Thanks Viva Expeditions for a wonderful Brazil adventure. Five days aboard the Toucana on the Rio Negro in the Amazon was sensational. Time in the Pantanel with its abundant bird and wildlife was very special as were the experiences in the Bonito region. Every aspect of my trip was very well organised and the English speaking guides were exceptional.

From the time we booked until the time we finished our Botswana Safari it was perfect!

The tour was well organized and everything went as planed. The only reason you didn't get 5 stars is the level of communication between the company and the client which was too minimal.

This is the 2nd trip I've taken with Viva Expeditions. The first trip I did was exceptional, as was this trip to Quito and The Galapagos Islands. It's such a relief to know that your vacation (save the flights, which are obviously not under their control) will go as promised. You can sit back and enjoy. I definitely plan to work with Viva again for another trip. And I would love to return to Ecuador; the people and the sights were fantastic!

My husband and I are both in our 70ties and this was our first time traveling to South America. We wanted to see as much as possible and contacted destination specialist Flor, from Viva Expeditions in Albany, to put together a very comprehensive 42 day itinerary through 5 South American countries for us.
Chile, Argentina, Brazil ,Peru, Equator & a 8 day cruise to the Galapagos Island.
Everything went faultlessly and without a hitch. We were met at airports, hotels and always on time, always with a smile. The drivers were super safe, the vehicles comfortable and in great condition and the guides were knowledgeable, pleasant and spoke good English. All Viva’s South America’s representatives were always on call, checking on our progress regularly, keeping in touch through WhatsApp and ready to help if needed. We cannot recommend Viva Expedition highly enough and would definitely use them again. A big thank you to Flor!

Our third trip booked with Viva. Tania Gurtin made the whole process amazingly easy to arrange. We specified what we wanted to see and Tania came back to us with suggestions. We made a decision based on locations and costs involved and Tania did the rest.
All our accommodation was really great so comfortable at each location, tents were beautifully present, super comfortable beds and lovely outlook at each location.
The food was as good as what you would received in a town restaurant, very fresh and tasty.
Each location had different hight points - all good but seeing the African painted wild dogs at The Hide had to be a high point along with seeing two male cheetah - not at all expected but we just happened to be in the right location at the right time. David our guide at the The Hide was really great - had a great sense of humour.
At Changa our guide Nash - was a wealth of knowledge and was happy to answer all our questions, and also made us think about what we were seeing. Seeing a large male lion at Changa was a surprise and exciting as he was very close. We did enjoy the pool at Changa camp too.
We were privileged to meet John Stevens at John's Camp and spent an evening with him hearing amazing stories about the camp and the area. Milo the camp owner/manager was so hospitable and caring of the environment and wild life in the area, his team created such a welcoming camp - with exceptional food created by their team over open fires. Our guide Mark was great fun and we all enjoyed our 7km walk beside Long Pool watching the hippo and seeing elephant - thankfully the elephant didn't come too close. Hopefully we will be booking again for another adventure.

We recently travelled with Viva Expeditions through Brazil and Costa Rica (Manaus, Rio de Janeiro, La Fortuna, Monteverde and Manuel Antonio) and were really impressed with how well everything was organised. The whole trip was well put together and ran pretty much like clockwork. We had one weather-related hiccup, our bags did not make it onto our final (4th) flight from New Zealand into Manaus, but the ground team were fantastic and arranged for them to be collected and delivered to us at the Amazon ecolodge and after landing in that heat, after 48 hours odd of travel, and speaking no Portuguese, that was a huge relief! Itineraries and contact details were all provided in advance, we were checked in on and at every airport we were met, looked after, and smoothly transferred to our next destination. Overall, a fantastic trip, we felt well supported throughout and would happily recommend Viva Expeditions.

Bryony was so helpful booking our trip and made sure that we had everything in order before we departed to ensure a stress free trip!

Communication with our travel consultant was excellent. Everything met our expectations. The choice of Galaxy as our boat company was excellent and Eco Galaxy was a very good boat.

Thanks Viva Expeditions, especially Pia, I felt safe and secure on my trip with you there as back up, all travel went as planned. GAdventures in Costa Rica was superb with a great guide, wonderful people and amazing places.

Everything went smoothly, on time, and to plan. Guides and drivers were courteous and knowledgeable. When we did have a small irregularity with one of the tours the issue was acknowledged and resolved promptly. Communication was excellent through the booking process, pre-departure, and during our holiday.

We had the most amazing holiday and all arrangements were perfect. All transfers were on time, all accommodation just what we were looking for and every single guide was outstanding. Couldn't fault anything and we got to see so much of what Chile has to offer. Thank you Bryony and Viva Auckland for your care and attention in putting this holiday together for us.

On arrival met by Viva representative, Lizet. Very comprehensive run through all arrangements. Impressed as she stayed in contact via whatsapp right through our journey.
All arrangements on time. Drivers' good, guides better than good - interesting informative excellent English. Vehicles were excellent standard, comfortable and clean and modern

The private tours included in the itinerary we highly recommend - having our own personal guide, Jessica and Lizbeth exceptional. Moved at our pace, happy to spend as much time as we needed anywhere. Adapted to our interests in what we saw on each tour.

Overall the trip was incredibly well planned and instrumented For first drop into sacred valley for acclimatisation to having a free day at end in sacred valley we never felt rushed and got a great overall experience of the Incan culture, the amazing experience of Machu Picchu and the incredible sights Peru has to offer From being greeted from arrival by lizet giving clear information on the plans for the week …. All accommodation was value for money the standard hotels great locations clean comfortable Premium well worth it, offering extra comforts and amenities. The premium in sacred value perfect for 2 nights. Beautiful property and the setting meant for a tranquil break in the busy schedule. Train to Machu pichu was so much fun and the wow factor definitely worth doing the upgrade to the Prime Train 41

Viva delivered a perfect introduction for us on first time to Peru all we could have achieved in the short time we had.

Seeing Norway, Lapland and Finland from many different perspectives - train, coach, boat. Getting information about various sites, history, peoples, animals. The Hurtigruten travel (6 nights) was particularly interesting and enjoyable.
