A waste of tax payers money.

Was put on their books by my local job centre as I was rebuilding my set-employed business after it had been hit hard by covid. Seetec seemed too have no interest in helping be return to SE status and only concerned with me applying of any and every job going. My job coach kept changing and none of them seemed knowledgable about SE. Compulsory zoom workshops were focused on job interviews and CV writing. Seetec seems to be just a box ticking exercise to justify millions of pounds of government money.

Non-stop Harassment!

This scheme is a complete waste of time.
I was put on this scheme while waiting for a work capability assessment, I use a cane and can barely walk. I understand that you don't have to do this scheme if you're awaiting a WCA but I was forced to do it anyway.
After my WCA I was found to be not fit for work and also I was put on PIP.
The DWP told me that I no longer have to attend the restart scheme and both they and myself informed them of this.
This was back in June and even now in December I am getting multiple emails, texts and phone calls for appointments, I've told them multiple times that I don't have to do it but they don't listen, just constant harassment! I'm starting to get so annoyed by them now, I've tried to block them but they use different numbers to harass me!

Impossible to contact via a telephone

Impossible to contact via a telephone, text messaging seems a pointless endeavour because they seem to go unread. I'm getting a little weary talking to those that don't listen. How the hell seetec gets funding from our esteemed government beggars belief, then again giving serious thought about the Whitehall shower, maybe it's not that unbelievable. Needless to say Seetec need to get their selves together and get a grip of the situation. If you are not part of the solution, then you must be part of the problem. My big question of the day is. Why have dogs got black lips?

I was put on a restart programme with…

I was forced onto a restart programme with Seetec pluss even though I was signed of and unfit for work in Exeter, Devon in August 2022 & I was told that no one could guarantee that I would get a job due to my dissabilities, so I asked the manager why was Seetec Pluss given £40Billion of taxpayers money then? I got no reply as they have not done anything for me at all they do is threaten to sanction me since December 2022 & the UK is still in another reccesion caused by an unelected highly corrupt UK government.

Update
I have been illegaly sanctioned in March, May, July and August 2023 due to Seetec restart in Exeter not doing their jobs properly and the staff are tottaly useless and only interested in treating adults like children in a classroom.
The manager admitted that they can't guarantee to get anybody into a job and they have failed to give me any practical support since August 2022 I am very stressed out all the time as I was self employed for over 35 years and been told by Exeter employers that without any employment references they will not give me a job through no fault of my own. This restart programme is a complete waste of taxpayers money, I have been signed of sick since December 2022 and yet I am still being threatened to be sanctioned by Seetec Pluss surely this is completely illegal in the United Kingdom?

In July 2023 I made a formal request for a copy of the signed contract between my self and Seetec pluss and they could not supply me with any signed contract at all meaning Seetec pluss are breaking UK contract law and I am still signed of sick by my Dr how can Seetec Pluss be getting away with breaking the law every single day?

Surely this is highly illegal to force people who have been signed of sick and unfit for work should not need to go to any appointment without a signed contract in place under UK contract law.

I have been sanctioned again in July and August for failing to attend an appointment with Seetec pluss and I am now seeking legal advice to take legal action against dwp and Seetec plus as both of them have clearly broken the Law.

It seems like they promise everything…

It seems like they promise everything and actually don’t do anything.
A lot of the course they book you in on are not why they say they are. Book you in on a course when you have a hospital appointment and you have already told them the date wasn’t available. So it looks like you haven’t attended. Also book in fortnightly appointments which you attend then get texts emails and calls asking why you haven’t attended, even though you have signed in,proof you’ve attended!
I finally got told I could do a college course and was advised to wait for a confirmation email… 1 week went by … then another , then 4 weeks I ask a different advisor there and I hadn’t been booked on to the course.. I asked if they could place me onto the course while I was sat there, the advisor done it but a week later still no information, so annoying when you have a job but need the qualification , to get the job..
The advisor’s never read the emails you send them with info and constantly ask you for the same info when you’ve already sent it over
Also appointment’s your booked in for your always kept waiting for ages while the sit on their phones sorting out social life. I sat waiting for nearly an hour last time!
As far as I can see it is a waste of time attending this and feel the money could be spent better else where .. like actually sending people to college to retrain and better them self’s.

Disappointing and poor service - Fedcap Burnley

I was so looking forward to this as I read that people were helped by Fedcap restart programme. While some staff were great, others were not. There is a lack of professionalism and poor management. They are no help at all and made things far worse. They falsified what they were offering in the way of jobs, courses and opportunities, then lied about it when confronted. They don't show up for appointments, and avoid any responsibility for their actions. I also can't believe how dishonest and underhanded they are. It was shocking to see this kind of behaviour as 'normal'. They take great pleasure in causing harm to job seekers. I am sorry I ever had anything to do with them, never deal with this company. I urge everyone who has negative dealings with Fedcap to make a formal complaint, and get ICE (independent case examiner) involved. The more people who know what is really going on the better. Let's make a huge effort to get justice.

Patronising and pressurising…Seetec, Hampshire

After many years working for the NHS, I found myself having to resign a few months back due to burnout. I have since been diagnosed as Autistic and having Inattentive ADHD which explains why I struggled so much with work/life balance.
This new diagnosis has allowed me to reflect on the reasons why I have found it difficult to cope when working in certain environments and I am keen to avoid making the same mistakes when choosing my next career path.
My Universal Credit work coach has been fully supportive and empathetic of my need to take some time to explore different options, particularly as I am also balancing out new ADHD medications and have been experiencing some unpleasant side effects. I was told that Seetec could help me explore a more suitable career and I was fully on board with this and was feeling positive.
I had just three meetings with Seetec before telling them today that I would not be continuing with the programme.
During the first meeting, I got the impression that I might be pressured into finding work a lot sooner than I felt ready. I voiced this concern before I signed the documents and was told that there would be no pressure at all and they are here to support me in any way they can. I now know this to be utter nonsense.
I was also concerned when my autism and Adhd were continuously referred to as mental health issues.
Considering this is an employment service to help people with disabilities and poor health, I had expected there to be some level of knowledge about what some of their clients would be experiencing. Neither conditions are mental health issues but neurodevelopment conditions - a person is born with them. A mental health issue develops over time.
When I mentioned that I would ideally like to work from home I was told that there weren’t many jobs like that and I might be being unrealistic.
I was sent a list of jobs on a weekly bulletin email - mostly warehouse jobs and cleaning jobs and not even local to me. While I have nothing against these jobs, neither job would help me manage my autism and I have been educated at university level.
I then attended a meeting to update my CV. On receiving the CV via email after the meeting, I was shocked to discover so many spelling and grammar mistakes. Very unprofessional. I was also told by this particular person that, “Everyone is on the autistic spectrum somewhere.” If this statement were at all true then autistic people wouldn’t face the societal challenges and discrimination that are presented to them on a daily basis.
Then today, I had my third and final meeting where I was patronised and was asked all sorts of intrusive questions right in the middle of the Jobcentre for all to hear. Things like, Can I maintain relationships? Am I in debt? Do I have family problem? Do I have any addictions?
However, the final nail in the coffin for me was when I was asked to give a number of how many jobs I would be applying for between now and Christmas. And also that I would need to send her an email to let her know what I had applied for and when. When I asked why this was necessary she replied in a tone that was belittling, “Well, clearly if you don’t apply for any jobs it could be that the job you want doesn’t exist.”
I told her I had no idea how many I would apply for. How could I possibly know how many suitable vacancies would be advertised between now and Christmas?
That’s when it clicked. They don’t care about job suitability. They have no understanding or empathy of the situation which has led you to where you are. They care about meeting their criteria and ticking their boxes.
And that’s what I told her.
She told me that I was over sensitive and that some people need to be monitored. I told her she only needed to look at my CV to realise that I was not one of those people.
I told her she needed to learn how to adapt to each client, that adhd wasn’t a mental health issue and that I didn’t need babysitting.
And then I left.

Waste of 15 months

I have a long term health condition and lost my job. I was put on Seetec Work and Health as I WANT a job, I just have specific requirements (e.g, work from home). At the start of my Seetec journey, I was put on Gold which means I was open to work. I sent over my CV, was told it was perfect, I have better work experience than 99% of others on the programme (real quote) and it won't take me long to find a job... well, I was signed up for 15 months and was only ever given ONE potential job interview. I spoke to 2-3 different people at Seetec about my requirements (WFH, no early mornings due to meds) and then was told the job was gone. They'd say they would pay my internet (nothing ever came of it) told me they'd look at my desk and chair situation to make it more comfortable for my painful body (nothing ever came of it) and made other promises. I'd do my own job searches, do my own interviews, and would always let my coach know. I attended online sessions that were terribly ran, and the only jobs they ever had were factory or cleaning jobs. They'd apologise and say there were NO work from home jobs. And for a company that tries to get people with health conditions and disabilities work - seriously, NO work from home jobs? After COVID? I don't believe that. After 13 months I put a small complaint in that I felt I wasn't getting ANY help, and was basically told "you can end your contract with us early." But I stayed on, for the small chance perhaps they'd find me a job, and never did.

Truly an awful and wasteful 15 months of my life.

For 10 months of my time there, I was doing volunteer work for a friend for his start-up business. I was doing 10 hours a week helping him run social media accounts. Seetec kept asking me why he couldn't pay me and why I did volunteer. I kept saying "He needs help and can't pay me, and it's giving me great references, work experience and is stopping me from going mad." Yet every week she told me to quit because he was taking advantage of me?

I also started a Masters course at a university, and they told me it would make my job search more difficult and they didn't want me to better my life whilst sitting at home doing nothing.

in my one year of participation

in my one year of participation, I had 7 different people as work couches, in the end, they realized my cv was not best sentenced, etc it was after another 6 people was checking it and they all said was ok last said wasn't before must be blind, etc... and trying to force you to go where worst possible place to increase ratings like vegetarian or Muslim to work in [not relevant needs jobs] a slaughterhouse or selling pigs meat. ;/. they phone calling you and taxpayers' money goes into the pocket of someone higher in this organization. I read its cost a fortune of taxpayers money and from 100 proc unemployed still 93procent after was without a job but it cost the UK a fortune.

Awful restart seetec plus bournemouth…

Awful restart seetec plus bournemouth never ask to join this program but since I was forced onto it , it has been nothing but harassment and forced into face to face appointment, I have asked the jobcentre to remove me from this horrible program as it is causing me serious mental health, anxiety and depression, plus I would be able to work due to problems with knees and hips, ankles , I am now going put in a complaint about this program with the prime minister,

Harassment at the highest level

Harassment at the highest level. I was put on this scheme and fell pregnant I told my consultant several times that I'm no longer required to attend, however I persistently get calls, voicemails and messages. I have had many conversations with the consultant on the phone advising him that firstly I am pregnant, then kept getting calls and told him I am having a difficult pregnancy please don't call back. Throughout my whole pregnancy I kept getting calls and messages. Even 3 days after I had the baby I had another call from the same consultant I told him I've just given birth please leave me alone. However the calls havent stopped my baby is 3 months old now and I've had atleast 30 calls and even more messages. I am going to out in a formal complaint as it really stressing me out. STOP HARASSING ME!!!!

Unprofessional, annoying and useless

After informing the Restart Scheme I was self employed and that I know longer require thier service, they would not stop making me appointments or phone calls.

I informed them over 2 months ago I was self employed and they are still making me appointments!

The service is also next to useless, did not help me whatsoever, it was just an extra annoyance, think I'd rather go to the job centre than to the Restart Scheme.

30/11 I am still getting appointments scheduled!!!

Start of well. I was promised help in many different ways. I found a job and was promised belp with childcare and fuel. Told the nursery seeteec willbe paying!! That was laughable. Not only did they not help, they never answered calls or email. I ended up getting a pay day loan to pay nursery. Had i known they werent going to pay for childcare i wont have taken the job or i would made alterative arrangements. Now i am in more debt. THANKS seeteec

False Commitments — A Waste of Taxpayers' Earnings...

...I used to be a taxpayer and feel so ashamed to be in this situation...

...However, as a person with epilepsy (with long-term seizures), it's hard to find work suited to me. I was placed on this programme with the Jobcentre knowing full well this is the case. Since starting the programme around March 2022, Restart haven't contacted me with a single job or valuable information. — Literally speaking — my email inbox is void of this company...

Appointments are a mix of meet-ups and phone calls. Meet-ups are a waste of time, taking me 30 minutes — each way by taxi only to have 5 minutes of blather with no honest advice or support with a work coach metaphorically colder than dry ice. Again, as a person with severe physical and mental health conditions, I'm unsure how long I can keep these trips up.

Very disappointing and I am losing hope in the DWP. They need to rethink things a bit.

I attended my first ever Seetec Pluus…

I attended my first ever Seetec Pluus 'discovery' meeting today at the Bournemouth office. I was meant to see a specific work coach but I was told she was ill - I had not been informed in advance and I had turned up to the office. I was then offered to see another colleague which I politely agreed to. The lady I met did not seem to have any details about me and even suggested that I had been added now to her "work-load" - she appeared to find this annoying.
Her initial opener was "Tell me about your aspirations" - what???? Er, in another life I'd have liked to have been a fighter-pilot, or maybe a spy, what about stunt-man.....I mean, really.....what kind of opener is that. Clearly, long-time unemployed are there for multiple reasons - what about asking questions about what work I had done and discussing that first? When I questioned and said that it was ridiculous to ask that as an opening question, I was treated as if I was being rude. She then made a very public act of typing into her computer whilst saying it out loud that I had "No aspirations" - REALLY????!!!!!!! (think Carol and " the computer says 'no'"). Totally unprofessional. The office is open-plan and therefore the entire Seetec Pluus staff overheard. The manager then intervened and started to argue with my point of view. I was then ushered away to another desk, whilst the lady who had asked me the question, ran off (dramatically!) to the toilet. This then sparked her colleagues to feel they had to get involved and at least two of them remonstrated with me - with one young buck 6ft+ aggressively confronting me (I genuinely thought he may actually attack me). I was then told that any further discussion was 'aborted' and that DWP would be informed. I am expecting sanctions as from what I have read here, they will totally make me out to be the protagonist. I did not use profanities or rude language. All it needed was relevant, in advance, background work from Seetec Pluss to have avoided what happened - this did not occur. Deeply unimpressed and quite honestly shocked by their attitude. If someone clearly has issues with the start of the 'discovery' process, maybe learn more relateable ways to strike up a good working relationship and conversation. It seemed to me that maybe I was a 'box' to be ticked.

Just change and it could help everyone

I always see the best in people but i can honestly say they do not help you at all. I see this is a problem up and down the country in all seetec buildings the problem is they don’t treat you like people you are degraded and I’ve had more help and treated better by the job centre. If I could change I would luckily I may have jobs coming soon so I can say goodbye and no longer attend. If I ever get an experience sheet I’ll explain they could do better. Maybe treat people like human beings with families, problems and show you’re there. If I was ever in that position I would show I cared. It’s all about ticking boxes. I hope and pray the boss or ceo of seetec would see this review and just do one thing… change. Your company could be a great one to help others if your branches change and actually help
