Yes Getaways - friendly and helpful so far
Yes Getaways has been very friendly and helpful during the booking process. I was able to communicate certain booking preferences and they were handled the way i requested. I've called back a time or two with questions regarding travel insurance and baggage and they've referred me to the provider. Not unexpected- they're a travel agency after all. Since this is our first time using them, I am hopeful all goes to plan.

The deals always look good until you…
The deals always look good until you make the phone call and then the cost seems to go up and you don't get what you think you wanted. The airplane flights are very long and not direct and you get no services and it's very hard to communicate to find out where to meet when we have excursions it would be easier to be picked up in your hotel and not have to travel someplace else

Well located hotels. Excellent day trips.
There were a lot of things that made this vacation a really good value for the money, my favorite thing was that the hotels though simple were located in really excellent locations that allowed us to walk to many of the things we wanted to see. In many ways, I would like to get five stars, but there were a few things That could use improvement. First, we booked at a certain price and then within a day or two the price dropped by $300 and the company would not allow us to rebook at the lower price. They did give us a couple of dry trips to compensate which I really appreciate. The day trips were excellent. But overall I would have preferred to be able to book at the lower price. It was also wonderful in a way that the package included transfers from the airport, but the method of communication with the transport company, and or driver was very tenuous, and it caused quite a bit of unnecessary anxiety when our first driver was late, picking us up, and when we were unable to confirm our Second driver because of a glitch in their website and because the transport company closed early on a Saturday. Ultimately I think I would’ve preferred a package without transfers just so that I could handle the transfers myself without relying on people I could not communicate with. All in all, though I would absolutely use this tour company again. And I do appreciate the speed and courtesy with which they responded to my questions via email before the trip.

Everything came off without a hitch
Everything came off without a hitch. I purchased a 3-city tour of Europe with three nights in Budapest, 3 nights in Vienna and three nights in Prague. This trip included round trip flights from Boston, nine nights of hotels (with breakfast included) and train tickets between cities. All for $1,100 (would have been less if I didn't have to pay a single supplement). The hotels were nice and very clean and were in good, safe locations.
Budapest was classic and very walk able. I strolled along the Danube, explored the Cave Chapel and the Central Market. Many delicious meals were had.
Next stop, Vienna. Hey, like Billy Joel sang, Vienna waits for you. It's a lot bigger than I realized, but between Uber and public transit, getting around was not difficult. If you're a fan of great architecture, then Vienna is the place! Get yourself to central area and it's walk able. Every corner you turn reveals ornate beauty. I spent some time at the Casino Wein and walked out 330 euros richer. Wunderbar! Dined on some Viennese classic cuisine. It's a law that you have to have Weinerschnitzel at least once in Vienna.
There was a small restaurant near my hotel called Sip Song which offers Asian fare and exotic cocktails. I chatted with the owners who were a Swedish gentleman and a Thai lady. The bartenders were Anna from Montana, Alexandra from England and Pearl from Poland. I recommend.
Prague is one of those places where once you visit you'll say to yourself -- "I could live here." Easy to get around and the food was to die for! I dined at one restaurant (Mimosa) twice. They offer Czech and Italian. The first night I had the pork knee. If you like ham and pork belly then this dish is for you. The next night I did Italian and had authentic spaghetti carbonara. There's a place on the Vltava river called Botel Matylda (on a boat) where I had the best veal osso bucco.
I went to two jazz clubs and enjoyed the bands. I had the serendipitous joy of attending a classical concert at the Mirror Chapel.
The price of my journey was a great value. It was my first time traveling by train in Europe and that was a relaxing experience.
