They linked my account to someone else's account with out my permission and then chased me for money that person apparently owed.

I made an account at the start of August 2022. I bought FF14 collectors edition, it was recommended by a friend, so I thought I would give it a go.

After setting up my account with no errors what so ever, I tried to set up a monthly subscription via the mogstation. At this point I encountered an error.

I got in touch with customer services, only to be informed by Square Enix that they had linked my account to another account which they claimed owed them money. They apparently did this because my address flagged up.
So basically my account had been linked by Square Enix (they claimed automatically) to another account with out my consent and with out my permission and with out following protocol. Protocol says that to link an account to another account both accounts must do some sort of process, well that never happened.

I asked the customer support team to undo this account linking thing they had done. They instead demanded my ID documents off me and kept insisting they now had to follow protocol, They also kept demanding this apparent money I apparently owed them.
When I asked for information about this money they kept demanding off of me, they said that I needed to pay them, told me how to pay them (send the money to this address all that crap) but they point blank refused to tell me what I was apparently paying for, they refused to give me details of the apparent transactions or anything, no date of the transactions no amount of the transaction no nothing, just kept demanding money from me.
I kept informing them that they had made a mistake and explained the issue with the address, which they had actually mentioned and said was the reason for this mess, they claimed they understood the issue but would need proof of this. I didn't quite understand what they meant by this and when I asked them they were very unhelpful.

They eventually admitted their mistake but then told me they would be unable to do anything with out confirmation from the other person who's account they had linked me to, but that they couldn't contact that person because client confidentiality prevented them from doing this. Honestly at this point I was rolling my eyes with how badly this company had handled this situation that they themselves had just admitted they had made.
They however did admit eventually I had nothing to do with this other account, but still their hands were tied. So my account which they admit they linked linked to someone else's account, someone else who I have no connection to, now has "arrears" and I am unable to access it until that has been paid, even though I have nothing to do with this other account, and am not at all linked to this other account, and even though Square Enix admitted their mistake. Honestly what an amazing system this company has they totally mess up, they admit they mess up, but they wont do anything to rectify that at all, its more a case of "get on with it"

Honestly what a disaster of a company, they clearly do not follow customer care or client confidentiality, they also do not seem to follow their own company's protocols, and when they make mistakes that mess someone's account up they don't care even though they are 100% to blame and even admit they are 100% to blame. Its a shame that FF14 is highly recommended, and run by this crap company that does not care about its customers at all.
Honestly I'm just contacting my bank to get my money back and alerting the fraud department to this in case they do attempt to take the money from my account, the money which they have admitted I do not owe them and have no connection to, but yet keep asking me to pay to access my account which they linked to someone else's account by mistake.
What they have done is basically chased me for money someone else apparently owes them, they admit I have no connection to this person but claim because my address starts off the same they linked me to this person.
I have never had this trouble before with anyone else ever, so I highly doubt their excuse is the truth, if it is though then what idiot came up with the system they are using.

Very very very pricy

Their prices are insanely high. The delivery cost for a small product would be 30e.
Customer Service isn't helpful or really trying to help and find a solution.

Square Enix CS : 3/10 - quick answer
Square Enix Store : 1/10 - a lot of great products but really expensive, and they are not making any effort for the delivery price.

Square Enix is a great gaming company, but their EU Store is a joke.

I'm a fan of the Final Fantasy serie, but every time I need to interact with them, I'm disgusted.

Last time I ordered from their EU store, and the product was sent from US. I paid the import fee, and struggled with their Customer Service to get a refund (clearly their mistake)

I'm not gonna order anymore, because they clearly don't care about their customers.

Horrible account management.

The customer service around Square Enix's Final Fantasy 14 is just awful. I ended up getting locked out of my account after re-activating. Then the automated system didn't send me an e-mail. Then they wanted me to call them, all while my monthly subscription is running. They make okay games, but the account management and automation system leaves very much to be desired. I am still locked out of my account and have wasted my money, and need to waste more time and money to reclaim my account. Honestly, it's a step away from theft. It's corporate robbery via incompetence.

Account Management is a joke!!!!

If I could give 0 I would, spent money on Final Fantasy 14, tried to log into my account and it said passowrd incorrect. So i changed my password and logged into the website fine, however, to set up for FF14 you have to go to the Square Enix Account Management, where I put in the same login details as I was told to, but I won't log in. Says information is incorrect when I know it isn't. Spent 2 hours to get no where, and find out you can't link my PSN account to a new account, its permanantly linked to my old one. Now I have paid £11 for a game I can't even play. Worst services I have ever had, will be in contact with PSN about a refund, because I'm not gonna let SE have my money for such an awful website.

Absolutely poor service I have been unable to play because of a error 601 and keep getting told to follow the link no result at all such a shame that FFXIV is a great game and after 5 years I cant play because they just too lazy to investigate what's cause the error from their even after telling them I have tried payments of 5 different PCs and a freshly installed windows they just don't give a f***...typical oh you paid over $300 for all the collectors well FU we dont care no more attitude

Abysmal customer service - Just Avoid

Nothing but abysmal customer service for FFXIV. So I created an account and bought FF14 and all of the available expansions.
I played for about 1 - 2 months kept myself to myself had no issues with anyone (The RMT account scam thing was starting at this time, there had been a few victims)
I was playing one day and encountered one of the RMT bots but it seemed to have been a player who had fallen victim to the "new" scam, this scam was only just starting at this time there had been a few victims but it was fairly new so not many people were aware of it and a number of people fell victim to it. The Scam I am speaking of where scammers would post links in whisper to people saying there was a prize draw and follow this link, people would then follow that link and "log in" and it turned out to be a scam. A lot of people fell victim to it, and honestly Square Enix reacted very late to it.
So I reported the issue and hoped that the GM's would be able to help the person get their account back, sent copies of the chat log so the GM's could clearly identify what had been said and the name of the character, I was just trying to be helpful, and Square Enix does tell people to actually report this sort of thing so that they can sort it out ASAP.
3 - 5 days later I went to log in and couldn't, I checked my emails and had an email saying my account had been terminated due to RMT activity. (-.-) I managed to get in touch with live chat support, where the person who I spoke to confirmed there seemed to have been a huge mistake (I took screen shots of the in game issue which did help) I was then told that my case would be given the highest priority and everything would be checked out.
Further communication with Square Enix confirmed that who ever had looked at the report had made a mistake and staff were so sorry this had happened and would be doing their best to get my account back up and running as soon as.
Eventually an agreement was reached, I would have my account back with in the month. Honestly highest priority, 1 month is not highest priority specially for a staff error. Don't even mention the fact I had paid for the month already, which is also annoying, Square Enix even if they make a mistake do not give you back the lost game time, nor do they refund you. They honestly really need to fix that.
So 1 month after the last communication where it was agreed my account would be given back to me there was still nothing, I waited for another week and then seriously began to wonder what was happening so I contacted Square Enix again and asked if they could give me a date that my account would basically be given back to me, and what was going on because this had apparently all been sorted out and everything. At this point Square Enix changed their story and said that my account was terminated for RMT purposes and would not be given back, I reply with but this has already been investigated and it was confirmed that a staff member had made a mistake, showed the online chat all the copies of documents I kept but nope apparently telling me there had originally been a mistake was the mistake.
When I asked for proof through a Data Access Request thing, they literally sent me proof I was not the person promoting RMT activity. They sent me the chat logs of the "incident" and what they sent me was copies of what I had said, which was nothing, they literally sent me a document with the "offence" and the "punishment" and then the proof below, which was blank. I pointed this out to them, and was ignored.
Honestly what a mess of a customer service system, the staff make mistakes so clearly they are not well trained otherwise they would not be making very easy mistakes, and then the same staff cover the mistakes up, so they are not honest. They will make you wait weeks, and if they come to some sort of agreement with you, they will go back on it, like they did with me, and then they will ignore you even after sending you proof of your innocence. Honestly I have no words for the level of incompetence.
I reported a player who's account was being used by someone else for promoting RMT activity, Square Enix asks people to actually report the victims of this scam, a staff member made a mistake and terminated my account because I was apparently promoting RMT activity, the mistake was confirmed by Square Enix, Square Enix said yes there was a mistake made. Square Enix then claim they made another mistake and actually no I was the person spamming RMT messages. They then sent me proof I was innocent and refused to even acknowledge this.
I managed to get a full refund through my Card Company, because I kept all communications, also just letting everyone know there is a thing in Square Enix TOS that say if they make any mistakes which effects your accounts, they will repair, replace, or refund. They don't stick to this mind.
Nice product but not worth it.

Angst wegen Rezensionen?

Ehrlich gesagt hatte ich Angst den Support zu Kontaktieren nach den ganzen Negativen Rezensionen.
Jedoch hat mich die Erfahrung dort sehr positiv überrascht, die Antworten kamen meist ca. 1-2 Stunden nach Einreichen des Tickets und waren stets hilfreich. Sie konnten alle Probleme lösen und waren sehr Freundlich.

What a horrible experience, waiting forever.

Account hacked and they restored it but it took ages to do it. They repspond only once a day wich is annoying. Now requested rollback of character and as of today I am still waiting, so thats 1 whole week now and they still have not fixed it. The only thing that they needed to fix was my missing gill.
But they need more then 1 week to reset my password and restore my gill?!
What a horrible experience.
Love Final Fantasy XIV but Square Enix support is very slow and just bad overall. I am still waiting while I am still paying to play. I pay for game time and i pay for retainers so thats a pretty expensive week. They say my request has the highest priority. I feel sad for the people with the lowest priority, they must need to wait months to get something fixed. Fix your support Square Enix.

I think that the game marvel Avengers is really good but what I think would be better is if you added my favourite character wanda maximof aka scarlet witch. Please may you do this she is my favourite character and I think it would make the game more interesting.

Absolutely Abysmal Customer Service

Absolutely abysmal customer service for FFXIV. Never and I repeat NEVER say anything that can be remotely considered offensive in the game. I mean that, you'll get reported and then your account will be suspended. If you attempt to appeal customer support they will COMPLETELY IGNORE YOU. I've worked in the gaming industry for customer support before and I would be absolutely berated if any appeal on harassment report is left for longer than an hour. Square Enix leaves it for DAYS and POSSIBLY WEEKS! If you try to appeal, you WILL be ignored. Great game, but extremely horrible customer support. If they're graded on how many tickets they respond to, those GM's are excellent at sending you the same response over and over "it's being worked on" then nothing and I do mean nothing will be sent back to you. HORRIBLE!

Key notes:

1) I've been a subscriber since 1.0. Started playing when the game launched in 2010.
2) Spent thousands of hours in game and hundreds of dollars in the online store.
3) I've never reported anybody else.
4) This my first suspension, ever.
5) I'm treated like garbage by being completely ignored.

I forgot my id an password for ffo an they are no help to fix it I can't even make a new account on psn cuz its a 1 account thing so u have to know the first to even change it no support an when I make a complaint they just send a link to the same thing over an over again how am I supposed to change a account I no longer have access to 🤔

Ffxiv

Ffxiv. Horrible tech support. Can't do any tech issue or bug resolution...they blame gms for their bugs that they have known about fir 5 years. GMs...non existing..auto response...weeks of waiting to get just an auto response and no help on an absolutely proven bug of theirs. If their CS can't do anything...their TS can't do anything and their GMs can't do anything??? Then stop making and running game. You have no services that work for this game. You admitted you have a bug that will randomly take a "few hundred" players items every "so often" ...and in your words "compared to the amount of players that isn't worth fixing". Well if you had high end gear hard to get and are one of those few hundred...it does matter. Why play if your gear might disappear at anytime and you wont...yrs I said won't fix it.

Worst customer support ever

Worst customer support ever! If you have a problem with your account and contact customer support, expect to wait and wait and wait for a fix. My account recently got hacked/compromised a couple weeks ago and I am still waiting on them to fully fix it. I've tried reaching out to the customer support team a few times, but all I am getting is non-answers and a blatant refusal to give me any estimate of when it will be completed. Each time I call customer support, the same person answers - who is rude and condescending and can't even pretend to give a damn about the customer. Last time I asked to speak to his supervisor or someone over him, I was put on hold for nearly 10 mins and then he picked up claiming everyone was too busy to talk to me.

Plain bad

Plain bad. The process to create an account is confusing, navigating it is like going through a maze. I was trying to make myself an account so I could play FFXIV (as my friends all gushed about how great it was) and it took so long, I actually almost gave up a few times. My sister tried making an account as well, and it took her even longer (stuff kept not working and she had to change passwords and email addresses countless times because it never worked, I don't even know what happened because she did the same thing I did, yet it didn't work for her). Plus there's this whole one-time password thing that's just so tedious, and let's not forget that when you're confused about what to do, the instructions on the help page are super vague and unhelpful. It's super annoying. I don't understand how this managed to stay like this for so long despite how obviously people are not liking this. FFXIV could be SO much more popular if only the registration process wasn't so horrible and unfriendly

Waited almost a week for nothing.

I had a psn account linked to my main email. Cancelled and tried to link it through their automated system to my main account. Obviously didn't work. Contacted customer support, was told I contacted USA and not Europe, after a few days. I contact them again, fill out a form, wait almost a week, only to be told that that email, the once I had canceled on my end, did in fact still have an account associated with it and they cannot link it to my main account. Since they are customer support, I have asked them to then help me delete that psn account so I can reuse my mail and link it to my main account. I wouldn't hold my breath, as the customer service team has proven as useful as Square Enix automated systems.

Ich versuche meine E-Mail für meinen Account aus Sicherheitsgründen zu ändern, dafür muss ich aber ein Formular ausfüllen UND ein Ausweisdokument hochladen. Aus Sicherheitsgründe werde ich das das Ausweisdokument nicht hochladen!!!

Alle anderen ähnlichen Plattformen bieten eine sehr viel einfachere und problemlose Möglichekit dazu.

Ich erbitte eine schnellstmögliche Behebung dieses Problems!!!!
