This company allows the bullying and harassment of others who leave 1 star reviews.

This company allows the bullying and harassment of others who leave 1 star reviews.

This is just a warning to others who leave 1 star reviews!

The format of this con is outdated!

I attended the event Warp 2 this weekend with my family! the set up is just wrong!

There is nothing to do apart from watch talks, get a photo or get a autograph! no traders no activities nothing! also the location of the hotel makes it really expensive to got to and stay at! more for families!

How other cons do autographs is the guests are sat at their tables most of the day and you can just walk up whenever you wanted to get things signed!

Starfury does it by batch number! so if you wanted to watch a talk and your number batch is called you have to miss the talk or walk out of it in the middle of it!

There are to many gaps between talks/photo/autos, where the only thing attendees can do is talk or go have food! if there was a room with traders or movie props like the Enterprise bridge or even a games room with consoles for kids! that would have the con be 100 times better!

The disco starts way to late 9pm is late if you have kids! 8pm would be better, and that's if it started on time as the Saturdays one started around 9.30pm due to the poor timing of the cosplay compo!

The price of the ticket is extortionate £135, yes you get access to the parties, and the autos are included for the regular guests but what if you did not want anything signed you should be able to buy that separate and not be forced to as part of the ticker price!

All the Q&A Sessions and the Opening/Closing Ceremony should be free anyway not part of the ticket price.

There should be an option to buy 3 day, weekend, or just a day ticket! that would be so much better for people who can't afford a hotel in london or £135 ticket price is a lor for some people!!

The hotel itself is in a very poor location for what you get! yes there is a Mcdonald's and some other pubs that's it, the hilton at the NEC is way better as its central and if there are gaps you can wander off to Resorts world! plus the hilton at the NEC have more room!

If you have kids this event is not for them! as there is nothing for them to do! good thing for tablets to keep kids occupied!

The format of the event needs looking at!!!! it may have worked in the olden days but it don't now!

I don't think I will be coming back if its held in London!

Had another great weekend at Warp 2

Had another great weekend at Warp 2
Catching up with friends and making new ones.
Starfury warp are one of the few conventions that include all the guest talks, quite a few autographs and the evening parties all in the price of a ticket.
That plus the friendly Starfury crew is what makes it a great value convention for me.
Hopefully there will a Warp 3 or I can make the one of their other conventions.

Starfury Warp 2 Review.

I’ve just completed my second Starfury event with Warp 2 (my first was Warp 1 — only logical, of course).
I have to give a huge shoutout to Sean and the entire team for putting together such an incredible event. Everyone was organised, helpful, polite, and professional throughout. These events feel far more intimate and relaxed than the huge conventions, and it’s obvious from the interactions between the actors and attendees that the connection is genuine, warm, and appreciated by everyone involved.
I also think the Starfury team made the best possible use of the available space. I know many people volunteer their time to help run these events, including the stewarding team, purely because of their passion for the show and their commitment to making sure everyone has the best experience possible — so a big thank you to them as well.
As for the lineup, it was simply incredible. Every single actor brought their A-game and was brilliant. Bob and JG were absolutely epic — I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much at a convention. Armin and Kitty were wonderful too, and shared some amazing stories. Huge thanks to them as well.
Honestly, it felt like the guests were having just as much fun as the attendees, and I sincerely hope the Starfury team realise how much love there is for this franchise, and how appreciated these events are. They’ve done an amazing job with both events so far.
Bring on Warp 3.

Wonderful Warp2

From the opening Friday evening for registration to the closing ceremony Starfury Warp2 delivered excellence and a wonderful level of customer service.
The event makes sure your day is filled with things to do and the staff and stewards couldn't do enough to make sure the experience was a joyful and fulfilling one.
The staff and management are always visible and available and ready to help should any issues arise.
The whole vibe of the event is one of relaxation for both the guests and attendees .
I would highly recommend Starfury for a more personal con experience

We loved the experience of Warp 2 (and…

We loved the experience of Warp 2 (and its predecessor warp 1)

Personally I’m a fan on conventions that really focus on the stars of the show, give the opportunity to meet and hang out with fellow fans and provide a really inclusive and warm atmosphere.

Yes there could be more activities to fill the gaps, yes there could be more merch (though tbh I’d probably get told off for buying more trek stuff) but if you plan your days, enjoy the atmosphere and just embrace that you are at a con..

The parties are a little late for kids, but our 8 year old loves them and we aren’t the last standing on the dance floor.. but watching him chatting to fellow fans, making friends and then being greeted the following day was amazing (though his mum less impressed by being described as Edward’s mum for the rest of the weekend)

I’d love to see Warp 3, for me this is the epitome of what a Star Trek Con should be..

Again I have had a real good experience with Starfury Conventions. Everything for me seemed to run smoothly and never had an issue. Sean always engages with attendees and always makes everyone feel welcome. I understand that running events can be a challenge but the team seem to be ace at doing so. And with getting a autograph with some of the guests included with entry tickets as well as entry to all talks and parties it's pretty good.
Keep up the good work everyone

Had a fantastic time with this convention company, it's run in a hotel and was so much more comfortable for me then the big comic cons as in was just for the show that I wonted to see instead of being overwhelmed by the choose the staff and the autograph team were amazing when I had an issue and the photos ran so smoothly will definitely be back

27 Years and counting

I have been attending Starfury events for 27 years, now. They are small events perfect for old hands or first timers. The staff always do their very best to make the events fun for all. I have met some great guests over the years, partied hard and made some life long friends. Cant wait for the next one.

Classic con feel for adults, but welcoming of all

I’ve been to a few Star Fury events now and they’ve all been fantastic. Sure some guests cancel but that is unavoidable with some guests, they have work and those commitments take precedence.

There’s a real community feel and a similar vibe to the old fashioned smaller cons. The autos and photo shoots are planned really well and I’ve seen them vastly improve over time. The examples being my photos were at 11am, I got there about 15 min before, you were put in a relatively short queue and were filtered through quickly, but not so fast as you couldn’t greet the stars, shake their hands and have a good time. In and out for photos in about 30min is exceptional! I’ve queued for three hours for guests at other cons and the guests were so flustered with the pace and volume - this isn’t the case at a Star Fury con!

Talks were always fun and the guests were brilliant Armin and Todd were the highlight! Armin was so warm and lovely and had great stories and brought a gravitas to his talks that engaged you. Todd brought an enthusiasm and energy that was so infectious, he drew you into his stories and it was fantastic. Sandro was new to cons and you could tell but he grew over the two days, he found his footing and bounced off Todd so well.

The evening discos were typical convention discos, full of fun and silly songs, if I had any criticism of this, it was there should be a bar in the room, as it took so long at the hotel bar then you had to come back and you’d find others would just stay in the bar. But it’s a mild criticism as the convention essentially took over the ground floor so con goers were everywhere and you could mingle and chat regardless.

I’ve seen some criticisms and I don’t entirely get them and wonder what people wanted, complaints that there wasn’t enough for children and there was, but it’s a convention, it’s to have photos with stars, autographs and in reality for a hotel con, drink and socialise, so I’m not entirely sure what was expected. Maybe if a con isn’t for your kids don’t drag them to it or expect miracles to keep their attention.

Looking massively forward to the next Star Fury event and I hope a Warp 3 in the future.

I have just returned from Warp 2

I have just returned from Warp 2. Fun, friendly and very well organised. I signed up as a volunteer steward, a wonderful experience talking to fellow attendees. Absolutely brilliant guests, some may not have been familiar fan favourites but after listening to their stories we loved them all. Guests engaged with attendees with joy and appreciation for fans.

Never had an issue that wasn't quickly resolved.

I've attended a number of Starfury events over the years and never had a problem that wasn't of my own making.

Over the past few years I have needed to take advantage of their accessibility and assistance scheme. I was very nervous initially but the Assistance Team, along with the Photo and Autograph teams were exemplary. They could not be more helpful which eased my worries.

As for the guests, I really enjoyed meeting them, hearing talks and having time to catch up with old friends.

A proper old-school hotel convention, not a cattle-prod event!

In my opinion (and countless others)

In my opinion (and countless others), if you want a good old fashioned Sci/Fi, Fantasy, Horror etc convention then Starfury cannot be beaten. They do events for many different TV programmes and films and these events last for 2 or 3 days. They are not a signing event organisation where you hand over often large sums of money to meet a celebrity for a photo and an autograph and less than one minute later that’s your lot meeting that particular celebrity.

Starfury offer value for money conventions with great guests and opportunities to purchase photographs with the guests and additional autographs and both of these things are considerably cheaper than the standard signing events. As a fact, one autograph from each guest is already generally included in the ticket price.

Staff including stewards are first class (especially if you have an access pass) with their help and advice. Yes some of these conventions can have a lot of attendees (varies between 500 to 1,500) but there’s always friendly fellow attendees to chat to if stuck in a queue for autographs or photos.

I just wish that Starfury went back and did a few other conventions that appeal to me specifically like they used to…Vampire Ball, Game Thrones etc. And please continue with the Star Trek ones as I am brand new to Star Trek conventions and not ready to see them disappear.

Thank you Sean and Co.

Just back from Warp 2 con in London and…

Just back from Warp 2 con in London and had a really enjoyable few days.
Having attended Warp 1 last year, I’ve got my head around the Starfury convention model and how it works in harmony for both the celebrities and the attendees.
Loved catching up with old friends and inevitably making new ones, brainstorming more cosplay ideas and picking up hints and tips from prothetics to face paints.
I didn’t find myself with a lot of down time over the 3 days because the time just seems to run away with you and before you know it’s it’s 2am!
The staff run the event with precision, kindness and professionalism, and didn’t mind answering any questions we had - no matter how many times we asked the same ones.
I personally enjoy listening to the q&a style on the main stage, something starfury do exceptionally well are interesting questions, asking the things you really want to know the answers to and the things you wished you could have thought of yourself, giving you a really personalised experience.
There are many ways to run a convention, and ways that will suit others better -hence the sometimes mixed reviews.
But my take away from this weekend was asking 2 of our most prestigious guests what makes a good convention and they answered ‘exactly this’. This is the kind of event they want to come to and recommend to their colleagues. Thank you Sean and extended team, and please can we have another one? 🖖

First Starfury events, hopefully not the last!

I had never been to a Starfury event before last autumn's Warp 1 and it was so much fun that I immediately booked Warp 2, which took place this past weekend and was an equally positive experience. Both are lovely, relaxed fan meets which blend professional organisation (everything running more or less on time in spite of so much going on!) with an old school, friendly atmosphere (except with more modern inclusivity than some of the old cons). There was a huge amount of access to the Trek actors on offer, all of whom get a lot of opportunities to show off their personalities and entertain the crowd - even the ones I didn't know all that well beforehand were wonderful, warm and chatty. I laughed, I nearly cried and I loved every minute of the con. Big thanks to the team keeping everything running! We'll be back if there's a Warp 3 one day.

My husband & I have now been to three Starfury events so Warp2 was our fourth. They are the the best cons ever. We have been to other Trek cons & they were no where near as friendly. Warp2 had great guests, big shout out goes out to Armin, JG & Robert for their great entertainment in the last event before the closing ceremony, they were so funny, it was the best. We can't wait for our next Starfury event. Sean & his team are great.

We had a wonderful time at Warp 2

We had a wonderful time at Warp 2. We were able to get autographs and photo opportunities and barely had to queue at all (this is on a regular ticket as well!)
I loved the calm pace of the convention and the fact that we got so much time in the Q+As to ask really varied questions.
Having the guests judge the cosplay was really special and thank you so much for arranging that as part of the weekend, it's so great to be able to show the cosplay to the actors who inspired it!

Boring and non-engaging. Negative reviews will lead to bullying/harassment on their socials. Not a safe environment for disabled or kids.

This feels like little to no effort has gone into it and it shows.

I’ll admit at Warp 1 I wasn’t overly impressed mainly with the massive gaps in the line ups and the fact that outside of guest photos/autos/talks there is literally nothing to keep you engaged. Why there wasn’t separate spaces for autos and photo sessions.

This time the initial line up seemed ok perhaps with a slight step down but still better than its other Star Trek convention competitor. With the loss of Frakes (we saw that one coming) Then another loss with Doug Jones who let’s face it is also a massive people person. It was going to be a struggle. Last time what made up for it was the amazing personality that was Ed Speleers.

The talks which where what saved Warp 1 last time were just flat, at points I was half asleep. Sandro bless his heart this was his first convention experience so was a little nervous but that will come with time.

The cosplay competition would be better off during the day maybe in that massive slot of empty space on Sunday morning because it delayed the start of the disco which already starts late.

Discos start too late especially if you’re with kids or have a condition that affects energy levels. Even if you’re staying across the road after a meal out why would you want to return to a lack lustre disco that starts after 9pm where maybe 6 people are up on the floor. My girls said bring back some balloons to the disco it was literally the only reason she wanted to go because she remembered them from warp 1.

Like you can open the main hall at 10am on Sat but Sun it’s not till noon?

I think if this wasn’t already the last one this would have put me off coming again unless someone I really wanted to meet was announced and again I’d leave it last minute in case of pull outs.

The accessibility seemed to be better organised this time, just make sure you remember to do it in advance. I forgot this time, my wheelchair is too big when I factor in the requirement for a suitcase, so I had to make the choice between sore legs or sore arms from crutches. Went for legs the first day, intend to try arms today but I’ll literally be heading off the exact moment I get my last autograph. When it comes to autos if you are not in that first batch of 1-50 ticket numbers you will be snake queuing in that overly warm room for close to a hour 30 mins. In fact if you gold 180 it’s likely a general entry 1-50 will actually get theirs quicker than you. So what exactly is the priority? You will get better seating and one sit down Friday meet and greet.
The later noon start smarts so much especially when you have a condition which affects your energy and pain levels. This should have been something I came away from upbeat and all ra ra instead I just can’t wait to get on the road home…
Oh and this review is not all about the “kids” as described on their Facebook page but about my experiences and the fact I found this a step down from warp 1 and if outside autos the only thing there to keep the audience engaged are the panels then they need to be good which in this case they weren’t. They need to consider a better venue with more rooms. Invite groups like the Rikers Beard, even invest in some cardboard standees of characters. Have a room for dungeons and dragons, x-wing, flux just something else especially if you’re flying solo or lack a group to socialise with. If Starfury works for you great it’s likely you already know the hard core fans but if you didn’t have that group with you to socialise, talk, joke and hang out with how enjoyable would it be??? Wowza the response to a couple of negative reviews on their social media platforms. 🤦‍♀️

As a result of the harassment and bullying lead by and encouraged by StarFury on their social media events page. I’d say it’s not a safe inclusive environment for anyone with kids or disabilities to attend. Using or allowing your social media platform to be used to tear into, bully and harass an individual because they didn’t like your event and allow your fans to co-opt the page in this manner for them to target those under the age 18yrs old it ethically and morally objectionable.
