Absolutely awful service. The reptile house is not fit for purpose, asked for Nigel who’s knowledge and experience was an asset to Shirley aquatics, only to be told rudely no he doesn’t work here any more and have no idea where he is before you ask! Couldn’t give me any advice on tortoise, as said nobody is qualified to do so. Will be definitely finding somewhere else to go!

We visited Shirley Aquatics today to look at a starter tropical aquarium setup for our son. We were very fortunate to have help from one of the store assistants - Alice, who was absolutely fantastic!!! She was incredibly knowledgeable about all of the tanks, filters etc and also had a fantastic amount of knowledge about getting the water quality right to help keep our fish happy! She spent time with us helping pick out sand, pebbles, accessories and plants and will be getting our aquarium up and running and cycled for us! We can then collect in store and purchase our fish at the same time and everything will be ready to go. Alice was brilliant with my two kids and was just absolutely lovely. Would highly recommend Shirley Aquatics - the variety of equipment and fish etc in store is phenomenal, and Alice is an absolute credit to the team! Thank you!

We were served today by a very knowledgeable gentleman called Gary. He was so patient with our questions and gave us helpful guidance on setting up our new tank, feeding, maintenence and much more. He is an absolute asset to the company. Thank you Gary from Bruce and Barbara

This is a long way from my home (a 4 hour round trip)
I mentioned I had a problem with my pond, green water that I had tried for years to get rid of
I had tried lots of powders and potions on the intrnet, none work
Then I got an email from this company, telling me they might be able to help with their pond filters,
They sent me a video, it was very impressive
Anyway the owner invited me up there to have a look around
They lots of pond set ups, makes mine look pretty shabby
They have stuff I havent seen in other pond shops or garden centers
Also bought some of their water lettuce, never seen them so big and water soldiers, they are supposed to be good for a pond
They have some magnificent Koi (I had never seen a mud skipper in a aquatic shop before)
Anyway I went up there, the staff are really helpful, they didnt push me to moist expensive pond filter, just the ones that would clear my ponds
I bought the Oase Biopress 6000, full kit
Over the following week or so I pestered them with phone calls and emails
But I got there in the end
I hope this Biopress works, they said it might take a few weeks to clear my ponds
Only time wil tell

Probably one of the best aquatic retailers, I have ever had the pleasure of doing buisness with. The staff are so friendly and extreemly professional. The staff members Celia and Phill deserve a pay rise! I will be back in a few months guys to get that big tank! ;)

Just drove 30 miles and wasted an hour for the second time this year and for the last time.I can't believe that they are out of stock of the basics again.
There is no apology just we should have them in a couple of days.

Ive been buying online fish for a couple of years and like to try all shops out but haven't had many good experiences to date. Some are okay but not in all ways, and some others should simply be shut down.

Shirleys on the other hand are not like that at all, they have been brilliant at every step!

From the moment I started ordering i had support offered. The website is top notch and has a chat box for direct advice.. not many aquatics online even offer email support.

Then you have the variety of fish available to choose from, all at good fair prices.
Loads of great discount deals too... And they ordered a few in for me on top as well.

Shirley's is an aquatics that has a high standard. The highest ive experienced in the hobby.
They have a feel of traditional history and modern efficiency and I cant say how much that was appreciated by me. These guys really do know what they are doing.

I requested to have certain fish seperated and as it was a large order, to have all bags marked with species. Shirley's team did exactly that for me and again I'm very grateful to them for it.

When my order arrived Shirley's team had expertly packed the 30 odd fish id bought for my 4 tanks, clearly marked all the bags as requested and they also used a clever way to open them with elastic bands, where you just firmly pull the top and the bag unfolds without cutting it. Brilliant!

Absolute genius and the sort of knowhow that only comes with experience. You just dont see that anywhere else and im not kidding.

The fish were bright, happy and healthy even after a few hours in the transport system.
Vibrant colours, wide eyes and lots of energy. Perfect specimens!
Well bred, well taken care of and well delivered. Obvious top quality stock.

Ive had thin fish, poorly fish, emaciated fish and dying fish sent to me by other sellers online before but not this time. Every single fish was strong and full of life.

Even the packaging was top drawer. They included many helpful leaflets to assist new buyers with their new pets, the receipts and invoice were there too and the fish were packed perfectly with heat packs in a large poly box. They even had a thermal blanket added to insulate them further. Again perfect!

Some larger companies online will charge more and provide much less quality than Shirley's, and I can honestly say they have provided me with the best all round fish buying experience ive had to date anywhere at any aquatics online.

If you are a fishkeeper on a budget like me and want all the best service you could hope for then Shirley's should be where you spend your cash.
Ive wasted hundreds of pounds for a fraction of the quality service these guys gave me and they showed it to me freely.

The team are friendly, helpful, polite and decent. And they are experts at what they do.
In my opinion Shirley's are the best online UK Aquatics bar none!
And I cant recommend them enough!

We had our new tank delivered and assembled today by Phil and Ollie. They were extremely helpful and courteous throughout, offering advice and tips for maintaining our tank,while installing our tank and cabinet. Have always had a positive reception and experience when visiting the store, and the delivery and setup is an extension of the professional service offered. Would highly recommend Shirley Aquatics and can’t thank Phil and Ollie enough, a credit to the company.

We literally cannot thank these guys enough for their incredible knowledge and expertise. We were experiencing some feeding difficulties with our leopard gecko, but Nigel and Tegan came to our aid and ultimately saved our little girl. This is, without doubt THE place to go for all your reptile paraphernalia and care-related queries.

Visited Shirley Aquatics last week, after finding a Cleair aquarium online. We were provided with a friendly service and an abundance of recommendations . Completing our purchase of the aquarium and all equipment required, we were advised that everything would be delivered and completely setup by Wednesday of the following week. Phil and Ollie arrived as agreed Wednesday, very cheerful and friendly…. We couldn’t have asked for two better guys to deliver and setup the aquarium, nothing was too much trouble, even offering to put the stone in the aquarium for us. Many thanks to all at Shirley Aquatics for a fantastic service

We visited Shirley Aquatics Japanese Centre and were amazed at their selection of Japanese Koi with a friend. This was even more surprising as the difficult Koi stockist are having saucing Koi. John Cooke (owner) is a font of Koi knowledge and is happy to pass it on with a great sense of humour. We were both very happy with our purchases and can’t wait to return.

The gentleman who deals with the reptiles was super knowledgeable and super lovely too! Will definitely be returning!

Shirley aquatics please sort your fish tanks out! They are unclean and it’s not nice seeing dead frogs and the fish kept in these conditions. The tanks were filthy, you have broken cupboards and doors hanging open on tanks, cluttered work stations. I witnessed a member of staff pulling a fish in a bag out of a tank and scraping it along the side. Really grim visit. Will not be coming again.

Visited Shirley aquatics today for some advice on some live plants, and advice on some vampire crabs, Nigel who works there is spot on! So friendly, kind & very knowledgeable on everything to do with vampire crabs, took his time with us and explained everything perfect for our new tank set up even showed us his vampire crabs in his own tank. Couldn’t thank him enough for his help! 5stars from us.

We recently visited Shirley aquatics and Penny and Nigel served us, overall it was a really positive experience. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about reptiles and their care. They took the time to answer all our questions without rushing us, which made a big difference.

Been coming to Shirley aquatics for about a year now and Nigel and penny has always very every helpful nothing has ever been to much for them would recommend them to any 1

Ok what does Shirley aquatic mean to us! I say us as we always visit as a family, my husband & I along with his parents, sadly it's just we 2 & his/our mum now as Dad passed away a while ago.
We used to visit the original shop in Shirley with the Huge round fish tanks, "a real eye opener as mum would say" stopping for coffee & cake in the wee cafe at the back of the shop!
The New shop is Wow "although it's not really new anymore" luckily for us when they moved they found new premises just around the corner from where mum lives in Longbridge, so we get to visit more often.
The reptile/exotic shop is Fantastic & the open days when they do tutorials on different creatures you can add to your family are also worth the visit.
The staff throughout are always welcoming polite & willing to help on any subject with a genuine smile.
Husband is a PADY qualified diver & soo wants to offer to clean the Shark tank!
In short it's a fantastic place to visit, it can get a tad busy but I think this goes to show just how well managed & popular it is.

Amazing service ! Alice always goes above and beyond with expert advice for my tropical fish set and tank set up. Knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely helpful -thanks to her, i highly recommend Shirley Aquatics!
