This is a scam
This is a scam. I told them I did not want a membership and to not bill my account. They have repeatedly tried to bill my credit card for outrageous amounts that were not anything like what I was told during the call. I called my credit card to tell them that they are not authorized to make charges on my account, but they continually try to push charges through. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER. I cancelled the credit card and got a new one. They found the number on the web, and continue to try to bill it. Do not deal with these scammers.
They have a BBB rating of "F"
They have a BBB rating of "F". That should tell you all you need to know.
The WWA smells like a scam!
Some of the comments I read here confirmed my suspicion that this is a scam. They contacted me on my mobile after I indicated my interest on their website ( I believe I saw on LinkedIn) to "interview" and screen me for eligibility. They then proceed to request for my credit card details to be provided over the phone. I thought this was fishy and insisted they provided me a legit invoice instead so I can do a reimbursement from my company. I was firm and told them that I'll never give out my credit card details over the phone, and so will not be paying for the membership. The emails kept coming thereafter to remind me to pay up. Safe to say, I'll be unsubscribing from their their list.
Beware of Worldwide Women's Association - Potential Scam Alert!
I recently signed up to join the Worldwide Women's Association seeking to network as a relocated entrepreneur in Canada. However, my experience took a concerning turn. After a quick interview, I was swiftly accepted but then asked for an immediate $299 lifetime membership fee, insisting on my credit card details. When I declined and suggested a prepaid card instead, I faced persistent and aggressive calls, totalling 17, from various numbers, which I found highly inappropriate and alarming. Consequently, I've come to the conclusion that the Worldwide Women's Association may not be a legitimate organization, and I strongly caution against involvement due to these concerning experiences.
Straightforward membership with solid…
Straightforward membership with solid networking benefits, though lacking in additional features. The affordability is a definite positive aspect.
32 Robo-Call Solicitations in a 5-hour period!
I signed up to receive further membership information because it sounded like an interesting network organization. They have now been calling my cell phone exactly 32 times per day from different numbers and multiple area codes! They don't leave messages. With all the SPAM call activity already during the holidays this is beyond ridiculously excessive and intrusive! I called the main '718' number listed on their site, spoke to a live person and told them to immediately remove me from their contact files and robo-call list... still received 4 more as of this morning. I keep blocking each of their #'s as they come in. If it continues I will be contacting the BBB to report them.
DO NOT sign up, they are scammers!
I signed up 3 years ago when I was setting up my business. I paid for a ‘lifetime’ membership.
Soon after they started trying to take other payments. I asked what for and they were add ins for setting up my profile, etc.
I told them I didn’t want to pay anything else so they said they’d make a note and stop future payments.
That was 3 years ago.
The last 3 months they have been trying to take money from my personal bank account (I didn’t have a business one set up at the time I joined). Each time it’s a different amount ranging from £250 - £400.
Luckily, each time they’ve tried to take money I didn’t quite have enough money in that account to cover it and I contacted my bank to advise these payments are not authorised.
I’ve tried emailing them to tell them to stop trying to take money from my account and that this is fraud.
No responses to emails and they have tried to take another payment again.
Just been on the phone to my bank again and they have now flagged up that payment are not authorised and they will start an investigation into this company and flag them up as fraudulent.
DO NOT sign up with them. They are scammers and once they’ve got your bank details they will keep trying to take payments you haven’t authorised.
Unnecessary added charges
I joined this organisation for an agreed amount of $199 as they offered a website and networking opportunities with other professionals. A few months later, I discover that they have charged $500 twice to my credit card without informing me in advance. They ignore my emails completely so I have no idea what these charges are for, nor did I agree to them.
This company is a scam
This company is a scam. I signed up in October, no communication since; today, they tried charging my card $499 for some “media kit”. I declined the charge on my bank’s end, reported it as fraud, emailed the WWA and asked for someone to call me immediately. I’ve sent 4 emails total, asking for someone to call, and instead they just cancel the charge. I’ve tried calling the number, but it’s a looped recorded message with no way of speaking to someone. Do not sign up for this account.
I am really grateful reading these…
I am really grateful reading these reviews, I am sure this company has things to offer however one of the things that really struck me was how much you were being pressured to handover money right then and there. And was told that I would receive a special discount if I use a MasterCard and to hear some of these horror stories of getting this discount and being charged almost $500.04 weeks later is disgusting and seems a really slimy way to do business. No thanks and it’s a shame because I’m sure there’s women out there who could benefit from something like this as a new business owner. I mean we are living in hard times. We are obviously signing up because we need to do a little bit better or could do a little bit better and to hear some of these stories about being charged all this money just makes me feel like there’s something really underhanded going on there, thanks for what you do for us women!
Whew! Dodged a Bullet!
Whew! Apparently I dodged a HUGE bullet! I received an email from WWA organization saying they were following up on the application I submitted and the phone call I had with one of their membership coordinators. They said I did not complete the enrollment process and offered me a $100 discount for signing up through a link in the email. RED FLAG #1: I NEVER completed an application for this org (I never even heard of WWA before the email), #2: I NEVER spoke to one of their coordinators. Also, as I know about all the scammers that are out there I was very suspicous and of course didn't click any links in that email. I decided to google WWA and IMMEDIATELY saw the bad reviews about WWA here on Trustpilot! I'm so grateful for all the honest reviews on here. It reinforced my "gut feeling" to not click those links and to just delete the email. BEWARE EVERYONE!
My credit was charged a second without…
My credit was charged a second time without my authorization. This organization has not provided any value and I didn't even get any sort of email confirmation about the membership. Beware!
the reviews are probably right
reminds me of those honor societies that tell you you are inducted for after high school and college. and they some how find your contact info.
think i found where that 499.99 charge people see is coming from. they prob aren't getting it form you 99/299 fee!
"
immediately upon your registration, acknowledgement and acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, WWA will automatically complete your initial membership profile on our database so you will start receiving the benefits of your membership without delay. At the same time, WWA automatically enrolls you in the ancillary benefits through our business partners and pays for your enrollment up-front. WWA’s membership sales are final, as is discussed below.
"
the refund policy is pretty bold too:
Our cancellation policy states there is a non-refundable 20% processing fee which will automatically be retained on any cancellation that occurs within 24 hours of any sale. All program sales after 48 hours are final and no refunds will be issued for our service and all accompanying personalized products.
as for what seem public facing is not much different than linkedin which you can get for free.
heres what sounds like ADD-ON packs you pay for after initial enrollement:
Paid Membership – Enhanced Benefits: Experience has shown that WWA members reap benefits in proportion to the degree of commitment and active participation they give to their membership. To maximize our members’ opportunities, WWA has developed tiers of Services which maximize member participation. Enhanced Benefits include: seminars, speaking opportunities, full search capability of our professional online networking database, continuing and professional education, and much more, which are offered to paid members at several different membership tiers.
so its ALL IN THERE if you read the fine print. "devil is in (always) in the details"
I want to thank everyone for their…
I want to thank everyone for their honest reviews, I feel that I have dodged a bullet. As a struggling SBO I am unbelievably tired of the repeated emails urging me to sign up.
Also, since my phone interview, I have received so many daily phone calls where the caller will not respond back when I answer the call which is extremely frustrating to say the least and at other times all I hear is office noise in the background.
While my initial call started off very courteous and respectful it became a high-pressure sales call with no explanation of "real benefits", only vague promises with repeated requests for payment even though I had explained that it was undoable at this time and ANY time in the near future.
It looks like a scam
It looks like a scam. Someone called in today to discuss about membership. Asked me a bunch of questions and and in about 5 minutes started pressuring me for payment. Told her send me the available options and I will pay after reviewing it. But was not ready to send. Kept insisting that I make the payment first and then if I want to change later it can be refunded etc. She can hold the line while I go through the options. Told her I am not comfortable and need my own time to go through. Email me the options and I will get back. She kept the phone. It's been 6 hours I still haven't received the options. So yeah, Definitely it's a scam.
BEWARE - WWA is a horrible Association
BEWARE - don't sign up!
This is a Scam. They fleece you for $299 to join up for life then try to charge you $500 more for press releases and other things - trying to charge it directly to your back account without permission. Thankfully my bank flagged it and I said no. When they call you, they are outright rude and aggressive. DO NOT SIGN UP.
Complete Scam - Unable to Cancel
This company is a complete scam. I've been trying to cancel my subscription since June. There is no-one to speak to, just an automated number that asks to you email.
I've emailed 4 times and filled in the contact form twice. As they requested a create card you cannot cancel (only get chargebacks) although they charge again. I've contacted the American trading standards. STAY CLEAR!!!!
BEWARE—THIS IS A SCAM
BEWARE—THIS IS A SCAM. This is the most unprofessional organization I’ve ever encountered. They must pay a lot for keywords and advertising because at first glance they look legit. After paying the $150 join fee, they tried to charge me $500 without authorization. Thankfully my bank flagged and blocked it. There is no way to speak to a human when you call, either—you have to submit an email, which is super suspect. There have been other bizarre things that have happened, like random strange phone calls where they say your name and then hang up. They’ve done absolutely nothing for me as far as networking. In their latest scam, they read off a card and told me they'd be putting my bio in some featured something or other. They kept rambling on and on about the benefits and since I am very busy, I asked them to cut to the chase and tell me the bottom line cost. They sounded offended and (I kid you not) raised their voice and yelled, "But I haven't told you all the benefits yet!!!" HUH? I told them to cancel my membership (which they probably haven't, or they will reply to this saying I never had a membership there, but I've got proof in writing). As I was saying this, the woman kept talking over me and reading off all the benefits I'd receive. It was truly bizarre. I can't believe I wasted $150 on this. Will be joining Chief instead - I guess you get what you pay for. Lesson learned. No idea why they are allowed to continue to do what they call "business". Save your money, time and frustration.
SCAM for sure!!!!!!!
I felt uneasy due to the number of scams out there. I read through most of the negative reviews and had the same experience. Yes, a woman called me saying if I use a Mastercard, then she would only charge me $250 for the lifetime membership. This may be a scam because, with this particular card, the bank will always notify me when they decline a charge; I never got the text. The other thing is that the woman pre-warned me that my card may deny charges from their company, and for me to put her on hold and go ahead and approve the charges from WWA, "red flag." Well, luck for me, the charge was declined. I canceled the card and had the bank send me a new card. I should have stuck to what I always do, NEVER GIVE OUT CC INFO OVER THE PHONE. I am a member of other professional organizations, and I am never harassed to join or renew yearly fees. Thank you to everyone who posted a review on this site.

In July 2023 I signed up for a five years membership and paid 99 USD. I only received on email after I paid for the membership, but on the 12th of September 2023 WWA charged me for 299,99 USD. I have not received any bill and neither a receipt for the paiment.
