We have been using this company for several years now. (twice a year). I can't understand the poor reviews as we have never had a problem, Although we don't get the £250 deposit back we use it for our next hire (which the company doubles up to £500!!)
The quality of the vehicles has mostly been excellent, although the most recent was a bit tatty.
The booking is always straight forward and easy to follow.
It would probably help if the company mentioned the Damage waiver and insurance during the quoting process.
I think that they are having problems at their head office as you can no longer contact them by 'phone. It also seems like they are making a lot of "mistakes" with regards to after hire charges.
On our most recent trip we travelled about 200 miles but received a charge for extra mileage as they said we had done 1190 miles. We were also charged for cleaning/damage £475 in total! (we always return them in a pristine condition). After contacting Barnsley depot we were told that as far as they were concerned everything was Ok and there shouldn't have been any extra charges. They contacted the offices on our behalf and we have received a refund but are waiting for.....the deposit!!

I found the website and quote process easy to navigate and use. There was a good selection of vehicles to choose from. I really like the layouts and the 360 tour feature. Checking availability and getting a quote was also easy. I was happy with the price and the contact with the quote team.
I should point out that due to a change in circumstances I did not go ahead with the actual hire so can't comment on that element.

Having seen a motor home advertising unbeatable hire on a recent holiday I thought I’d have a look and get a price. We are campers so would love the luxury of a motorhome!
We had a quote, it was very reasonable and may use them for our holiday next year.

Had no problems what so ever. The website is well presented and very easy to negotiate all in all a FIVE STAR experience

Performance far away from web-site quality.
The camper was outdated, extremely dirty and in a poor technical condition.
A car switch was inevitable.
Biggest frustration is the non refund of the deposit, still open after 2,5 months of return.
Sorry guys, but the next hire in Scotland will definitely not be with Unbeatable.

Now I can see why there are so many positive reviews of Motorholme/Unbeatablehire and all of the many brands that this shambles trades under. They send you an email, after checking availability, to offer a £10 Amazon voucher if you leave a review. I have NOT made a reservation because the process was SO painful, and so obviously a complete scam. They don't answer phone calls, they don't answer emails, they send you emails implying they have availability when they have none, their website says their reservations team are there 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week, yet they are not - someone who eventually called me said they are there 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, and then started arguing with me about it, saying that the website is not her problem. Then when I read the reviews of people who had actually booked, I opted to stay away completely. I have booked through Goboony who seem really efficient and straightforward. I have also started receiving numerous spam emails from Motorholme, so that will be a challenge to get them to stop sending them. Stay well away would be my advice, and be aware that this organisation has websites under many, many different names - the look and feel is the same for all of them, so if it looks alike, steer away from it.

the motorhome was old and had multiple problems all before we picked it up, broken window above the cab only held down with duct tape bathroom door didnt have a handle on inside so couldnt be opened from inside, tv power cable was tore so tv didnt work none of the curtains opened or closed without falling out of the runners, the sink drains were blocked and just generally not what you would expect for over 100 pound a day, then the deposit money was late returning to me, and had an extra charge of £63 for cleaning and BFR disposal fee, which i have rang barnsley depot about where i handed over the motor home and they say it was all signed off as fine so should be no charges and i am now having to wait a week with no reply as to why these charges have been put on and all the time i am still waiting for my £1250 deposit which should already be back in my account, all i get when i ring up is told they cant do anything over the phone and i have to email to services which do not reply, also i had this holiday booked for 11 month and on the day before i was due to pick up the motorhome i had an email saying i will be charged £25 for TV licence unless i show proof of mine and email it within 24 hours of the email, it was only by chance that i checked my email that day as i dont check every day otherwise i would have been charged another £25 for nothing (the TV didnt even work after i did all this too) i never usually leave reviews but this company seems to basically be stealing from its customers in broad daylight, what they actually need to keep a £1250 deposit for 6 weeks after you have returned the motor home for is beyond me, it gets fully checked the day you return it and if theres any speeding fines they have your licence details to pass onto the police anyway, if it was a legitimate company they would actually answer the phone and sort these things out for you, i will never use this company again and will tell anyone who asks to avoid as it should be shut down

All 1* reviews are ACTUAL customers, their details mirror my experience.

I didn't want to pay their hidden extra waiver excess charges so i got the same thing online for a fraction of their cost but they took a £1250 deposit which they kept for 4 months (2 months after i'd returned the van) and only returned it after I threatened to contact the police.
Pre booking was easy and post booking was the complete opposite.
I'm very suspicious about all the '1 review' accounts with 'great website' or 'will book at some mythical time in the future'.
Why don't these people review every website they visit with such passion. Very suspicious especially because I can confirm the details of the 1* reviewers to be true

The website is very helpful and informative. Although we haven’t hired yet as we are not sure about dates we think this will be the company that has the edge on others for their price and quality vans

Initially I was impressed by the website and its offerings however, if I wanted to revise my quote I had to enter all my details again which was a pain when I wanted to explore several different options. Then, when I tried to get answers to some FAQs, that section went haywire and produced a completely unintelligible page. Having said all that, the final quote that I went with was very acceptable and I am looking forward to my holiday in just a few weeks time.

I searched the web to find a company and found this one. The site was so easy and simple to get a quote and very detailed in what you get. Customer service was fantastic and the support second to none.

Website easy to navigate and communication quick

AVOID THIS COMPANY.
In good faith we rented a motor home for 12 days. The water pump never worked, due to faulty fuse box. I was offered a refund I returned the motorhome after 2 days. Although the hire money was refunded none of the additional costs have been. I have lost over £300 to unbeatable and another £175 in camp site fees. The motorhome we had was not fit for purpose. They don't answer the phone or respond to emails. AVOID.

Great service, recommended

We were looking for rent one for a week so we could go to the south of the country. The site is very intuitive and very easy to get answers from without big troubles. We just didn't rent with this company as we had to pick up the vehicle far away form our house (2h).
Overall quite happy with the way the site presents the info but unfortunately was not what we wanted this time.

I got a quote from this company which was, contrary to their name, very beatable. They now text me every day with the quote details and it is impossible to unsubscribe from their texts, because they do not use a number. This fails to comply with text marketing regulations.

I have reported the company to the ICO via their spam-texts-and-nuisance-calls web page.

It's clear from reading Trustpilot how this company goes about their business. They seem to respond in an earnest manner by claiming technical difficulties however empty apologies are not the right way to deal with complaints. Blaming technology is just lazy. It's your technology and it wasn't properly tested. People need refunds, compensation and to know what you've done to put the problems right.

Great website. Were able to see the prices so we could research into the possibility of hiring later in the year. Great, local company and prices were best around. Will be hiring soon.

Asked for a quote.. got a very reasonable one straight away!.. very impressed... will definitely be using this company.. hopefully again and again... definitely would recommend this company
