nooit meer huur ik bij deze firma. betaal liever ergens wat meer dan nogmaals afgezet te worden door deze firma. alle voorgaande reviews zijn terecht.de goede reviews hebben ze er zelf opgezet denk ik. ik snap niet dat deze firma mag blijven verhuren. hier in België zou ik testaankoop inschakelen. de firma waar we de mobilehome moesten gaan afhalen in Edinburg zeiden zelf dat de firma niet te vertrouwen is. ze proberen u van alles aan te smeren . verzekeringen extra gasfles enz.... tijdens het reserveren laten ze u ook weken wachten op een antwoord. ook de waarborg hebben ze niet volledig terugbetaald met een smoes. ook bijna 4 maanden moeten wachten. het werd pas terugbetaald toen we dreigde met een advocaat. NEEN DIT NOOIT MEER.

Right I can finally write this review, 54 days after I returned the campervan I hired through this company. The deposit has finally been returned!!! The deposit by the way is taken by Medin Marketing Ltd Cambridgeshire as are the other payments. If you scroll down these reviews then you will see that one other diligent reviewer has listed all the other companies they trade/hide under/behind.
I really regret not reading these reviews before I booked!
I needed a campervan to sleep in whilst i raced in a 24 hour race so googled and found these guys, on the face of it they seemed ok and easily booked the camper and paid my money. However this is where the nightmare began, they have this list you have to work through which keeps adding extras to the cost of your hire, the issue is that once you have paid the initial payment this is non-refundable, so you either lose your initial payment or stump up the extra money. They do not answer the phone, they will only correspond with you through the chat facility and maybe email. I had to threaten them with HMRC to get a VAT invoice, they make you wait 28 business days for your deposit back, bearing in mind there were 2 bank holidays in May this in my case equated to 54 calendar days before my money showed back on my AMEX card. Their excuse is that you may have got a speeding fine which i have researched has to come to the registered keeper of the vehicle within 16 days, ie 14 days and 2 days Royal Mail (David Beckham case), They book the vehicle back in when you return it so that's no excuse either. I don't doubt that the vehicle has a tracker so they also know whether the vehicle has gone overseas. Each vehicle on their fleet has a separate legal charge on it (pages and pages listed on Companies House) so they don't own the vehicles either it seems. When questioned about the return of your deposit you have a window to log in and apply for it back! Coming from the mobile phone industry we used to have cancellation periods in contracts that would renew if you didn't cancel during the window. These were outlawed 20 years ago. I'm no lawyer but think that having to apply for your own deposit back in this way must be illegal. To cap it off I would advise NOT to hire from this shower or any of the other names they masquerade under. They are just plain NASTY

WARNING! PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO ALL REVIEWS BEFORE MAKING A BOOKING – whilst this business appears legitimate, and it does have motorhomes for hire, DO NOT MAKE A BOOKING, no matter how good the deal seems or what discount is offered.

This company, current registered name ‘Unbeatablehire Limited' and its wholly owned subsidiary ‘Hire Booking Centre Ltd’ trade under numerous business names, including Motorhome Hire UK. Hire Booking Centre Ltd has been threatened with being struck off the CH register in 2018 and again in 2019.

Hidden charges abound as soon as you make a booking – you’re charged for everything, from a water pipe and electric cable (essential wouldn’t you think?!), to leaving your car in their car park when you pick up the motorhome. They also demand a massive £1265 deposit, £1250 of which you are supposed to get back after 28 working days. Whilst this is already a very long period of time (it means you can’t even hope to get your deposit back until around 2 months after you drop the vehicle back), good luck EVER getting it back!

Motorhome Hire UK will do everything possible to ensure they don’t have to pay your deposit back, and you will never be able to speak to a person to chase or dispute this – they do not answer any of the different published phone numbers, and do not reply to emails. I am now pursuing the return of my deposit through my credit card company, hoping I’ll eventually get it back. However, I can imagine a lot of people give up.

As a very large number of other reviewers have advised, I would strongly suggest you AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. A company that behaves in this manner should not be allowed to trade, and each and every director should be disqualified from ever holding this or any similar position again. Even if the company is struck off, it’s likely they will move the business into a new corporate entity (as they’ve done repeatedly in the past), so check the business operating address before making a booking for any motorhome – if the business is operating out of Fairways, Toft Road, Bourn, Cambridgeshire, no matter what the registered company or trading name, then it’s almost certainly going to be the same dishonest people running it.

This is the first review I have ever written – that shows how strongly I feel about ensuring other people do not get conned by the very dishonest officers of the company who are stealing from people under the guise of operating these businesses. I have never seen so many negative reviews for a business online…how is it that Trading Standards and ActionFraud are allowing this to continue?!

I rented a motorhome from Unbeatable Hire the start of April.
The booking process was very painful and once they have your deposit they then start adding extras every step of the way including parking your car at their depot and trying to charge you for a TV licence. It was so bad that I tried to cancel but they refused to give my deposit back saying that covered the cost of the weeks hire so reluctantly I went ahead - big mistake!!!
They tell you that it takes 28 days to get your deposit back once you return the van - this is a lie.I am still trying to get my deposit back 2 months later.
I have now found out they they are charging me for a number of items that I have no knowledge about including £700 + VAT for a Luton Leg - I'm not even sure which part of the van this is!!! It certainly wasn't pointed out to me when I handed the motorhome back to the depot.
In my opinion they are nothing but rip off merchants and I would never use this company again. I would urge others to boycott them as well if you don't want to be ripped off!!!

Absolute scammers! AVOID AVOID AVOID! Clearly just out to scam people's money. So many hidden charges it's unbelievable. I have found at least 3 websites that these scammers are running. To get a deposit back is pretty much impossible. Charges on card from different companies but all link back to the same Cambridge address. No-one answers the phones. The campervan was in pretty bad condition and the hidden charges kept mounting up. I hope others read this review before using this company.

I should have read the reviews before booking.
The van was in bad condition-so many things broken in it when we collected it (make sure you take plenty of photos of all defects before you take the van otherwise they will try to charge you for the damage when you return the van)
Getting our deposit back from them has been a nightmare. 3 months since we returned the van and still waiting....technical glitch apparently. Technical glitch that has them hanging onto our £1200!!

All the bad reviews are true.

Once these crooks get their hooks in your screwed. Do not give them your financial details.

Sleep on a park bench if you have to but do not get drawn in to dealings with these sharks.

If you have booked already and paid your deposit report your card lost and email them to cancel. Do not let them pressure you into cancellation via the online portal and do not pay them the full balance.

They cannot force you to pay the full balance providing that you have given sufficient notice to allow them to re-let the asset.

P.S. If you are reviewing this company you should also do this on review centre to ensure a fair and balanced appraisal is available to assist other consumers.

Do not book with company. We booked thinking we were getting a good deal but turns out it was a BIG mistake. Firstly the online booking system is awful, not up to scratch at all. You need to pay for literally everything additionally and when we picked up the campervan the guy was lovely and had basically left us stuff even tho we didn't ask for it e.g. Toilet paper. You get constant emails about paying for this that and the next thing and if you don't follow the online booking process you can't proceed with the hire. Next you have to pay a £250 deposit, which is fine but getting this back after the hire was a nightmare. We hired the campervan at the beginning of March and didn't get our deposit back until mid May. The website says you will receive it within 28 days. This is a LIE, they do not release any funds until the 28th day after hire. They then tried to charge me for cleaning and emptying of tanks even tho we never used them. Dispute takes forever and you need to jump though hoops to get it back. You also pay for 3 day hire but only get to pick it up after 3pm on the day of hire but need to have it back for 11am on the return date. That's not 3 full days. The only upside to this experience was that the actually men who worked at the collection for the campervan ciuldnt not have been better. But they are separate companies and can not help you with any issues. So much so that I asked for early collection on the pick up date and was told that it wasn't available by unbeatable hire. Half an hour latter the men at the collection depot ring and say I can collect anytime. No communication at all as you can't call them and the online chat is not effective they can't really help either!

Atrocious company. Headline offer price is competitive but then they bombard you with extra costs, everything from pots and pans to toilet roll. Also you have to pay for the blue chemical you put in exhaust systems. What a rip off. Even parking your car whilst away has a fee. Surprised I wasn't charged for each time I turned on the windscreen wipers.

If you use them its your own fault but don't expect anything but a rude and ignorant customer service team and a totally over priced booking

Do not use - this branding is a front for several companies linked to the same directors including unbeatablehire ltd, motorholme hire ltd, national motorhomes, southampton motorhomes. They are shambolic, took our money and deposit money and tried to fob me off with a disgusting, dirty van, with broken bits all over it, and a badly cracked windscreen in the drivers eyeline making it unfit to drive. We refused it, leaving our Easter holiday in ruins. I strongly advise you read the reviews on unbeatablehire ltd on twitter, trustpilot and elsewhere before using. They have also had to make disclosures on their own website follow a series of complaints to trading standards - this is not normal hire where you agree and sign off on damages before hire, with inspection and signed agreement between the firm and the customer - I can only imagine where this leads.

If you are experiencing problems with this company, contact your local trading standards via citizens advice. More people who report this company, the more likely they will investigate.

Didn’t even get to hire a van but went through such a palaver over the phone and on line to organise it. The prices increased repetitively from £199 to £699! We gave up but have been bombarded with e mails and texts since. My main concern is that, to get a quote, you have to go through the online procedure which involves you giving your bank card details, as if you were booking. So these cowboys have our bank card details now. I rang to discuss this but surprise surprise no one answered! Don’t give them your business.

My god literally where do you start with this company! Firstly congratulations on managing to persuade enough friends and family to leave you good reviews. This company is an utter scamming enterprise. We went to the site in Middlewich.The vans seem to be good on the whole, it's just the blatant dishonest penalties once you've returned the van that are the problem. Honestly now DO NOT use this company, you WILL be disappointed and you WILL be left feeling cheated and you WILL be left out of pocket. They try every trick in the book to steal money from you. False claim after false claim to penalise you and withhold your deposit. Scracthes on the external graphics NOT TRUE, returning the van with a full toilet cassette NOT TRUE damage to one of the window mechanisms NOT TRUE. There were loads of attempts to defraud us and it's the same as we've read happens to everyone else. When we picked up, used and returned the van we were unbelievably careful and respectful. The gormless sweaty moron who released the van to us told us that one of the windows was faulty so "be careful using it" - we specifically DID NOT use it at all, ever, just to make sure we didn't damage it. On returning the van he miraculously noticed the window had "been damaged during our hire" but was "ok before". WOW. Staggering lies. Literally totally fabricated to trap us as if we were as braindead as he was. He opened the toilet cassette and looked inside and claimed it was full from toilet use. That morning I had emptied it at the site we stayed at, cleaned it out with a hose, twice, drying upside down and open in-between washes. I then filled it with the precise amount of blue liquid and water HE SPECIFIED yet he claimed it hadn't been cleaned and was fill of toilet waste. You just couldn't make it up. When I pointed out the blindingly obvious and assumed that common sense and honesty would prevail, he just maintained in a famously dead-behind-the-eyes manner that what we were looking at was not blue chemical but brown toilet water. Where do you go from there? It's as pointless as arguing with a Satsuma because you wanted it to be a Banana. This guy is so devoid of logic that I doubt he even knew he was at work. A true legend of stupidity. I took the argument up with the lady on the phone who doesn't even deserve mentioning she was that obtuse and arrogant. In all this was a farcical situation. Luckily enough for us we were able to write off the money they stole and just be properly annoyed and outraged but this no doubt happens to families who can't afford to lose these sums of money to these scammers. Seriously do not hire a van from here, it'll end in at least a really bitter experience.

They told us to clean the toilet and leave cleaning fluid in which we did and then charged us for not emptying it!

They tried to say we got a parking fine too but when I queried it as we hadn't parked anywhere other than the campsite they dropped that.

The worst cowboys we have ever dealt with.

They also tried to say we scratched it which we didn't, when we argued it and said we wouldn't leave until they viewed the pictures of before and after on a computer screen they all of a sudden dropped that too.

I could go on with the list of things that were wrong with the van and their shocking scamming ways but I haven't got all day.

i haven't yet picked up the mobile home I have hired from this company but I am already regretting having any contact with them for a;; the reasons everyone else who have left reviews state , ie lack of response , hidden costs , charged for extras that are always included as standard ( knives , forks plates cups. steering wheel ) , TV licence ? they charge you extra if you want a van that isn't battered, they hammer you with emails and txts relating to the added extras that should be standard, I am dreading trying to get my deposit back at the end of the hire , disgusting , crap

Poor payment system took 4 x payment required.
Then they wanted an extra £1000 which was not mentioned anywhere. Could not ring to get through at all.

There was nothing wrong with the motorhome but it's now 6 weeks since we returned it and we still haven't got our deposit back

I hired a camper between Christmas and New Year 2018. It was a great deal. £99 for 5 days.
I paid a deposit outright on my credit card of £1250. I thought this was strange because I hire lots of vehicles and you normally reserve the excess on your credit card. I pay for an annual car rental excess insurance too so I decided to insure the motorhome excess through Questor for £50.
After I paid the security deposit, the emails started. From an extra gas bottle (the heating didn’t work in the van), to cutlery, tv licence, toilet chemical pack, van tutorial all for a fee which gets deducted from your deposit. I said I didn’t need anything. The van was clean and modern but the outside was dirty. We were told the gas heating didn’t work but were given a couple of blow heaters.

The van had everything we needed inside including all the chargable cutlery and dishes.

The deposit is held onto incase you get a speeding ticket or parking fine. I was told to click the link to get my deposit back. Finally after sending a second email and 28 working days I got the link on 11th Feb. I clicked through and accepted my deposit which would be paid in 3-5 working days. Forward to 22nd Feb and no deposit returned. I sent an email asking for the deposit by 5pm. Still nothing. I am convinced there is some kind of money laundering/unscrupulous cash withholding going on here so I found the director on Companies House and Linked In. His name is Andrew Hughes and he’ll be hearing from the FCA and anyone else who will listen. Meanwhile, I will now be contacting Barclaycard to open a payment dispute.
