​I had a wonderful experience at Scrivens Opticians on Glossop Road. Wayne and Lesley were extremely professional, welcoming, and patient. They helped me choose the right frame and size for my face, making the whole process so easy. Highly recommended!

Fantastic care & patience for my husband who has dementia nothing was too much trouble. Lizzie was very patient when he was choosing, she was caring and attentive when advising him. The ladies are extremely friendly and helpful at this branch thank you so much

Visited the Weston super Mare store for my yearly eye check. Needed an upgrade on my prescription from last year. Connor was very helpful and gave me all the information needed that I couldn't think of any questions to ask.

Really great, all round service. I have my eyes tested annually and always go to the Selborne Rd E17 branch as I can be sure of friendly and attentive service with emphasis on what is best for me. Another successful visit.

My mum, who has advanced dementia, had some very old hearing aids and had lost one of them. Mum was no longer signed up with anyone for audiology services. From the moment I called Scrivens in Haywards Heath I was blown away. The could not have been any more helpful in getting mum signed up to their NHS audiology service and gave us a prompt appointment. The appointment happened on time and the audiologist was absolutely brilliant in the way he dealt with mum. Her ears were tested and she got a brand new set of modern hearing on the spot. It's now like speaking to a different person. In short, I can't thank Scrivens enough for their great service and I and my family will be switching to them for our optician services.

Staff were lovely, friendly, helpful and professional. Appointment was on time and went efficiently.

Scrivens in Exeter, have been dealing with the hearing aids for my 94 year old mother and I have to say are absolutely useless. They are constantly booking and then cancelling her appointments at short notice. It is very frustrating as we have to arrange for a family member to go and take her to the appointment which sometimes means booking time off work. So when it's cancelled we then have to reschedule. As my mother is 94 we asked if they could provide a home visit, but they won't.

Both myself and my husband have used Scrivens at Sutton in Ashfield for many years which should be seen that we have been very satisfied with the professional care which we have received over many years.

Graham is a very professional gentleman who today reviewed my hearing test after 3 years wearing NHS hearing aids.He thoroughly explained me through the procedure and helped me adding my aids to my IPhone.I have always experienced very helpful staff on numerous occasions. Would certainly recommend Scrivens for ears and eyes .

I have been going to Scrivens ever since I was a child. I never needed glasses until 4 years ago, I picked my frames and I couldn’t fault the staff that way. When it came to picking them up, they measured them and adjusted the frames which didn’t even need adjusting. They were made too big around my ears. I took them back again for them to do the same and they still kept falling down. I never wore them in the end as I couldn’t be bothered to keep going back for them to ruin these £200 glasses even more. I had to go back last year as I needed them for work due to straining my eyes. I went to a different branch, they did the exact same but scratched the nose bit when they were adjusting them. I complained to be told that it was due to wear, funny that considering that I haven’t been wearing them as the staff can’t adjust glasses properly at all. The complains team are absolutely rubbish and kept calling me a liar. They did the exact same with my Mum’s glasses and sunglasses which cost a lot more. I wish they would just leave the glasses alone to start off with, sunglasses from the shops fit me perfectly. Never ever going back to a Scrivens

Two visits (I ordered a second pair at half price about two weeks after the first pair arrived).

Very kind and attentive.Did not hurry me, when choosing my new glasses.when my glasses were ready, they fitted them, and explained everything.Hence that is why, have given 5 stars.

I chose scrivens as they offer sight and contact lens appointments by the same optometrist, initial appointment went well. The issues have arisen with contact lens fitting appointments since then.
Saw a different person who was unhappy with the first optometrists prescription so checked my eyes again and ordered different samples. Took almost 2 weeks for next appointment and that optometrist wasn’t happy with the prescription again without even having me try the lens. She then told me as I want to be able to order lens online, I should go to vision express to get fitted!
So over a month since my initial appointment and I’m back to square one with no prescription and having to start again with a different company!
Don’t waste your time!

My experience was good, but not great.

I was advised that my eyesight was not up to the standard required for driving, but I was given no explanation as to why.

Was it because I failed to read a particular row of characters? If so would I have been permitted to seek a second opinion, or a re-test. These are purely academic questions, as I clearly required a new prescription, following my cataract operations.

At my previous eye test, at Scrivens, Bridport, it was recommended I should request a Glaucoma assessment. I am now on some waiting list. Glaucoma was not mentioned at this recent test.

More seriously, I could not see a frame that I liked, and so was unable to order a new pair of glasses, from any of the three displays that I looked at.
