Purchase an item that wasn't able to be returned

I ordered a product that wasn't what I wanted and try to returned it. It took customer service over a month to reply only to return said item only for them to deny it because it was opened. The packaging the item came in didn't have a seal so I was sent an item that couldn't be returned at all.

Very bad after-sales service

I spent a lot of time contacting customer service, and their customer service was very segmented, so I was directed to different service links.

This took me a lot of time.

The final answer I got was that they don't provide support for third-party platforms.

I had a problem buying their company's games. Steam asked me to go to Square enix, and Square enix asked me to go to Steam customer service.

This is a terrible way to handle this. There is no guarantee at all when purchasing a game.

Hands down worst login assistance

Hands down worst log in assistance I have ever seen.
Paid for the PC version and received a key that I was somehow able to connect to my square enix account. Forgot my login ID which is required to get into the game and it will not let me use my registered email.
Attempted the "Forgot ID/password" feature to get my ID as I already know the PW. Only for them to not give me my ID. Result I spent a couple hours resetting and trying to figure out where I can find my ID.
The "Help Center" just directs you to the "Forgot Id/Password" resulting in an endless cycle while not being able to contact a real human being.
Even if you call the phone number you need a customer ID number that you can only obtain IF YOU LOG INTO YOUR ACCOUNT!!! Can't even talk to someone to get a refund. Pretty much just stole $20. Me not buying the $60 version is the only upside to the situation.

It was the worst experience I've ever…

It was the worst experience I've ever had with Customer Support. It took over 10 hours spread over 3 days to unlink my Steam account (that they knowingly let me link to an account that was locked to Windows and not even able to use steam keys) and relink it to a new account I had to make with a new gmail. Why doesn't it do a simple check before allowing you to link them?? And I quote "I do understand the frustration about the process. We apologize for the inconvenience but the Windows and Steam Platforms are not compatible to each other. " Yet there is no check? They just blindly let you link a steam account to one already locked to windows? And then the unlinking is a ONCE IN A LIFETIME thing. So I can never do this again.

Aïe aïe aïe.. j’avais acheter le starter pack de FF14 il y a peut être un peux plus de 1 mois.. je reçois un mail en disant que le 06.06.2024 l’abonnement s’arrêtera (comment expliquer que j’avais déjà arrêter tellement j’avais pas aimer le jeux..) aujourd’hui je voulais refaire un petit tour dessus, j’installe le launcher et j’essaye de me connecter, ça ne marche pas.. j’essaye avec tout mes mail, les mot de passes etc, j’ai réinitialisé je ne sais combien de fois le MDP et j’ai fais je ne sais combien de teste.. mais avec leur pt de captcha ou tu dois appuyer sur des images ou elles prennent des 1mins à en remettre une nouvelle.. perte temps max.. (j’etais déjà sur les nerfs) après ça j’ai enfin réussis à me connecter à mon compte « square enix members » très très bien.. j’essaye sur le « mog station » rien ne marche.. mdr.. juste après je me déconnecte sur le « square enix member » et je retente de me connecter et la.. rien ne marche! Tout ça pour dire que au final j’ai payer 30€ en tout (1 extension et le starter pack) pour un jeux que j’ai vraiment pas aimer et qui en plus ou je peux même pas jouer!!!

Nothing works

Nothing works! Payment doesn't work. Ordered online and they send an email without the redemption code. Non-existent customer service and support. If not for their 3 decades of good work nobody in their right mind will put up with them. They deserve their poor rating.

Love your games but in all honesty your…

Love your game but in all honesty your support sites are crap, hard to move around, buggy as hell, and why do you have the country locked, people move all the time so that feature is stupid, blizzard might be in the gutter but their customer support is easier to move around, honestly the hardest thing ive had to subscribe to, its almost like you didnt want my money with how hard it was to subscribe for ff14.

Impossible to resubscribe to the game…

Impossible to resubscribe to the game using any of the payment options. Contacted support and got told to just wait 24 hours. Didn't change anything. Contact them again, all they can do is escalate for investigation and ask me to wait another 24 hours. Horrible first line of support, can't play the game at all because I ran out of game time and they refuse to let me sub again.

À l’origine j’hésitais à passer ma commande sur le site en raison des nombreux avis négatifs. Mais j’ai été très surprise en recevant très rapidement mon colis !

Money aversion

Terrible company that is very allergic to money, you need to go through hoops to pay them, they have issues in their storefront since inception which they never bothered to fix, and their response will go down the history for its supreme idiocy, they made it even harder for people to pay them and get their products,and they take forever to refund people for their mistakes

Probably the worst customer service…

Probably the worst customer service i've ever had. Their account system for Final Fantasy online is broken to the degree that i could not progress from a free trial - despite paying for the game - without restarting - and losing hundreds of hours. This is well known - and affects a huge amount of people. Their tech support refuse to explain this issue, or offer any help - and blame you. Essentially telling you to buy the game again. They still haven't fixed this problem 5 years later, and their customer support is even worse than before.

I have loved their (offline) Final Fantasy games for years and had a lot of good will towards them, but my experience has destroyed that. They are content to rip off and insult their custromers, and I won't be buying their games in future.

Impossible to check ticket

Had a free game. Decided to sub to see if other characters looked better. Creation 'looks' aren't even close to most other games. Entered address information. They said it was Invalid. Sent in a ticket. screenshot it so I would have the number. No email saying they had received the ticket. Next day, try to check the ticket.
But you CAN'T. They do not allow you to check on a ticket if you are not actively playing the game. So if you can't log in, You can't follow up on your ticket.
On the up side, it didn't cost me any money. Never got far enough to make a purchase.

Square Enix randomly locked me out of…

Square Enix randomly locked me out of my account after resubscribing to ffxiv. Was told via their system notification on their site that I was sent an email to my registered email address with them on how to restore it. No email was ever sent (after checking spam et. all).

Attempted to remedy this via resetting my password on the square enix account management website. 5 password resets later with the correct information and multiple hours passed, not a single one has been recognized by square enix's amazing authentication server, even after it telling me both on the site and via email that my password has been changed.

It is a day and time that their customer service is not open, this is beyond ridiculous the level of restriction that they have as a welcome back after resubscribing. My IP address and device has not changed at all since I've last played months ago, and getting a big warm middle finger from Square Enix's account management "system" really has put me off to wanting to touch this game or any other Square Enix products again.

Awful customer service

Awful customer service. My £300+ statue arrived badly damaged and I’ve gone over two weeks with no updates, all they keep telling me is they’re sorry and appreciate my patience. The only update the gave me was two weeks ago when they said they had forwarded it to the appropriate people and I’ve had no update about a refund, replacement or any resolution to the issue. It is beyond pathetic how bad this customer service is. This isn’t the first time I’ve had trouble with them, but this is by far the worst, they literally have no other way of getting in touch with them or making a complaint about the support received.

Horrific customer experience - avoid

Horrific experience.

Ordered FFVII Rebirth Soundtrack back in January. Release date was back on Wednesday (10th of April 2024).

Submitted customer service enquiry to find out delivery information as of Tuesday night - states response should be available within 2 working days. About to go into a 4th day with no update (so not even backing up their own service levels to customers). No alternative way to contact. Don't know what's happening, not sure
when I'll even get an update... Just have to wait!

Terrible experience! No matter how good a developer Square Enix may be. Avoid their online store at all costs.

Schlimmster Onlinestore überhaupt!

Wollte dawntrail kaufen. Neben dem sqex Shop, leitet es mich in den mogry store und den loadstone, jedes mal muss man sich anmelden. Jedes Mal wird man im Kreis weitergeleitet. Aus dem Spiel heraus kann ich nicht die Erweiterung kaufen. Schlimmster Shop, den ich kenne. Unzumutbar!
