I am just starting Yabla and traveling in Italy. I like the variety and the way you can stop and start the videos. I wish I had more time. On a phone sometimes it is hard to push exactly the right spot, but overall the idea and interface are good.

I find Yabla an excellent way to learn Italian. I enjoy doing the lessons and videos. I like the challenge it gives me.

I really look forward to every Yabla email I receive. Each time I read one I learn something new. It would be very difficult to pick out one or two of my genuine experiences, I can sum up in four words my feeling for
Yabla, " I Love You, Yabla!"

I think the Yabla app is well designed and pretty useful.
I like the 'loop' & 'skip' feature.
But what I really need is an app that will help me learn the 10,000 most common Mandarin words and an app that can keep track of how many words I have learned.

Here's and idea for an app that could help people learn the 10,000 most common words
You have many different environments you can go to and each environment has object to help you learn vocabulary.
1.  images of objects e.g. toaster, a kid bouncing a ball, a frog jumping etc.
2. they are in environments e.g. kitchen, playground, living room, baseball game, bathroom, bedroom, garden, factory, gas station, etc

Maybe there are several modes: (user can switch back and forth between the 3 modes easily)
 mode 1: The user points at an object and its name is pronounced and
spelled (pinyin & chinese character) appear
mode 2: system says the name of the object and user points at the
object - system gives feedback.
mode 3: User says the name of an object into the microphone and
item is highlighted if said correctly

noun objects would be the easiest
adjective objects:  hot (person sweating), tall (tall basketball player)
Verb objects - show some actioin

Or objects could be more complex.
adj-noun fat cat, tall boy, handsome man, oval glasses, 
verb-noun: cut down tree, open door, break window, fasten seat belt
adverb-verb-noun: slowly open the door, quickly jump in the car
adverb-verb--adj-noun: he quietly picked up the ball

You could show a number that shows how many of the 10,000 words you have mastered so far e.g. your score
And you show the names & numbers for others so it is a little competitive
I think competition does help motivate people.

Yabla is great. I can study vocab before I watch video then it gets reinforced when I watch it. Games are also good for learning in multiple ways. Email lessons emphasize certain idioms seen in videos. Videos are in just right chunks for studying. So glad I found Yabla to up my level of Italian

I am enjoying Yabla. It is good to hear the videos naturaly and then study the vocabulary in different ways. I am still finding it hard to find my way around the site. I think this because there is no set progress through a course, you can choose videos of different grades and study them but there is no pressure to progress and no set route to progress. This may be deemotivating to some people but so far I am finding it inyeresting to hear natural Spanish

Yabla is the best online course I've found for learning conversational and idiomatic French, and for preparing yourself for a trip to France. I would like to add that some facility with the language already is very helpful. The videos are relatively short and are professionally made. Many are entertaining. Many provide an education, not just in the language, but in the history, culture, architecture and geography of this beautiful country.

The only problem that I have with YABLA is that I don't have enough time to take full advantage of this incredible learning system! There is literally enough here to keep you ocupied full time!!!

Have found it very helpful so far. Interface feels a little dated, but that's not what's most important to me. I've used Duolingo over a year and have learned a lot, but I feel it does little to improve listening comprehension. Watching videos of people speaking with their natural dialects is a game-changer, ESPECIALLY the Scribe function, which I find the most helpful language-learning tool I've used.

I like Yabla. It I a good way to supplement my study of Spanish!

I'm enjoying enjoying the videos and vocabulary building exercises on Yabla. The videos are well-paced and interesting, and the exercises reinforce language skills. The app doesn't work great for the Scroll feature, but it works great on the laptop. I find myself slowing gaining recognition skills through listening, especially because you can use the repeat functions to reinforce what you hear while reading the words and translation. I find myself looking forward to using Yabla each day.

Yabla has been my primary 'go to' resource in my self-designed study program since 2013. I've seen Yabla mature significantly since then, and I believe it has become the most comprehensive app of it's kind and that's why I stay with it. It's best used by high beginner learners and above. Motivated beginners can find a benefit using Yabla, but it seems to be better when the learner has a basic vocabulary in their target language. Like all learning apps and programs, there is a 'how to use' learning curve and the basic Yabla is easy to figure out. Some of the other features are not as obviously found as the videos and can be missed. That said, the many other aspects are what make Yabla so comprehensive. It’s the best Spanish resource to be included in a self-study program and it continuously improves with new features and learning activities.

The catalog of videos is extensive and varied. It's really helpful to be able to slow the speed of the video at times. The exercises are good practice. I really like that the French and English texts are both visible at the same time. That's very helpful.

Yabla is great, really helpful. In Spanish, it would be helpful if there were more films in Spanish from Spain. What I find annoying is that you can't switch between languages, so if you are learning two languages, you not only have to pay twice, but you keep having to log out and log in again.

Great but needs more transcribing of the show Extr@ !

I love the program. I should move to Italy so I'd have people to speak Italian with; would help.

I really like this way of practicing my Spanish! I do wish that u could filter the lessons also by country since I'm living in Colombia.

I like the bookmark feature very much. Price is reasonable for all the content that is available. The rating system is pretty accurate, too. Can't think of any negatives.

I find that the overall concept of Yabla is excellent, providing a great deal of spoken Spanish and a very comprehensive variety of vocabulary. It is probably because I am very old that I find using Yabla confusing. I know my way round the controls but I'm not as quick-thinking or dexterous as I once was. I sometimes find the continuity between videos a bit difficult, but this is probably my fault. I would like more videos in European Spanish and more interactive lessons in grammar and idioms.
