ADVICE FOR JOBSEEKERS

PROTECT YOUR CREDIT - SIGN NOTHING

So, I my advisor seemed alright apart from perhaps trying to trick me into signing the forms on my first meeting when potentially claiming for travel expenses. I sacrificed the bus fee for my first appointment and advised the job centre that although I attended the first meeting I did not feel that Seetec could help me and also that I did not sign up to their services.

The seetec advisor has threatened on multiple occasions that he will contact the jobcentre to issue a sanction. I have been open with my jobcentre advisor who has advised no messages have come through to them at all. So he has been making empty threats in the hope of gaining some leverage over me which is a sales tactic and not a service tactic. I have complained to the jobcentre about the threats and they have been extremely supportive.

The jobcentre must refer you if you are long term unemployed, but that does not mean you must sign up to the services of said QUANGO. If you sign their paperwork, you are agreeing to their terms of service which will unlikely be helpful and hinder you further.

I am still applying for work but have had no negative affects to my UC yet.

Not great - trust pilot have a different page for seetec pluss

Everyone writing bad reviews for the Seetec (the job coaching/ training and job finding service) on this trust pilot page is actually leaving reviews for a totally different company (ending .com). If you read this and wish to leave a review of Seetec (the job finding/ training company), the trust pilot have a different listing for this - the seetec ending with .co.uk

Would give minus stars if could.

Would give minus stars if could.
My experience bad, same as other reviewers.
This relates to kings Lynn office.
Initially on going to office, sat in waiting room, before met anyone, staff at front desk ' loud whispered' on purpose so I could hear, ' let's call jobcentre on her, and have her benefits stopped'. Repeatedly.
Then I was shouted at, threatened, and bullied into signing ' contracts' and paperwork against my will, when saying 'no'. Even papers that said ' voluntary, under no obligation to sign. Was threatened for 45 minutes ' we will call jobcentre and stop benefits if don't sign contracts/paperwork'. Manager sat laughing behind back mocking me being yelled at in mocking hyena animal noise. Then asked yelling staff member ' if SHE was okay' ( not me). Was threatened to give them my passport, driving liscence, parents names, birth certificate - all of which I refused. They threatened my benefits again. They threatened be to forge timesheets/ actions/work claimed they d done- which never had. ' or benefits stopped'. Staff never turned up for planned appointments, mucked about gossiping deliberately leaving clients waiting, mocked clients. I rarely saw other clients. No one worked. Claiming missed appointments when hadn't. Final straw today after months, I withdrew all contracts forced to sign as had been ill for a month with ms / neuro horrific symptoms, ambulance, vertigo, vision problems, at hospital, couldn't walk for a month or see properly, room spinning 24/7, couldn'tspeak at times - and threatened ' still have to come in', even with sick note, and severe infections and life threatening illness. Told them no, not being threatened anymore. I'm done with them all. Had no response from them ! Fear loosing eyesight, and they're saying ' no excuse, you HAVE TO COME IN.'
NO WORDS.

Great Yarmouth Seetec Sucks!

This place is terrible. Almost been a year and it is all the same BS. Staff are unprofessional and continuously interrupt appointments with workplace banter between Seetec staff which impacts appointment durations. Some of the staff can frequently be heard swearing and using vulgar language when conducting work duties such as swearing when they mistype a word on their keyboard or trying to “fit in” by swearing in front of me and other Seetec attendees. It’s a cringe atmosphere and feels like a bootleg version of The Office mixed with rowdy bar talk and vulgar. This Seetec location is based in Great Yarmouth. Whereas the Jobcentre conducts itself in a far more professional manner.

I have refrained from writing a…

I have refrained from writing a negative review of Seetec up till now, but feel it's the right time to do so, as I am coming up to the end of my year's commitment to them.
Whilst some of the courses they put you on can be useful (if that's the line of work you actually WANT to go down), actual communication from Seetec themselves (as well as the consistency of the work "advisers") is pretty poor. I have had 3 separate "coaches" during my time with them, the first and second disappeared without warning or explanation, the third was so overbearingly aggressive and intimidating in her approach towards getting me into (usually completely unsuitable, or underpaid) jobs it caused real stress and anxiety for me, and I'm not usually an anxious or easily stressed person.

They often say they have "tried" to call you during telephone appointments, but many times I have NOT received a call, without a suitable explanation or follow-up from them. At one time they even admitted they were having problems with their telephone system. Generally however I suspect they are just lying and didn't actually try to call you even though they said they did. I have spoken to my Job centre work coach a few times complaining about Seetec's abysmal communication (the fact you can't even phone the Seetec office itself is just ridiculous), yet they hassle and pressurise you just to tick their various "boxes" about what you should be doing to get a job. Ultimately their aim is to gain £3000 commission on every person they get into a job, they don't care whether it's actually suitable for YOU personally, which could really affect both physical and mental health for many people already in the unfortunate position of struggling with such issues. Such aggressive/bullying tactics, accompanied by their overall appalling communication from them and inconsistency in work advisers, just sets up a situation where people lose self-confidence and ultimately fail in achieving their job or career goals. Thankfully my Jobcentre work coach is sympathetic to my personal situation and goals, otherwise I would probably have had a mental breakdown by now.

Seetec Plus are incompetent

I was with them 15 months and felt it was a complete waste of my time. In that time I had 3 different coaches which meant they didn’t really get to know me and understand what I needed therefore I felt undermined and at times patronized and would leave the appointment feeling totally defeated and low in mood. I now have a new coach with a different company and she is a breath of fresh air. I would not recommend Seetec Plus to anyone

I just applied to my INTREO office to be taken out of Seetec immediately

Dear Sir or Madam,

I herewith apply to be withdrawn from the service of Seetec again. This company is awful and services are also reviewed poorly. Please get me back immediately back to a service in your premises in Ballymun. I can't work with seetec, never experienced such disrespectful personnel in a governmental directed organisation.

Their reviews on, for example, Trustpilot show nothing else.

They are awfully reviewed and really not only a waste of time but a damage.

Thank you and kind regards

One of the worst experiences of my…

One of the worst experiences of my life. I had just come out of the psychiatric hospital. I had no money and I wasn’t in the right mental place to work. I had to go to the job centre in order to receive universal credit. I explained my situation, but they still pressured me to work. Eventually, they put me in touch with Seetec. This was really when it all went down hill. A man named Kamal would call me once a week and make me feel bad for not finding a job. There were days that I actually felt strong enough to get out of bed, and then I would get a phone call, and he would make me feel like I didn’t want to be on this Earth any more. I was let down by the government. A government in which I had spent years paying tax too. Thankfully, I left the UK to work in New Zealand and I have never looked back. I am so much better now, I have friends, a home and a job I enjoy. I still remember Seetec though, they really knew how to kick me while I was down.

Downright liars and screwed me over

I was sent to this company from DWP...

This company gave me an appointment date but mixed up my details with another person with the same first name as me so I never got the phone call appointment on the date specified... I then called up asking if it got cancelled to which they told me they got mixed up with another person and apologised..

THEN THEY CONTACTED DWP TELLING THEM I NEVER ANSWERED THE CALL AND I NEARLY GOT SANCTIONED FOR IT!

They promised to help me find employment again, instead they tried to screw me over to save their own @rse5 :(

We may be unemployed but we are still human beings... Many of us actually ARE trying to find employment... not all of us are Wayne and Waynetta..

"GDPR" Only way out from your aggressive bullying advisor

Participants, stop signing paperwork and consent contract forms.

Quote "GDPR."This is where they have full control over you and abuse your personal data.
Sharing with third parties job interviews billions of miles away, threatening messages or sanctions, e.g., no public transport, etc., just to claim the job outcome payment and courses with companies like Serco, all dodgy government contracts tied to them that how these providers earn money if you did sign withdraw immediately, ask your advisor for the consent forms once again, quote GDPR, exercise your rights, you will not be sanctioned restart providers fall under the 3rd party company act work coach, and DWP doesn't have a say on this.

By keeping to your UC work commitments by seeking your own work and work experience and studying in college under your own terms,.
For any jobs they want you to forward, ask them to send you an email with the details you will apply for on your behalf, and show evidence to your advisor if required.

This way, you remain under full control. I did this for 10 months, turning up to my mandatory appointments in and out of 10 minutes at maximum zero pressure, showing all my own job applications, and remaining in college while doing my course and seeking myself work experience at my own pace.

The first two months were hell on earth with my consent to share, with 3rd parties putting forward jobs miles away at 4 a.m. once withdrawal consent forms, all back to normal.

I did give them a chance, but I didn't like their aggressive, condescending approach and their threatening sanction behaviour towards a job at 4 a.m. without allowing me to explain. My reasons: no public transport; the advisor didn't take the answer; no only wanted yes or maybe held me. At gunpoint over the phone.

Seetec lost so much funding from me that I didn't take any courses or jobs from them. Maybe take a look at the advisors you employed and train them up to a standard level. I did find that the two sales advisors yes sales advisors checked them out on LinkedIn.

I had were terrible at communication skills and no people skills no empathy no duty of care. They were very good at talking down to you in a very condescending way. This scheme has so much potential—all bad negative feedback all down to advisors actions.

Another useless government mickey mouse scheme. Must be some politicians benefiting from the contracts. The majority of reviews are quite rightly dire. They do nothing I can't do myself, pointless scheme and I know they won't find me work and I won't let them take the credit for finding my own job as I know they like to try and do that also

I’ve just had totally awful experience with IPES that I was refered to as I have ASD and adhd , only diagnosed last two years and I’m 49. Worked all my life but last few years , things have fallen down around me . So , IPES failed me ; then told about SEETEC. Was expected to meet with someone today called Helen at 1.30. Rushed back from my volunteering role , found my id needed , and sat lack a jump th for 30 mins waiting in agreed place . Text to say where I was . No show . Tried calling texting , nothing . Then k juts for a call , 1hr 20 mins later than the meeting , with Helen oh so apologetic and out of breath and so sorry , she had forgotten and had gone to a networking meeting then she suddenly realised she was supposed to be meeting with me . I hung up . Had enough of these crap company’s who say they help people . Someone needs to feed all this back to local mp’s etc , these companies are just milking the system at our benefit . I’m already a seriously depressed and anxious , and when this happens , it just makes it worse . Thanks Seetec

Confusing and pretty useless.

They couldn't organise a p!ss up in a brewery. Useless. Two calls booked for today, neither received. They claim to work closely with the Jobcentre but don't bother informing them either. If you are offered this, don't bother as it's a waste of time. Health and wellbeing was helpful in my case though, really nice guy.

Harassment and threats

Today I experienced harassment on the phone by a Seetec employee called Anka / Yanna something like that - from the Manchester area office. I didn't get her name because she had a very harsh accent and I could not understand all she was saying. Definitely North-Eastern European, Ukrainian, Russian or something close.
I applied through the council for an ESOL course. My aim was only to practice speaking before taking my English exam and then applying for my citizenship.
I was not referred by Universal Credit or other related organisation for compulsory enrolment.
So I rang them to say that I will not participate in enrolment because I changed my mind and I was not interested in Seetec.
The woman on the phone started asking about my Universal credit and I refused to give any information because I was not referred by universal credit.
She started being rude, shouted and threatened "I will report you to the council!" and she hang up. Then I wanted to contact her manager but she would not answer the phone to ask for her manager's contact details to report the harassment.
It seems that Seetec is thirsty for tax payers' money and they will bully and threaten people to get access to this money.
The fact that she works for ESOL but her English was awful is also a big red flag. And if is she is a refugee who was offered this job, maybe she is taking herself way too serious. They are only refugees not invaders. I hope so. If she is refugee doesn't mean that she has the right to harass and threaten others.
Stay away from Seetec at all costs. All providers of government funded schemes are bullies. Stay away if you value your health and mental wellbeing.

Horrendously bad

Horrendously bad. I was on it for only 4 months before finding my own employment but the advisor was really rude to me for no reason. Upon doing either research I discovered they pocket 3000 pounds for "getting you into work" yet they are absolutely useless at this task and don't help in the slightest. The job centre was also useless but still far better than this scummy company. I suspect the government have money tied up in this or have something to do with it. Such a waste of taxpayer money. Do not agree to sign anything they give you and do not give them job details if you get one so they don't pocket 3 grand.

Gaslighting and abuse just for being unemployed

Absolutely astonishing by my whole experience.

I took the initial phone call at the job centre to start restart and was given my first appointment time and date. When I got there they said I didn’t have an appointment booked but it was the same person who set up my appointment.

This became a common occurrence. I’ve just read all the other reviews and they are doing the same to everyone (setting up appointments then saying they don’t have a appointment that day)

Found a job myself and my advisor hounded me for the details even though I found them.

Threatened with sanctions even though they have to mandate me first, says this in the contract so just proves they don’t even read their own contracts.

Was promised reimbursements that I haven’t seen.

I was getting something like 5 phone calls a day and 5 emails a day. Absolutely harassing me which destroyed my mental health.

During my time I had 5 different advisors as they all kept leaving the job.

Time and time again they would lie about jobs and appointments but didn’t seem to realise my phone records every conversation which I then showed to the job centre.

At the end they were annoyed that I was still unemployed but threatening me with sanctions and lying about appointments isn’t going to get me a job.

I think if I were ever to be put on something like this again I would sign off and take my chances being homeless.

I would compare their gaslighting to being in an abusive relationship.

Worst run company I have ever seen

Like others have said, constant lying about appointments and saying I don’t have an appointment when I do.

I’ve never seen such an unprofessional company in my life. The harassment was unbearable that I considered taking my own life.

When I took the initial phone call they made out I would be helped and refunded all travel expenses. Every time I asked for my travel to be reimbursed they didn’t have any money.

This has set me back years in terms of being employable and my mental health.

I was told and signed a contract saying I would have a 1 face to face meeting a month and 1 phone call, suddenly it was then me coming in twice a week whilst they refused to refund travel.

Job centre knows exactly what’s going on but won’t do anything about it.

If anyone reads this please record everything with restart. They will lie about absolutely everything. You have been warned.

These Jokers Still In Business?!

Still awful, unhelpful, and unprofessional this year judging by more recent reviews, completely terrible 16 years ago when they were forced onto me, why is this UK clownshow still on the road?!

From my traumatic memories from way back in 2007, I had a highly unprofessional, rude, two-faced, ignorant, bullying, violent tempered, and condesceding Seetec agent assigned to me. Scarred me ever since!

It sounds like Seetec cannot ever learn from its mistakes and chronic lack of training/qualifications, and being kept on government life support through pure inertia and corruption.

The main problem with places like this are, they are let loose on the public by a Corrupt Government machine (And Blue or Red) wouldn't make any odds.
The local one to my location, as per other comments, they are patronising (I heard one person call them that on the next desk). They have no idea about suitability of jobs matched to yours, or locations of jobs, which could be 2-3 hours away! They want to dictate what you do (job and training wise) and then threaten to report you to DWP if you don't comply! I also heard from a reliable source, they were known as another name before, and have just been rebranded, probably with most of the same staff! An independent audit of their offices around the country would be the way to go in my opinion!
