lui a pas plu.

Il m’a dit que si je ne signais pas il me prélèverait les 950 euros d’acompte.
Il m’a facturé 61 euros et non 50 comme annoncé.
J’ai déposé un recours auprès de BSP.

JE DÉCONSEILLE FORTEMENT ACARENT AIRPORT BARI.

Brindisi. Voiture réservée pour 9h. Pas de voiture disponible avant 10h. Il est 9h32, j’attends devant les bureaux. Je crains le pire…
Désolé, après vérification c’est une erreur. Acarent partage les bureaux d’une société concurrente mais seul le nom d’Acarent apparaît sur la devanture. mon avis concernait cette société, le retour à été d’ailleurs encore pire

I rented a car from Acarent near Corfu Airport, who also trade as Sigma Car rentals. They are not based at the airport nor were they even there to meet us with a car. Worse than that Sigma/Acarent are a bunch of cheating scammers and tried to nick 550 euros from me for a spurious damage claim as we went to drop it off. They know you are in a hurry to catch a flight so you have no time to argue

Agence qui ne répond pas aux appels...
Jai loué en juillet une voiture par l'intermediaire de discovercars, arrivé à Rome le service de navette me dit qu ils ne travaillent plus avec eux.

J'essaye plusieurs fois de contacter directement Acarent qui ne répond pas...résultat j'ai du louer un autre vehicule en urgence à un tarif bien plus élevé.

We were late for pick-up by 20 minutes, as our flight was delayed. By the time we got to the pick-up point our car booking was already cancelled.

I trusted Aca Rent as an international brand, but after my terrible experience with their Tirana Airport branch and the way the head office in Italy handled my complaint, I must strongly warn others: do not rent with this company.

At Tirana airport we were scammed into paying €300 for a fake insurance, forced to drive with an expired car insurance (I have photos as proof), and threatened with violence when we returned the car. The employee even tore up our signed contract and shouted “I will kill you.” Luckily we recorded the discussion, so we still have evidence.

But what is even more shocking is the response from Aca Rent Italy. Instead of investigating, they simply forwarded me the version of the very same people who scammed and threatened us, ignoring completely the most serious parts of my complaint: the expired insurance, the missing Green Card, the fake extra charges, the intimidation and the death threats. This shows that the parent company is not willing to take responsibility for the behavior of its franchisees, leaving customers completely unprotected.

Renting with Aca Rent means taking a huge risk, not only because of the abusive practices of their branches, but also because the head office refuses to stand behind the customer. If you care about your safety and your rights, avoid Aca Rent everywhere.

They scammed us from Corfu Airport branch and looking at other reviews , many others have had the same happen. They refused to help although i think it is one of their franchises but assume still have some responsibilities from their Italy HQ. DO NOT USE - FIRST TIME SCAMMED FOR FAKE DAMAGE EVER WHICH NEVER HAPPENED. BLACKMAILED TO SIGN FOR DAMAGE OTHERWISE WOULD HOLD 1200 EURO DEPOSIT. THEY HAVE EVEN DISPUTED THE REVIEW BUT IT SEEMS LIKE THEY HAVE VERY POOR REVIEWS WHETHER ITS A FRANCHISE OR NOT

Auto consegnata 3 ore dopo mi hanno chiesto 10 € in più per il lavaggio che da contratto non l'ho letto da nessuna parte in più pretendevano di farmi pagare 290 di assicurazione quando io avevo già speso 98€ online nel momento in cui l'ho prenotata. Mi hanno consegnato una Ford Fiesta che neanche il peggior noleggiatore di Caracas mi avrebbe dato.Ne ho noleggiate di auto nella mia vita ma questo sicuramente lo metto al primo posto come peggiore

We hired a car for a good price from Chania acarent. After a few days we had a concern about small issues with the car (it was still driving and was still safe) So we contacted the office in Chania and the lady was very helpful and went as far as providing us with a new car with a quick and convenient turn around.
