I recently traveled to wonderful Peru for vacation with Vamos Expeditions. Annelies and her team did a wonderful job planning and delivering a wonderful private premium vacation for me as a solo traveler. Annelies arranged for me an amazing and excellent itinerary with an excellent transition of activities. I visited wonderful locations, and stayed is superb accommodations. Both Carmen and Alvaro provided excellent support throughout my trip with almost daily follow ups and checking with me that everything is going smoothly. The team helped with all logistics, transportations, internal flights and daily updates. The itinerary unfolded smoothly without any problems. The guides were amazing. Pablo and Fernando were my guides in Lima, they are very knowledgeable and took me to wonderful places including amazing neighborhoods, museums, water park with the evening light show, and the wonderful old city. We had delicious food, and this was true in Lima and other areas. In Arequipa and Colca canyon, Antonio was amazing , very enthusiastic about showing me the best of this region. We saw the Andean condor from very close view points, enjoyed local food, saw folklore dances , wild life, hikes, beautiful small villages, and wonderful friendly people. We had a wonderful driver and clean high-end car. In the sacred valley and Cusco my guide was Jaime. He is a knowledgeable, amazing and friendly guide. Jaime took me to wonderful places and helped with shopping and restaurants. We had many encounters with Lama and he was very knowledgeable with wildlife. Jaime was my guide on the Inca trail as well. Vamos arranged for me a 4D / 3N private luxury hike. The chef and porters spared no effort to make my hike comfortable and enjoyable, and safe. Jaime was amazing and professional. He knows nature, history, culture, and has a wonderful friendly personality, he loves Peru and he is a wonderful representation of his country. Peru is an amazing country , wonderful friendly people and culture, delicious variety of food, interesting history, breathtaking nature, nice cities and beautiful villages, and clearly well organized and established infrastructure for tourism. Vamos Expedition lead by Annelies put together once in a lifetime memorable premium 18 days vacation for me . A very professional team, I thank them for everything they did for me and I highly recommend them.

My friend and I just returned from the most wonderful two-week adventure in Peru. Every bit of it was planned and carried out by Vamos Expeditions. From the excellent guides to the charming hotels to the reliable drivers and well-balanced itinerary, we could not have asked for more.

Our journey included Machu Picchu, a portion of the Inca Trail, the Sacred Valley, Cusco, Lima, and a truly inspired (if oh-so-challenging!) five days of trekking around Ausangate. Breathtakingly beautiful and deeply moving, it was such a gift to be away from the noise of the world and to connect to the sacredness of the land with a guide who was willing and happy to go at our pace and to adjust plans as needed for our sea-level, older bodies, lol.

We are already dreaming of returning. And when we do we will certainly go with Vamos. A great company. They clearly care about their staff, their guests, the land, and even the animals they work with. Thank you, Vamos, for an unforgettable experience!

Far and beyond our expectations! Vamos created a beautiful two-week-long cultural and trekking adventure for us, making recommendations based on our needs, budget, interest and physical capacity. We did a 1-day Inca Trail trek, plus a full-day tour of Machu Picchu, three days in the Sacred Valley, a 5-day trek around Ausangate, and spent time in Cusco as well.

Vamos planned every step for us including fabulous local guides, drivers, hotels, domestic flights, and even arranged a good balance of free time, along with ideas for things to explore on our own.

Every guide was completely fluent in English, knowledgeable, personable, professional and delightful to be with. During our trip the Vamos team was always available for questions and quick to respond.

A special shout-out to co-owner Annelies Hammerlinck who was willing to spend time at the beginning to get to know us via Zoom so she could design our perfect trip for us. The whole team is clearly operating from a socially-responsible and heart-centered place.

One of the highlights was our Ausangate trek, with our amazing guide Jaime and a support team of four locals as chef, assistant chef and horsemen. It was a life-changing experience. We could tell that Vamos takes good care of their people, and that meant a great deal to us for our first trip to Peru. We plan on coming back!

Our experience with Vamos Expeditions was nothing short of exceptional! From start to finish, Annelies, Alvaro, and Carmen were incredibly responsive and attentive, always just a message away to help with anything we needed. The level of service and coordination throughout our journey was outstanding — the guides, drivers, hotels, and even surprise upgrades were all top-notch.

Our itinerary was quite complex, covering numerous flights, accommodations, and destinations across Peru, Bolivia, and the Amazon basin. Naturally, we expected a few hiccups, but there were only minor ones, and the Vamos team handled everything seamlessly. They even arranged a visit to a highly recommended dentist when I broke a tooth just five days into our 21-day trip — talk about going above and beyond!

Vamos was an excellent host and offered tour guides with endless knowledge and enthusiasm. Reservations (flight, hotels, transportation, museum tickets, meals) were made in advance, and we never had to worry about logistics. Just returned from a fantastic trip to Peru! When I had nothing but flights booked three weeks before we were due to depart, I reached out and was connected to Anneliese, explicitly asking for an animal/birding + history tour. We just want to say: wow. Our 24-day family adventure through Peru, organized by Vamos Expeditions, was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience—and we would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

From the moment we arrived in Peru to the very end of our journey, the level of guidance and personal attention was simply incredible. We never had to wait for anyone—there was always a friendly face from Vamos waiting for us, whether at a train station, hotel, or airport. Their organization is so seamless that everything felt effortless on our side.

The itinerary was tailor-made for our family (parents and three teenage boys, aged 14, 14, and 15) and struck the perfect balance between adventure, culture, and amazing food. We experienced white-water rafting in the mountains near Arequipa, mountain biking, kayaking on Lake Titicaca, sandboarding in the desert, and hiking through the jungle. We explored the ruins of Cusco, the magical Machu Picchu via a breathtaking train ride, and the fascinating culture around Lake Titicaca and the Amazon rainforest. And the food—absolutely delicious throughout the trip.

The hotels were carefully selected, and as a family of five, we appreciated that our rooms were always close together. Every detail was thought through, and it made traveling as a family smooth and enjoyable.

There were simply no downsides. The Vamos Expeditions team is perfectly coordinated: they give you space when you want it and are right there when you need them. Unlike large tour operators, they are incredibly flexible, warm, and personal in their approach.

Even months later, when we ask our kids about their favorite part, they don’t name just one—they rattle off a list:

– cruising along the stunning Pacific Highway
– trying out gold surfing in Lima

We traveled in July, which meant it was a bit cooler along the coast, but once inland, the weather was perfect—dry, sunny, and around 24°C during the day.

We just returned from a 15-day adventure in Peru that was organized by Vamos Expeditions. The process of developing our itinerary with Annelies was easy and we were able to make a few adjustments to accommodate our family. We ended up with a perfect balance of activities and downtime with everything booked in a way that made our travel seamless. Accommodations were wonderful, our guides were amazing, and the travel team was readily available when we needed support. Wij hebben al heel wat wereldreizen gemaakt in groep. Het was dan ook een beetje afwachten wat onze eerste individueel begeleide reis doorheen Peru ons zou brengen.
Via een kennis kwamen we in contact met Annelies Hamerlinck van Vamos Expeditions in Lima. Dank zij haar inbreng en ervaring maakten we in geen tijd een mooie planning die rekening hield met onze persoonlijke interesses en voorkeuren, budget en timing.
Half oktober vertrokken we dan vol verwachtingen richting Lima. De 30-daagse reis doorheen het prachtige Peru werd een fantastisch avontuur. Dank zij een prima, vaak persoonlijke begeleiding reisden we vlot van het ene hoogtepunt naar het andere: Lima, Paracas, Ballestas, Huacachina, Nasca, Arequipa, Colca Canyon, Puno, Lake Titicaca, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu. Daarbij konden we steeds rekenen op een persoonlijke, professionele Engels sprekende gids. Vooral dank aan Carolina, Pablo, Susy, Hector, Franklin,… ze hebben ons veel bijgebracht over de rijke geschiedenis, de historische Inca-steden, de interessante musea, de schilderachtige natuur met prachtige fauna en flora van het wondermooie Andes-land Peru.
De selectie van hotels was prima. Interessante tips van onze gidsen leidden ons bovendien naar een aantal hoogstaande culinaire belevenissen zoals de restaurants Chicha in Arequipa en Cusco en Punta Azul, La Mar en La Rosa Nautica in Lima.
Na een mooie afsluiter van vier dagen in Corto Maltès in het Amazonegebied nabij Puerto Maldonado vlogen we meer dan voldaan terug naar Lima.

Samen met een vriendin heb ik 12 dagen door prachtig en veelzijdig Peru gereisd. Het was een onvergetelijke ervaring.
Dank aan Annelies voor een zorgvuldig geplande reis waarin de door ons aangegeven wensen verwerkt waren. Dank ook aan de gidsen die een brede kennis hadden van natuur, cultuur en geschiedenis van Peru. Zoveel verhalen gehoord, zoveel gezien, ongelofelijk!

VAMOS provided professional preparation with all useful information and a smooth course of an energetic journey through an impressive and very varied country. The Larco museum in Lima as a starter is ideal for getting into the Inca atmosphere. A quiet build-up along the coast to higher regions, with hardly time to process all the impressions and top sights such as Titicaca, Cusco and surroundings and of course the reward after a tough day's trail: Machu Picchu! As an ideal ending, caimans, giant otters, macaws, monkeys, spiders,... in the rainforest. The attentive follow-up behind the scenes by Carmen is the secret of a relaxing trip!
Pleasant company and conversations with Pablo, Sandra, Nathalia and many others provided a better insight into a fantastic country with a great culture!

We zijn nu een weekje terug thuis na een onvergetelijke reis van 3 weken in het wondermooie Peru. Vorig jaar in september, hadden we samen met een bevriend koppel, een reisbespreking met Annelies. Er werd een reisschema opgesteld op maat en volgens onze wensen. Onze verwachtingen werden ruimschoots ingelost!
We bezochten de belangrijkste
bezienswaardigheden zoals het Larco museum in Lima, Paracas, Islas Ballestas, vlucht over de Nasca Lines, Arequipa, Colca canyon, varen in het Titicacameer met bezoek aan de rieten eilanden, een dag verblijf in de Luquina gemeenschap, luxe trein nr Cusco, prachtige stad trouwens. Pisa, Tambomachay, sacred valley, een pittige short incatrail, bezoek Machu Picchu. En tot slot vlucht en bezoek rainforest.
We vielen dagelijks van de éne verbazing nr de andere.
De gidsen Carolina, Pablo, Sandra, Nathalia enz... waren subliem! Waarvoor dank!
De reisorganisatie was werkelijk perfect!! Carmen was altijd en overal bereikbaar, direct adequate hulp gekregen bij een
geannuleerde vlucht, en bij een achtergelaten donsjasje, dat bij terugkeer in Miraflores nr het hotel opgestuurd was.
Geen erge last gehad van hoogteziekte dankzij de goede planning van Annelies!
Er waren ook voldoende rustpauzes ingebouwd.
Vamos expeditions verdient van ons een grote pluim!!

We just came back from a two-week trip to Peru and cannot wait to plan the next one with Vamos. Everything was very well organized and so professional. We got a detailed description of the trip beforehand including restaurant recommendations. Every guide and driver were timely, kind and enthused about showing their country. Marisol and Iphrain (Cusco) were top notch, willing to change the schedule when we stumbled onto the 150-year celebration of a city and did not mind stopping for pictures along the way. I had always wanted to go to Peru and see the Inca sites. I also wanted a road trip holiday that add in Bolivia. Annelies and Vamos Expeditions planned an unique holiday for us. At covered all the key activities and sightseeing sites. The accommodation was great and in perfect locations. The guides that were arranged were fantastic, knowledgeable of the history and local culture, particularly Carolina in Lima and Fernando in Cusco.
The support provided by Carmen, at head office, was awesome. The was great having her there is help at a moment’s notice.
