Purchased the home pack and on the box…
Purchased the home pack and on the box clearly states monitors the lighting but once setup, it indicated that I had to upgrade to benefit fully from the unit and pay extra which I think is very misleading. On the box it clearly tell you that u will need slides which gives you that information but no where states that you need to upgrade to benefit from the lighting option!
The setup itself, if you are not computer friendly can be a nightmare! Took me about 1 hour to set this up.
While I like the constant ammonia and ph monitoring, I believe it’s about time you update the app to give notifications when parameters are wrong instead of email.

Thanks for your review! Sorry if there was a misunderstanding, the Home device can sense basic light (so it can see when the lights are on or have gone off). The full light meter is on the Reef device only, but you can upgrade the Home version if you would prefer this. Just check your dashboard for the light widget to see the light overview.

If you have a slide active on the device, you should also receive text messages for anything related to the slide to your phone as well as an email to alert you wherever you are to any issues. I will pass your suggestion across to the development team regarding in app alerts also.

Good product, could simplify its setup process
Great product. Simple to use AFTER you have set it up. I am competent with IT, but still found the setup process very complicated and fragmented (particularly when using the wifi server with the seneye device). Once setup, it does what you would expect. I would like to see graph view from within the app rather than navigating to a webpage though - the app just gives current reading, and you have to go to the seneye.me website to see past readings.

The app is intended for a quick view to the current readings of your tank. You can link straight to your dashboard from the app to view the graphs to check the trend. However, I will pass your suggestion to the development team for consideration.

Seneye device is good & after initial…
Seneye device is good & after initial issues a couple of years ago the new software seems to be a lot more stable, the only issue I have is the price of the slides, they seem to increase every time I order them.
I could initially buy a 3 pack of slides from a few sites online including eBay for around £19, it seems Seneye have stopped selling to third parties & only sell the items direct so they can charge more as the are now £22.20 + postage.
