First time buying at auction was a very easy process, will buy again thanks

Abbie Salter, had patiently shown us multiple properties, before showing us around our dream house. At every stage of our move she acted with professional dignity and was sympathetic to the obstacles we had to overcome. Although she was not our seller she went over and above every expectation we could ever hope for in an estate agent to make completion happen.

Professional from start to finish. They made everything stress-free and were very reliable with excellent, timely communication. Arranging viewings with tenants was particularly appreciated and time-saving.

It’s was a awful experience moving out ,after paying deposit from the beginning of moving in and when I moved out the agent refused to refund my deposit and said it’s wasn’t a deposit but a 50percent of the last rent and still refused to refund til date ,after giving me date and time that a new tenant would move in at the early of my notice and the new tenant move in immediately I move out and never refund my 50 percent deposit I paid from the beginning of renting the accommodation. I was treated badly and ignore and threatened even before my move out . Till now am still traumatized with such horrific experience with your agent of renting an apartment . I just believe is because I was a black that why he did such , because have rented other apartment before moving in here and I wasn’t treated like that and all through my stay I never defaulted in my rent payments even the damage I cause which also caused my injury in the process I was ask to pay and I did without complain but when it’s time to refund my deposit your agent started giving a lot of excuses and ignore so he won’t refund. I don’t believe he treat other race like that because the way he treated me was wrong

Abigail in the Malmesbury office was great, she managed the sale of my property, from finding a good buyer through to a super quick exchange of contracts, giving regular updates throughout. Would highly recommend.

Although it took a while to sell our house. Strakers Malmesburys tenacious attitude lead to success in a very difficult house selling climate.

I have used Strakers for over 10 years as the managing agents of a rental property. I have been impressed with their professional approach and prompt service as and when required, and it has been very good to know that I could leave the management of the tenancy in their hands without worrying about anything.

Throughout the long process of 14 months to complete our house move, which involved selling our house 3 times, the staff at Strakers went well beyond what might be expected to support us and promote our sale. They always kept us informed of events in our chain and provided helpful advice and guidance when things became difficult. We certainly made the right choice in choosing them to sell our house and are extremely grateful for the exceptional service they gave us.

Our experience with Strakers left us extremely disappointed and significantly out of pocket.

After viewing a property through Strakers, we felt heavily pressured to offer the full asking price immediately in order to “secure” the house. Once our offer was accepted, there was constant pressure to move quickly, with repeated chasing of us, our solicitor and even the agent selling our own property. We were encouraged to push ahead with legal work and surveys despite concerns within the chain.

Acting on this urgency, we spent close to £1,000 on surveys and legal costs. When our buyer unexpectedly withdrew, we were given less than a week to secure another buyer before the property was remarketed and sold elsewhere.

At the same time, we were advised to urgently reduce the price of our own property by more than we had intended to in order to secure a quick sale. In hindsight, this advice appears to have worked against us and left us financially disadvantaged.

What frustrated us most was the imbalance throughout the process. We were repeatedly pressured to accelerate and incur costs quickly, yet once another buyer was found, the urgency seemed to disappear entirely.

We also discovered inaccurate information had apparently been communicated to our own estate agent during the process, which only added to our concerns regarding transparency.

We appreciate that chains collapse and house purchases are stressful. However, we came away feeling that maintaining momentum in the chain was prioritised above protecting buyers from unnecessary risk and expense.

Others may have a different experience, but based on ours, we would advise prospective buyers and sellers to proceed carefully, ask questions, and avoid being pressured into moving faster than they are comfortable with.

We raised our dissatisfaction directly with Strakers through their formal complaints process. Despite the concerns outlined and the financial loss incurred, they denied any wrongdoing and declined to accept any accountability for the way the transaction was handled.

It was refreshing to meet an agent who was so welcoming, down to earth, enthusiastic and made my wife and I feel at ease, unhurried and who listened to our feedback and gave helpful comments which were unbiased and informative on each property we viewed with Sue

From our initial contact with Strakers, their service has been excellent. When first approached they gave clear advice about the market and selling. When we asked them to put the property on the market, they were able to identify buyers and we had an agreed offer within 48 hours. Various difficulties did arise but we were willing to keep the offer and Strakers supported the potential buyers who have been able to complete the deal now. The staff at Strakers are always welcoming and helpful and whoever is in the office, they are aware of what’s going on regarding the sale. They have managed the sale very well
