It is not quite easy to learn. For Europeans, the 4 different sounds plus the neutral pronunciation are very difficult to keep apart.

I like the app and great selection of videos. The only think I don’t like is that when I use the slow play feature the sounds gets distorted, so it ends up being hard to understand the words and thus it defeats the purpose.

I love YABLA and looked forward to using it in my middle school classes this afternoon . Unfortunately, the classes today were a bit unfocused and I did not want to reward their behavior with a "fun" activity.

I was concerned about a double charge for my six-month yabla purchase. The second “pending” charge was removed from my BofA account.

For foreign language learners, in my view, Yabla's multiple and multiple kinds of videos from native speakers fill the gap between the usual grammar/vocab courses - such as are usually taught in Anglophone schools/univs etc - and real live German radio/television/films etc. Even with the best of grammar course, this gap is too wide to bridge without some intensive work with material and exercises of the kind offered by Yabla - in fact I don't know of any alternative for this particular stage of language learning.

I really like this program because it uses alot of little prompts to jog my feeble memory. I like the cartoons too but i wish it was also able to give you song lyrics and bible verses as well. The customer support is the most responsive i have ever encountered. It was nearly impossible to talk to anyone at that famous free language App with the bird and they wouldn’t let me unsubscribe. In the end when I canceled my account at Chase the Spanish App sent me an email saying that i owed them money or something like that. Only THEN did they recognize my existence.

You don't make corrections to obvious mistakes. I can't recall the date of the experience.

Used Yabla several years ago, canceled, tried several others and now am happily back to Yabla. I am intermediate level but wanted to improve my listening skills and now am making great progress watching videos I enjoy.

Yabla is a great tool for learning to develop an ear for languages. I love the scribe tool. I use it every day.

“mi pare” or “quanto mi pare” are also quite common, I think ? ?

Yabla is a great resource for those who are at least a low level intermediate in Chinese. It is not good for beginners. I find the videos great for improving my listening comprehension and vocabulary. New vocabulary can be added to the dictionary so that you can review words, and the games associated with new vocabulary are engaging. I enjoy hearing Chinese as it is actually spoken.

I simply wanted to sign up for another year. I do want to tell you that there are people like me (who do not feel comfortable with automatic renewals), and cancel subscription right afterward. They then have to sign up all over again. It would be better if you provide an option that "reminds" people that their subscription will soon run out. That way, they can renew BEFORE the subscription expires.

Yabla is great! Simple concept and, thank God, the conceptors did not try to overcomplicate it for marketing purposes. It's a straightforward product and it helps. I think their Chinese section lacks beginner level content, so that may need to be addressed, but their Spanish section really is terrific. I hope they keep updating it, especially with Carlos Explica. There is one more thing I would like to see from Yabla: streams. One of their (indirect) competitors is Hello Talk (of which I'm a member). Without dragging out the details, my advice to the Yabla team is to follow some of their direction, because they are evolving really quite nicely and I think there's a lot to learn from their business model (check it out and stay in it). It comes down to engagement, little else.

Overall Yabla is a really unique, very simple, very useful idea that was executed well. It just needs a bit more of a modern touch. Keep it up Yabla Team!

I just came back to Yabla after an absence of a couple of years. I really like the site. It is loaded with content (the videos) and tools and techniques for improving my Spanish. I now need to develop a bit of structure/process in how best to use the site. It is a bit overwhelming at first but I think that it's just a question of practice, getting used to it and using the site on a regular basis. I do like the multimedia approach with the various games and exercises. So far so good. Gracias.

Seems really well and as far as what I know you are the only ones offering this type of content... Bravo!
Here I put "Seems", because I've been using Yabla only for like 4 weeks.
But I already feel some progress in my oral understanding, so 4 stars.
Come back in 6 months to get the fifth one, if I can understand about anybody :D
